Btw, can you explain what actually happened to cause this?  I might have missed it, but I don't remember seeing .58 being touted as mandatory update. Was this some sort of attack?

It's just amazing how people can spread fud.  Nobody has ever owned more than otoh, and he had almost 600,000 coins at one time - all bought while we watched here on this thread early on. He has since sold a LOT of them, at least half and probably more.  But the best part is that he sold them by spreading the word, and selling them to people he met or friends.  I'm one of them.  My Son bought his masternode from otoh, and now my daughters have gone in 1/2 and 1/2 on one this weekend.  

So anyone who wants to drink the Dash Hate Koolaid, go for it.  You're missing out on the greatest thing since the transistor!

Looks like it doesn't send any pings. Check debug.log for "CActiveMasternode::EnableHotColdMasterNode() - Enabled! You may shut down the cold daemon." message somewhere around the time you started it (time is UTC). If none, check for any "CActiveMasternode::" there and post back pls.

I see it now ENABLED. Should be ok.

Move your dash folder to another drive, and start Dash again by specifying a new -datadir from the shortcut.
Here's an old post from Reddit, but you'll see what to do:

F:\darkcoin>.\darkcoin-0.11.1.25-win\32\darkcoin-qt.exe -datadir=F:\darkcoin-datadir

Note, this was for Darkcoin so you just provide your new datadir and Dash will read the files from the path you provide.

If you mean that you need a way to launch wallet and point it to another folder then you need to use either "-datadir=/full/path/to/data/folder/" to specify datafolder for both daemon and qt on wallet launch or you can choose new datadir for Qt wallet (only) via "-choosedatadir"
