I'm guessing if the location is unknown they are using a default longitude of 0° and a default latitude of 0°--where the prime meridian and equator cross.

I only learned about the Bitcoin currency a few weeks ago, and have very recently set up an account at BlockChain.info I must say I'm very excited about familiarizing myself with this new currency and making use of the services offered by BlockChain.info

All,

Is there a way to view only my spendable balance in the blockchain wallet app for android?  I have a bunch of my paper wallets loaded as watch only addresses, but I can't distinguish from the bitcoin that are associated with any of the blockchain addresses.  Is there an easy way without having to remember the total balance of my paper wallets and subtract that from the total?  Thanks!

I have a question about blockchain.info implementation

https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/23052/does-blockchain-info-retain-the-wallet-password-in-client-side-memory

Quote
When you log into blockchain.info - you enter the password on the client side.

Does the password remain stored in a local javascript variable on the client side after the login process is over?

While I haven't yet read through the blockchain.info source code (it is open source, so you are welcome to do so if you like), the fact that I can create a new address without having to re-enter the password would seem to be an indication that the password must be stored client side.

Note, that the password is never sent server side.  When you "log in", the javascript requests encrypted private keys from the server using the "Identifier", and not sending a password at all (If you have 2FA turned on, then the server send a request for the 2nd factor authorization before sending the encrypted private keys).  Then the local javascript uses the password entered to decrypt those private keys and provide functionality to the wallet.

Quote
If yes, does that count as real a security risk? What kind of attack vectors does that open you to?

I'm not sure what you mean by "as real a security risk", but any malware running on the computer where you are accessing the blockchain.info wallet theoretically has the ability to capture the password (or private keys) and therefore steal any bitcoins associated with the wallet.  This would be true of any desktop wallet.

Note that blockchain.info is essentially just a desktop wallet that runs in a browser and uses cloud based storage of encrypted private keys.  It's a bit like storing an encrypted MultiBit wallet in dropbox.  Then you could download MultiBit to any computer you wanted to use it on, temporarily grab your wallet from dropbox, and decrypt it.  When you're done using it you'd just re-encrypt and send the updated wallet back to dropbox.  blockchain.info just automates all of this for you.

Thanks, this confirms what I know.
I was just wondering whether storing the password client-side in browser memory was really any worse to just using the password one type to decrypt the wallet, and then forgetting it - I guess the answer is "yes, but it's difficult to quantify by how much, and any malware has access to it anyway, so it doesn't matter ... and besides you need the password to be saved in order to save your updates".

blockchain.info team, can you look at this chart and correct the y-values which have been showing as zero for some time?

So you think it would be wise to be able to block other Bitcoins just because you may think they are stolen? Think more.

is there any way to block it?? or bitcoin is only for cheaters by being unstoppable?Huh?
as i can see bitcoin system made for to be able to cheat!

You are unlikely to find anyone to agree with you. However, if you do wish to contact miners, you should post a new thread to the Mining board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0

cash is cash is cash.

Apparently you fail to understand what cash is, and what fungibility is.

Yes. Assuming you own that address. If you created that address in your Blockchain.info account, you should own it (also, you have saved it in your backup, if you got it).

Meanwhile, you can check amount on the address on blockexplorer.com.

Hi Piuk! I have a feature request. Could you please make these symbols in the second row green? Grin

Edit: blockchain.info still is lightyears ahead of greenaddress.it but with nlock time and multisig they proof they go for a certain direction that could obsolete any existing wallet in the blink of an eye. These are the ingredients of micro transaction channels and I would bet they are sooooo close to publishing a working wallet for that and then it's network effect that will get everybody on board.
