over 35000 dash bought in massive buys in the last 2 hrs....hmmm looks like $15 is coming

Shocked Shocked Shocked   On poloniex or bitfinex or btc-e? There are so many major exchanges.

poloniex!

Nice, I will keep my 800 Dash for long term.   Cheesy Cheesy   Maybe 10X who knows. Dash will pump like in 2014.  Grin
If it were me, I'd buy 200 more Dash and start my own masternode. I think of masternodes as financial life rafts for the future. The price of a masternode is about $13k, and is starting to exceed the price of a good used car. The days of affordable masternodes may be drawing to a close. That's OK because masternode shares are available. It's just safer in the long run to manage your own.

Asuming dash is still around. It has a great community but the will just take a few people with large shares/mastenodes to sell out. What do you hunk the risk is for investors to sell out? I'm an investor and wish I bought more at the time.

Does anyone invest dash in a gambling site? I can't run a computer all day so can't do my own master node. Any other suggestions to grow my dash?

Forget gambling sites. You need a real game plan. A trustless game plan. Bite the bullet, get the remaining Dash, and then check out https://node40.com . It's a turnkey masternode service. Yes, it's getting serious up in here.

You can risk it all and loan Dash on Poloniex.  Loans rates can be 1%/day.   But that risk is high....possibly losing all of your dash.

Otherwise masternode.me like Moo said can host a node or even a share as small as 25 Dash.

Even better, if you have a skill or idea that can benefit Dash, submit a budget proposal with the 5 Dash fee and earn some Dash.  We also have a few contests in DashChat for a logo and slogan.   Free to submit - and we are giving away 15 Dash to the highest rated designs.  Our chat is over 600 members now, and we usually have people to answer questions right away.  Signup for the chat and more contest info is at Dashchat.co.

why can't I get my wallet to synch?

Dash Core version v0.12.0.58 (64-bit)

been stuck for 2 days now

stuck on 515095 and 11 days behind

Just under 1% of the time, wallets get stuck on superblocks (budget payouts).

Try:  Tools -> Wallet Repair -> Rebuild index

thanks i will try that

Hashflare: opinions?

My personaöl thought is to stay away from these cloudmining operations. With that said  have a X11 contract with Genesis Mining, but there one of the few companies that I see as legitimate, albeit expensive. I have always had a bad feeling regarding Hashflare, if nothing else, because of their fake testimonials on the site. Also there is no proof of mining, and just a few generic(?) pics of industrial equipment.

From the http://www.badbitcoin.org/thebadlist/
Quote
Hashflare.io/Hashcoins There is nothing credible about this operation, least of all the bs surrounding the datacentre. The author has connections to other scams 12/3/15

I would advise you Gi01 to look else for cloudmining options. What i did was to go out and buy a small baikal-asic and mine at home instead. It costs more, probably won't pay back, but at least I won't be throwing my money away at yet another fractionally funded ponzi cloudmining scheme. Besides, mining at home brings back the fun in mining again Wink

Suggestion for a machine to buy?

I saw you got three great responses for shared Masternode services. Pick anyone and you'll be good to go! I just wanted to say that it took me almost a year of mining, trading and purchasing BTC->Dash to get 1000 dash for my Masternode. It can be done, it just takes time. At that time I was mining about a dash a day or so with gpus, so it was different from the difficulties we have today.

Forget gambling and look into a shared Masternode service. Also, I think very few operate a Masternode on their home network. Most people rent a vps for high availability and high bandwidth. For instance Digital Oceans vps have all gbit connections, something few households have even if it is becoming more common.

Are you asking about an asic? I have a small X11 150 MHs Baikal asic, last I checked they sold for 500 USD. Their price in Dash was high, you'd be better off buying with BTC or USD directly instead of spending Dash. The dollar equivalent in Dash was like 30-40% higher, so better go with some other currency. That said, I am not sure if it will reach ROI, so maybe your best option is to buy dash directly and hold on to them instead. You'll probably make more money that way 😄

Hello Price Speculators.  Please use the Dash Price Speculation Thread, in the Price Speculation Sub, and keep this thread available for technical discussion.

Speaking of technical discussion, Dash's privacy scheme is being (unfavorably) compared to Cryptonote.

The discussion is being held on Monero's StackExchange, because Dash by a wide margin failed to qualify for StackExchange.

http://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/112/how-is-monero-compared-to-dash

Quote from: Alexde
PrivateSend does have a potentially serious flaw.

Each coinjoin requires a server to facilitate the mixing. This requires users to trust that the server is not recording details on where each user's outputs are ending up. Dash attempts to mitigate this risk by using what they call "masternodes". Masternodes are the servers which coordinate PrivateSend. These masternodes require a deposit of 1000 Dash to run. In theory, this collateral prevents someone from creating an arbitrary number of nodes for the purpose of recording coinjoin details.

Does this really mitigate the risk of coinjoin details being recorded, enabling transactions to be traced? Not reliably. The reality is that the majority of masternodes are hosted by a small number of VPS providers. These VPS providers could easily record the transactions being facilitated by any masternode that they host.

Please respond here or on SE if you have any substantive input to make on this important issue (price comparison/speculation does not count).

Unfortunetly polo doesn't have an easy way to see. I watch rates and # of dash available for lending.

It can hover around 20k open normally, but when there's only like 10k available that means 10k is being shorted above the normal average.

I also assume there is more dash being put up by lenders during times of high rates, and this should compound on outstanding loan amounts.

The xmr guys have a website that tracks their polo lending stats. It's pretty neat, but I don't have a link because I'm on mobile. Maybe someone can find and link it.
