My Big Takeaways from Dash Core Team Q1 Conference Call

Below are my key takeaways from the Dash Core Group Q1 conference call. The call in its entirety is available above.

1: Dash Ventures and network-owned revenue-generating entities
Ryan Taylor expanded on a new legal structure in the works known as Dash Ventures. This will allow new contractors to engage in legal agreements with the network, particularly for network ownership in companies and startups that receive treasury funding. In addition to providing a way of keeping proposal owners accountable and preventing new groups from simply launching their businesses at Dash’s expense, the legal structure can open up new revenue streams long-term, which can have the effect of improving stability for the Dash network and the currency itself, since Dash will be “backed by something.” All Dash Ventures assets will be owned by the masterndoe network, WITHOUT requiring public or private identification.

Dash is a magic coin. But there are also a lot of negative comments around the coin. But in my view, this is normal, and there is debate before there is development.

It is however not a trustless solution, meaning you will have to place some level of trust into it.

Both have excellent reputations and both do not require the full 1000 Dash, as other hosting service providers require you to do.

This week the Consensus 2018 conference kicks off, a high-powered blockchain conference charging thousands per ticket. What a jump from the time Bitcoin was a program being run by a few hardcore believers trying to mine as much as possible from their home computers. Yet, despite this nearly half-trillion dollar booming market with countless projects and companies, the world is still largely the same as it was a decade ago. Somehow, the main thrust of rapidly-growing crypto economy shifted somewhere along the way.

Cryptocurrency’s true power is exit

The real power promised by distributed ledger technology applied to a medium of exchange wasn’t better payments. It wasn’t more security, interesting tech, or the concept of immutability. It was the ability to build an efficient global financial system without the permission of any of the powers that be. It was the ability to bypass the restrictions of banks, governments, payment companies, and whatever other gatekeeper exists in the present economy, and transact freely regardless of geographical location, jurisdiction, or financial and educational background. In short, it was the gift of exit, the ability to successfully leave the old system that controls the world today. Crypto was freedom.
