MASTERNODE WITH COLD WALLET

Hey Guys, I have seen some people still have doubts with regards to the Local/Remote masternode setup.  I just want to reconfirm that my masternodes are running perfect under the latest release with the wallet cold. There is plenty of information on www.darkcointalk.org on how to do it.

I am not and advanced tech guy, I do OK, so to me having my masternode wallet cold is crucial for my peace of mind. I honestly dont see any reason to have your wallet on the server and be inputing your passphrase there if there is a better option.  Just my 2 cents.

After the nvidia speedups, we now have some work done in the AMD front for DRK / X11 hashpower...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=616786

Note that this is closed source and gives ~2% to the author.

...and some users posting that only the the reported hashrate goes up (user-side),
the real hashrate stays the same...
looks like a scam...

Price means nothing at this stage without the main feature being implemented and vendors accepting DRK.

As soon as this happens, the price will rocket. Literally

Any ideas why btc-e are still throwing piles of money away & endangering their position as a significant altcoin exchange?

Does it take special time and effort for an exchange to add Darkcoin or are they just asleep at the wheel?

It looks like the masternode count has been inflated due to a bug in the old protocol. My guess is we have less than 50 masternodes (currently I see 34 active). This also means it's suddenly very profitable to run a masternode again.

50x Masternodes = (576/50) blocks * 10% of the reward = 7.7DRK/day

7.7DRK * $6.64 = $51.13/DAY

Masternode cost = $6640, so that's 281% ROI per year.

Run a masternode or having trouble syncing the masternode list? Please update: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/update-to-0-9-4-4-or-0-10-8-4-to-prepare-for-the-hardfork-on-may-25.712/page-2#post-4304

10.8.4 fixed all the issues I've been having, thanks.  Seems to work fine in local/remote config if anyone was wondering.

People need to get the fuck off Amazon though.  Over 65% of current MNs with one American host... that's willfully stupid.

They haven't changed coins for a long, long time. Hell, they didn't even add Doge which continues to have plenty of volume (not as much as it used to but still). Weird because I believe Koolio said he was a fan of DRK, yet here we are still not on.

Still absolutely shocked that FTC is trading... probably the only thing keeping it alive.

Let's say you wanted to run multiple Masternodes using offline local wallets...

Setting up several Masternodes in the cloud should be easy enough, if quite time consuming.

For offline wallets, the best idea I have come up with is to have multiple memory sticks each with a bootable OS and it's own DRK wallet on it. Label them according to which node they correspond to.

Anyone else have a better idea or see a flaw(s) in this plan?

Once flash drive fails you have 1K coins lost. I wouldn't trust one flash drive.
Also, why would you need OS there? Why not simply wallet folder?
The wallet.dat for each flash drive would be safely backed-up elsewhere.

Yes, you're right - each flash drive could simply run its own copy of the wallet. Easier than I thought.

Meanwhile, we've just been added to another exchange.

If btc-e can't find enough dev time anymore to add an alt that keeps closing in on BTC itself in terms of volume, that would possibly double their profits, how can they have their security, safety or support in order? Are they in decay & on the way out? Undecided

I'm kind of sad about that. Their trollbox was fun. I think I'll miss them.

Here's my amateur prediction for the next few days, based on the patterns we've seen so far:

Continuing correction from average peak 0.01535 by 20% to 0.01232 for the next 10-14 hours
Run up for 36-48h to average peak ~0.017.

Why? Simple.
Whales are out of coins for the small wave pumps. So drop the price a bit - not enough to hurt it - and slowly accumulate.
Weak hands sold - up again, rinse and repeat. Exactly what happened last weekend.

Only variable is the RC2 released in 4 days - may prolong these time frames - less coins on the market, slower accumulation and higher/longer run up.

so http://darkcoin.io/masternodes.txt shows 29 masternodes
and http://drk.poolhash.org/masternode.html shows 75

my machines (just updated) show 48 and 55 masternodes. My activated masternode did not show up in any of those list, so i stopped it now. Whats going on?

I just set mine up today and was showing 48 Masternodes myself included.  I have stopped mine about 10 minutes ago.  Need to figure out the cold storage method using Windows wallet  Sad
