Dash is much more then just a privacy coin. Dash focus heavily on its transaction processing role, trying and succeeding to improving and strengthening that.

Dash vision is simple, become a mainstream adopted fast peer to peer low costs transaction provider as envisioned by Satoshi Nakamoto, that can provide instant settlement on its multi-tiered network. As a bonus it also offers optional privacy on its transactions.

For other cryptocurrencies  that focus solely on privacy (Monero, Zcash), one can indeed wonder if there will be growing demand
in the future or if it will remain a niche market to them. Already some of those cryptocurrencies show a declining volume and stagnating transaction numbers.

Regulators in South Korea, India, and the United States have shifted their regulation focus from attempting to ban cryptocurrencies to a lighter and more nuanced approach.

South Korean regulators will be announcing new proposed rules at an upcoming session of The National Assembly on July 13 to July 26. One regulator wants additional regulations on exchanges to prevent money laundering, cybercrimes, and data leaks, while another called for strengthening cryptocurrencies’ security measures. These desires follow the same path as the recent South Korean government’s announcement that they plan to reverse the ICO ban that was enacted in September of 2017.

Regulations, stricter ones, on crypto ecosystem are necessary to prevent scamming endemic and help the young ecosystem take off to higher position in human society.
