News about TaPoS: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RLcjSXWuU9vBJzzqLEXVACSCdn8zXKTTJRN_LfoCjNY/edit?pli=1

The author suggests a real penalty for accounts not mining within a year or so: they pay a fee.

Somehow, I like that.

Would be great if we could get this guy to help us with Nxt DAC.

I fear he has his own plan with BitShares.

Finally! a block has been forged!!!
Just is 1 NXT, but it's a start!

Thank you very much to all who continued to invest in this project.

The percentage of the forging is automatically assigned when the forge is confirmed. (~48 hours) please be patient!

Penalizing people for not forging with their accounts is detrimental.  There are many reasons people don't forge with their accounts.

If you want to drive people away from Nxt, implement this.

Come-from-Beyond, how difficult would it be to add a feature to the asset exchange allowing accounts to trust other accounts for a certain asset up to a specific amount?  The system would have to be able to handle shifting debt balances.

Not very hard.

Why not trusting the person himself?

If you want to help a person, lend him some money. If he is trustworthy, he will give it back to you.

If you trust someone's account, you are trusting him.  The reason why this should be implemented via code in the AE is so the debt transference is automatic which allows for real-time accounting.

Great!

I believe only two new api calls would be required.  One api call to give trust and one api call to remove trust.

Can you please add these functions to the AE?

Excellent, with a 29,500 NXT sale on DGEX I have helped us to cross the 500,000,000 NXT mark on DGEX alone! =D

We have traded far more than half of the entire currency in the past few months. Well done everyone!
Wow! And that's DGEX alone?
If you add the numbers for Vircurex and Bter that's even a more impressive amount!

Count me in, but we need a place to discuss the game and ideas about it Smiley IRC channel?

Yes, IRC, reddit, free php board... somewhere we won't piss off the normal people here. Smiley

edit: I created Nxtopia over at irc.foonetic.net.

Will Nxtopia be a mobile app?

We discussed this a little in the IRC. Uniqueorn brought up a good point that it may be hard to convince either apple or google to allow an app that does payments that don't go through their payment system. But the plan is to make the game light enough that a smartphone can run it.

Nxtopia bounty:

5000 -- jl777 (I think via community fund?)
1000 -- Pandaisftw
1000 -- MyZhre
1000 -- swartzfeger

+ 5000 from me

I think its a brilliant idea.. would like to help with idea and other stuff if I can..
Will this include being able to craft things and then sell them to gain NXT to buy other stuff in the game?

+2000 from me for now.

I'm thinking about having items be represented by assets, thus they can be traded freely outside of the game. So yes, you can sell your super-rare asset for NXT, or vice versa. The game will have it's own in-game currency, which will be exchangeable for NXT anyways, but at least it will buffer rapid price movements (plus we can do things like modify the rate of supply of the in-game currency which we cannot do with NXT directly) - I will have to think about this more, however.

With all the donation-, game token-, micro loan- and what ever-projects rising... shouldn't we talk about that now? If we build awareness with NXT as donation/gametoken/loans and in a few weeks, we have coins on top of NXT which suits much better for this stuff, what happens next?

BCNext's plan for nxt is not to be a currency but instead the coins ON TOP of nxt should be. .. I want opinions.
-
The 2nd part of BCNext's plan - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=458036.0
... I like these ideas but most of the community don't, IMO.

Edit: Well, we have an option not to follow his plan...

BCNext's plan for nxt is not to be a currency but instead the coins ON TOP of nxt should be. I say give Nxt high divisibility (in the future), reduce fees and see what the market will do with it. I want opinions.

I'm going to get my cute ass into bed here in Europeland, but before i go:

Reposted from promotion thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412243.new#new

Here's my productivity for the day: some sweet shiny stickers:

Aren't they pretty ? I now have no idea what to do with them......like to distribute them to the NXT posse, but not sure how.

Any one want some, let me know.....I've only got a 100 so far, so it'll probably only be 5 or 10 stickers per person.
They are 140mm x 40 mm, btw.

EDIT: I'll figure out prices/postage etc sometime Wednesday...the 100 cost €45, but this was just a test run.
In the future I can get the price down a lot if we order larger quantities.

Kodtycoon...don't sweat the price right now. Its good to see a stable sell-off like this. NXT is slowly rolling up and being sold off at the same time, which is a hard trick to do. I expect we will see a massive price surge when the whales stop/slow the sell-off, but when that will be....

I'd like to get my hands on few of them as well!
As I'm also from euroland the postage shouldn't be to much (I will pay for that of course)

I think if you designed a few with a clear back i.o. black, that would also be nice on laptops and such.

- my opinion: coin on top of Nxt can only be centralized coin. Or PoW-coin, like Lukshme. That centralized coin is absolutely different story (then Nxt).  I see no reason to complicate Asset Exchange, as a part of Nxt, with a "trust".

This is AE stuff.  We are basically talking about making all assets loanable.

If you purchase an asset on the AE, you are trusting the issuer.  This is true until the autonomous gateways/exchanges start.

I agree with BCNext.  NXT's core shouldn't rely on trust.  Trusting your friend or neighbor with money is not what he meant, imo.

Come-from-Beyond, how difficult would it be to add a feature to the asset exchange allowing accounts to trust other accounts for a certain asset up to a specific amount?  The system would have to be able to handle shifting debt balances.

Not very hard.

Great!

I believe only two new api calls would be required.  One api call to give trust and one api call to remove trust.

Can you please add these functions to the AE?

It's not easy enough to add it right now.

Ok.  Hopefully in the future, we can implement a social credit system in the AE, if the community agrees.
