I made an easy page for hopefully most of the BCT threads: http://www.nxtcoins.nl/bitcointalk-threads/

There is more than enough activity outside of this thread, contrary what people may think.

Chances are I've missed some. If people who are involved in these could send me a PM, I'll add them. Smiley

Also:

I have made the current source code repository public:

https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/

Master branch is still 0.7.6, develop is 0.8.3 plus latest unreleased changes.

So, the first two NIP we are submitting are to implement TF using Alias to link URI (IP or DNS) address to NXT account. This allows nodes to directly send to the IP address of the next account that will forge.
Hmm, as I understand:
- 1000+ TPS'll require actions of forgers to be "transparent": highight Net-address for acc (and it'll be profitable, ofc; enough amount of known high-forgers on network = 1000+ TPS);
- penalty on the other side for non-forging accs (90%+ protection)'ll be protocol-level. Or not?

RE: Local NXT to fiat exchange market

Everyone feel free to donate to my account to help fund something not yet seen in the world of Nxt that will help people get in touch with ease.

Yes, I am pretty much a stranger here.
Yes, I am quite serious.

In the unlikely event that nothing useful (product launch) will come out of this until February 28, I'll send any donation back to the donor, minus transaction fee matching the fee paid in the originating transaction.

Thank you for listening and keep up all the great efforts!

Well, a little disappointing that the interest seems to be close to none. I guess that's my own fault, though.

If you are curious what I want to do and why donating makes sense:
I want to create a person-to-person exchange for NXT, similar to the functionality of LocalBitcoins.com, providing a secure and easy way to trade NXT (for fiat).

In case you have any wishes or suggestions on how you would want to use it and what to expect from such a service, please let me know.

Also, I remember there being at least one bounty offered for accomplishing this task. Are these offers still valid?
Of course the idea itself is interesting enough to invest effort and time, yet neither infrastructure is for free nor do my living expenses pay for themselves once I go full time on this project.

Been too busy with real life stuff, so unfortunately I am behind my envisaged schedule for the time being.
Still want to give a quick update here.

Despite not receiving a single donation yet (I sincerely hope this does in no way reflect the general interest in the topic),
I'm currently working hard on the site and although I cannot give an exact estimate yet, I hope to have it ready within the first half of this month.

Features so far: (planned but not yet implemented in italic letters)

    Market / General
    • Responsive website for desktop, tablet and mobile devices (manage and confirm your trades instantly )
    • Request / Post trades for NXT to fiat in your local city
    • Support for multiple fiat currencies
    • Escrow for NXT, release NXT securey after payment confirmation (frontend)
    • Integration of additional payment options like bank transfer and third-party payment processors (please send my your wishlist for payment methods!)

      Security
      • Trust level system, trade with people with your desired grade of reputation and verification status
      • User-based realname verification
      • Two-factor authentication using Google Authenticator and paper OTP (for account recovery)
      • Identification and increase of trust level via mobile verification (SMS)

        Other
        • Escrow / Integration with NXT network - this will quite take some time to set up in a secure and reliable way, but I have some nice thoughts on this.
        • Dispute management integration and policy

I'd like to invite anyone willing to trade NXT locally or interested in a beta invitation to please PM me.
There will be a website available soon too for registering your interest.

I'll get back to you guys PM'ing me as soon as my perfectionism allows me to give you a concrete taste of what I'm going to offer.  Grin

Who wants to develop a lightweight NXT tool for Windows or Mac, which sits just in your taskbar/menubar (see picture as a mockup)?
I'm no developer, so somebody needs to step up for this. But I could make a nice landing page for it Wink

        Idea:
Installing and running this little tool should be hassle free. You can lookup your account, use main Nxt functions (like sending NXT, messaging), activate/deactivate forging right from the menu and you see some general blockchain stats.

That way, we could promote this little gadget as a simple and lightweight tool which runs smoothly in the background, forging for you (or not) and securing the Nxt network.

Wouldn't you and newcomers love this lightweight and unobtrusive tool which actively secures the Nxt network?

Here is a mockup with stolen elements of a famous UI Wink

(I posted this idea once (or twice) before but no dev wanted to do it yet)

        I think I've seen it

Please keep me updated on threads that are created.
I'll add them in, so we can keep track.

Edit: I'll add in threads from the other forums, too, if people can point me to the active and important ones. This is a good way to track threads across forums, I think.

        Hi Guys,

Just an update on the NXT market at MintPal. We really regret to say that we won't be able to add it. While our scripts were largely working, we simply didn't have the confidence or understanding required for it, in comparison to Bitcoin and other altcoins, especially when it comes to handling trading.

We will be refunding all voting payments in 48 hours automatically, though you can contact us if you require an alternative arrangement.

        Full announcement here - https://support.mintpal.com/index.php?module=announce&sec=view&id=7

Unfortunate! Appreciate your efforts thus far MintPal! Let's keep the communication open... when Nxt has more developers, I am hopeful they would be happy to assist Mintpal.

We don't need another exchange like Mintpal. THEY need a coin like NXT. These exchanges are just like alt-coins. out for a quick buck. We need to support James and his DAC project. then we can change all coins and not pay fees to these leeches, who only serve to piss us off and not reply to messages.

And then go bankrupt. Or lose our coins.

Trusting (exchanges) is against BCnxts ideas.

         Trust no one.
