Hard fork : 57 blocks, 2.4 hours left

This is wrong.

The fork is occurring at  14 May 2014 19:09:40 GMT.
? nvm

Hard fork : 25 blocks, 1.0 hours left

http://drk.poolhash.org/graph.html

No, it says "pchMessageStart change : -0.7 hours left" which is correct. The masternode one isn't happening for another 10 days. It is a hardcoded timestamp, which occurred over half an hour ago.

Has anyone looked into Bytecoin (BCN)? What are the main differences compared to Darkcoin?

Bytecoin is, from what I hear, ~80% premined (as they waited 2 years to go public), has no gui and only has ring signatures.

Darkcoin is 0% premine, has a functional gui, has coin mixing and will implement IP obfuscation and ring signatures in V2.

And will have a network of 1000+ masternodes which will allow all kinds of exciting possibilities we can't even imagine yet.

There are a couple based on cryptonote technology https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=568166.0;all

The main feature, that I can tell, apart from using their own hashing protocol, is one time ring signatures - ring signatures are due in darkcoin updates.

They based their anonymity on using ring signatures that mask sender identities, you can look into the details by reading the CryptoNote paper. This has been recognize to be a good feature and will be implemented into Darkcoin in the near future. So from a competitive perspective Darkcoin will have both ring signatures and the current decentralized coin join implementation. On top of that, i2P ip obfuscation will also be added to Darkcoin, so competition is healthy as it keeps innovation going, but I would invest in the Darkcoin development team's ability to continue to improve on the solution and adapt to market changes.

Here is a quote from Evan on ring signatures.

Ring signatures are going to be implemented in V2. I will begin development immediately after I opensource V1.

How do we compete against clones? Can they clone me? I work on this full time. In fact, I've only been at it four months. So far I've implemented DarkSend + X11 + DGW + Masternode payments. Plus, I've agreed to work on this project till at least Jan 2016 full time. So who on earth would invest in a clone?

LOL. This is insane.
I just crack-opened my VTC paper wallet to spend it all (VTC got a little pump today) and buy some more DRK.
I tried but the price kept going up and up until I had to give up and wait for some cooldown.  Roll Eyes

This is only with Darksend enabled. Current limit for it is 10 DRK. But with Darksend disabled there should be no limit.

I understand. Was just kidding, I think DRK regulars know the joke here.

Actually the thread can use some trolls again. Some of the regulars need training and haven't learnt how to deal with FUD yet. Some others have made huge strides in that department.

hmmn, im currently using version v0.9.3.3-unk-beta and I don;t have the option to enable/disable darksend.  Tried looking through the help command in debug and I dont see mention of darksend in there either.

Thanks for your help
