I'm glad I'm still holding my darkcoins Grin Grin

not selling under 5$

I am seriously not selling any under 500 USD and then just some to hedge my investment, and directly for fiat not interested in BTC.

EDIT:  Just think about the real world applications:  Political campaign donations, transfering wealth out of authoritarian regimes, buying/selling regulated goods, tax efficiencies, regular privacy, the list goes on and on. We are at the very beginning.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

One note though: Whether DRK will be profitable to mine or not, will not only depend on the block reward but also coin price. If, by the time X11 asics come, there are like 50-80-100 x11 coins, it might be the case that many of them might be more profitable to mine. The large number of x11 coins, is, in a sense, a guarantee for ASICs appearing at some point.

Sure, an abundance of X11 coins would make ASICs appear for X11. But, if none of them are pointed at a DRK pool, we still have The Bomb scenario, but then ANYONE could drop it.
How viable is it to somehow make it so that all the X11 networks are actually one network?  You mine DRK, you shore up the networks of other coins as well.

Hopefully that makes sense.

I think it would be great for X11 to have merged mining of multiple (or all?) X11 coins.

DRK's diminishing rewards with escalating hash is good for low inflation but can be a problem for protecting the network in the long run if it's not profitable to mine.

Merged mining would render X11 mining very profitable (multiple revenue streams for miners who dump x11 clones and shitcoins) and lend tonz of hashpower to the DRK network that it would otherwise not have. The thing is, is it doable? What would it require? I have no clue.

I'd be pretty amazed if the USD is worth anything much by the time we achieve bitcoin parity. (18 months tops is my guess.) By then you'll be able to buy your new toys directly with DRK, or trading it for Roubles or CNY.

Well there was an interesting exercise watching that flash crash after Evan's little "fright".

A lot of hands got shaken there. Talk about taking the pain quickly.

Also, people now know that if they dump below 55 it's just going to blow right up in their face, so that should shut all the fudsters up who've been saying it's over valued.

It clearly isn't (unless you want to argue with the market which quite a few on here do appear to want to do Smiley ).

I'm trying to believe in you, but it's going below your 55 mark again (at least in the poor cryptsy exchange) . Hard to predict the market. Trollers in both directions are typing fast.

Note: Arbitraje is dangerous when some players in the game are not honest. Cryptsy made other coins collapse before, be careful with this exchange, They didn't fill my orders few weeks ago in the middle of pumps and dumps with other coin, (orders sent hours before the dumps/pumps, I have proof of their bad practices on logs and screenshoots). They are promoting USD as a marketing tool, but they will never open this market (they will have a lot of problems in USA). Move to other exchanges and DRK will go better.

ATTENTION EVERYONE:

Please RE-update your wallets. If you've already updated for the May 14th fork you need to re-update with the new source (dated 12 May on github), otherwise you'll be on the wrong fork:

(we should bump this up every page as there are only 2 days left)

It seems like a great coin but those are things that can be done with other coins (already or very soon) why would someone go with DRK.
DOn't get me wrong I have some DRK myself (very very few) but tell why someone should hold them more if this looks like a DUMP period ?

If someone can't figure it out for themselves, perhaps they should go with those "other coins", as they went for meme coins, country coins, and all kind of shitcoins. That ended up well...

Why would you take advice from others on whether to buy, hold or dump when they have conflicting interests with you? I could tell you to sell and then buy your coins. Or I could tell you to buy and then dump you my coins. You have to make these decisions on your own.

29983 DRK on Cryptsy.

It first appeared higher on Cryptsy, before there was one on Mintpal. It was around .0055 I think. Then it moved down and appeared on both exchanges. Maybe the whale considers .0052 a good price to buy in bulk.

Edit: It's clear I don't have a life.  Cheesy I'm just watching the markets the last few days.

Or as I mention before, You can create a "ficticious" sell on one exchange (not honest exchange, no audits, they can create and destroy coins for their interest, they not need miners) and then aribitraje on other exchange, to recover back. Huge business.

A lot of hands got shaken there. Talk about taking the pain quickly.

Someone was selling already much prior to the announcement: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/cryptsy/drkbtc

The big red spike is far larger than those which ensued after the announcement, in terms of volume. Almost 40.000 volume.

Btw, apparently most people don't even understand what they read or the implications of what they read. Ensuring that the Masternode payment code is more ironed out before going live is a very good thing as it was obviously buggy.

Better quality = happy DRKers = happy markets.

Broken coin = sad DRKers = blood-red market.

I did not think it was bad for DRK, but I did expect a drop in price. The price rose a lot the last week in anticipation of the update, partly due to real buyers, partly due to whales pumping the coin up with the news as an excuse. Then the update is suddenly a few weeks off. The whole situation changed. Edit: And add to that people selling because they believe others will sell, and then people panic selling.

But as it happened, I came across Evan's announcement almost immediately, but my mind blocked it out because it looked like another mining pool message with its big, colored letters... so I didn't take as much advantage of the drop.

Ring signatures are going to be implemented in V2. I will begin development immediately after I opensource V1.

How do we compete against clones? Can they clone me? I work on this full time. In fact, I've only been at it four months. So far I've implemented DarkSend + X11 + DGW + Masternode payments. Plus, I've agreed to work on this project till at least Jan 2016 full time. So who on earth would invest in a clone?

Hi Evan, nice to see you come up for air, LOL Cheesy

Ring Signatures too? Dark is/will be the ultimate anonymous coin then..Ring Sigs plus Masternodes, that's perfect anonymity...
