XCoin was the first name for this cryptocurrency that Evan Duffield came up with in january 2014 and is interestly enough
the reason why all our addresses start with an X.

Soon after that (february 2014) there was a rebranding to Darkcoin as XCoin turned out to conflict with an already existing
project carrying the same name. In march 2015 it got rebranded to Dash, to make it more suitable for mainstream adoption.
