 Huh
Curiously waiting to know how its gonna work.
The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Getting a blank screen when opening Skycoin client on Windows. Can see the Menu bar though. Any idea how to troubleshoot?

> The best coin ever developed is still barely traded while scams of all sorts are highly demanded... Mad mad world

It is our fault. We do not have any information on the website and we are not communicating anything effectively at all. We need to communicate "What is Skycoin?".

When it is very difficult to communicate people "What is Bitcoin?". Bitcoin itself was a new category and there was nothing to compare it to. It was completely new. Now that people are getting familiar with coins, there is something to compare Skycoin to, so it is easier to describe.

However, we also need to describe it to people who have never heard of Bitcoin. Who are completely new to the crypto space.

I have just discovered SkyCoin & have been reading-up for the last hour or two.
The first thing I found in the FAQ section of the website, is broken links....

The concept looks very interesting. However it is hard to tell if the project is still supported by just looking at the website.
It would be great to see a proposed roadmap, and new blog entries on the website.

Reading these posts I see talk of a distribution, but I'm still not sure what that is about.
I will keep reading through, follow the project, and likely look at buying in once I understand the plan.

Seems like they need to setup some bounties for people supporting the public efforts Smiley

I think it's time to produce something workable before continue selling coins. It's in the best interest of you (higher next round price) and all coin holders.

Version 0.18.0 of the wallet was released today everyone can now download it at http://skycoin.net

Completely agree, the things that are being worked on right now are:

Secure Hardware.
A simple user facing application in the vein of core decentralization and security methods.

P.S. Please join the Skycoin telegram so everyone can ask questions directly -

So I got a wallet working but now I can't send anything. No error or anything pops up, just nothing hapens when I click send...

Does a certain threshold of coins need to be met before a block is generated? Is it not possible to transmit another transaction until a previous one is cleared from the same address?

Which version of the wallet are you using?

I'm using the newest version. There is clearly something wrong with the chain, a block has not been generated since 7:42 this morning (block 1362) based on the block explorer... I can see my transaction and 3 other ones just sitting in the pending transactions section of the wallet unconfirmed for over 6 hours.

Turing completeness does not make a coin magically a level higher than Bitcoin and certainly there is nothing innovative about Turing completeness.

Turin completeness is also extremely flexible - this reduces cyber security constant.  Wink

good point.

but why people pump eth?

Because most people really don't understand it and are amazed by «decentralized supercomputer» and «SmartContracts» concepts...

If you don't see the potential in smart contracts idk what to say. There's a lot of money to be made/saved in removing third parties in pretty much any industry you can think of. There's a reason actual big established companies are interested in eth, and the reason is- as always- money.

If you don't think there's anything innovative about Ethereum you are fooling yourself or trying to make yourself feel better for having missed the boat. Of course it doesn't seem innovative in retrospect, of course newer tech continues to come out, but eth opened the door and serves as the foundation for a lot of that tech.

I totally agree and I actually think they should announce the distribution rounds really early to give everyone the time to sell/buy and the market to adapt

Finally Grin
Guys, don't forget that skycoin sustained its current price with almost zero promotion.
Just imagine what will happen with more and more exposure.
