Ring signatures are going to be implemented in V2. I will begin development immediately after I opensource V1.

How do we compete against clones? Can they clone me? I work on this full time. In fact, I've only been at it four months. So far I've implemented DarkSend + X11 + DGW + Masternode payments. Plus, I've agreed to work on this project till at least Jan 2016 full time. So who on earth would invest in a clone?

Ring Signatures is good decision.  Monero uses cryptonote protocol which implements ring signature technology for untraceable payments.  It's a much simpler solution to anonymity.

I hold both coins so I want to see both succeed.  

You're not fooling anyone. You've been slamming DRK on the Monero forum, and now you're here to make a polite suggestion to take a look at your fav Monero.

Seems like there's 3 coins using the exact same technology. Still uncertain which of these, if any will succeed. Out of the Cryptonote coins, I'm inclined to go with BCN, because no one cares about premine outside of miners. The coin that will win is the one with the best devs, that's all.  I do think that DRK will win the anonymity battle. It has the momentum. Regardless of what technology another coin has, once DRK is established as the anonymous coin, it won't really matter.  

People care about BCN ninja mine.  That's why Monero has surpassed BCN in hashrate in just couple weeks.

Monero devs are as good as any if not better.

DRK is lots hype.  Coin is one large complicated environment.  What happen when masternodes start get hacked because all these people without any knowlege are setting them up.  Then maybe government setup masternodes and control majority.  Things to think about.

Yes, this will be compatible with P2Pool by the 25th. Someone is working on modifications to p2pool to support masternode payments and they say they almost have it working.

-Someone wants to sell DRK so they put in a huge buy wall so that others gain confidence and put in buy orders that they can sell into (more likely)

Either way you're swimming with whales so be careful! Price does seem to be relatively stable right now but you never really know what the big players are going to do.

No this isn't more likely. The last time that a coin was spiking in volume (that I've noticed) there were hundreds and hundreds BTC buy walls on the market. If you plan to sell a lot, a smart trader would sell over time.

There's a cloud over this coin that has nothing to do with Evan's great work and all the innovation and features, and I don't think it can be dismissed. Maybe this instamining is it - I don't know. But the kind of good news and work put into this coin should've made it perform like BlackCoin in its heyday. Why does it continue to struggle like this (from the perspective of those of us who aren't early adopters).

People are so used to pumping and dumping of crypto coins.  Darkcoin has been increasing in price at a very steady rate, although it climbs steeply when there is something interesting happening, such as an article that gives exposure or progress on the features.  There is no drama, because a lot of people are being serious with this coin.  You don't get tons of people dumping, and pumping hasn't worked.

So, although we are doing super well, we don't have the drama.  We are mature, we are real.  I don't see a struggling coin at all.  I see one that stands out from the crowd so far, that it can only be compared to Bitcoin itself in how it grew.

The only thing that DRK is missing now is a community such as the one behind dogecoin. They are insanely active. Well this is correct. Big buy and sell walls often dissapear. I've recently seen a sell wall for over 40 BTC for DRK and within a few hours it was gone. I guess some bigger holders just want to manipulate the Darkcoin market.
