All I know is I'd rather have a dedicated dev with a real name and face associated with the project that has continued to deliver vs some fly-by-night dev hiding behind the mask of a username with little dedication and a keen ability of copying and pasting code. Again, tell me one other dev that has committed to at least January 2016 towards the development of their coin, continues to achieve and exceed targets, and is openly transparent. Shockingly, I can only think of one.

Yeah, Satoshi Nakamoto made Bitcoin a failure.

You are just a holder clueless about actual cryptography and technology and it shows.

So far you have shown lack of knowledge and zero proof for any of your claims.
You are not responding to the arguments which are presented to you.

Therefore, you are ignored now.

I missed the train for DRK but that hasn't stopped me from trying to get on now. I have all my miners mining DRK now and am selling off my other coins to buy DRK. Yeah it's a risk, but isn't all crypto but I think this one has a long way to go.
[/quote

Risk? Hell I started crypto by investing 2000 into Litecoin when price was at 20$ lol
I put in more 1000 when it crashed to 10 first time.

So Drk is fucking cheap right now.

I believe the more useful comparison is waht can be accomplished by a dev who is not a ghost douche when we see what happened with a dev who is a ghost douche...

This community is starting to look like the Blackcoin cult.

I find it extraordinary that you have the cojones to come into this thread (from out of nowhere) and flatly dismiss the developer's alternative solution to ring signatures without having any idea whatsoever as to the nature of the proposed alternative, because it hasn't been disclosed yet.

Furthermore, your suggestion that the developer whose innovations are being adopted en masse across the alt coin spectrum lacks the skill necessary to implement ring signatures into Darkcoin is outright laughable.

You are coming off as a major league tool.  People are adding you to their ignore lists because you are coming off as a major league tool.

I had a fantastic conversation with Stan from Coindesk yesterday. It was about 25 minutes and I gave him a great overview of DarkSend and the masternode system. The article will be great for darkcoin.

And only a couple of weeks ago, I was thinking they'd never notice us!  This is awesome!

Totally LOVE AbFab!  Love Love Love!!!  So I had to re-quote!

This is for you, giveBTCpls (BTW DRK is so different now from Bitcoin, due to Evan's hard work and brilliance, what has Monero got that's different?)  Also for you again, suchnekky, only because I love ya  Tongue  Wink

I'm curious, are DRK people going over to other threads and advertising like this?  And trolling?  I suppose they probably are.... I honestly don't think much good comes from such things.  But maybe I'm wrong, I did go to look at what Monero and other coins people brought up over these past 6 months, mostly they made me depressed.  Not in the least interesting, and I really wanted to find another coin to "hedge my bets" but never found one.  I was spoiled discovering Darkcoin.  Nothing comes close.

+1, Evan already implemented Masternodes which serve as an incentive to uphold the network as well as provide anonymous transactions..There's no doubt that he's more than capable on implementing Ring Signatures and I2P. Anyone saying otherwise is a troll, trying to spread FUD/lies, and/or mad because they sold early.

Interesting thing this darkcoin. I bought some a week ago, and am very happy I did.  Cool

Thinking about setting up a masternode... but then again... I would NEVER DREAM OF putting a wallet on a server.

That just invites hackers to steal my DRK.

How do you guys guarantee the masternode holders are not just some noobs who have no idea about how to secure a server???

This is seriously dangerous...

I wonder when we'll hear about the first masternode losing all it's dark. (and possibly even some DRK of other people?)

Or am I missing something?

Other then that, I very much like DRK! And will continue to buy a few every day... :-)

Yes, you are missing something. The 1000DRK is just a collateral to ensure it is very expensive to attack the network. The coins have nothing to do with the Masternode roll of being randomly selected to mix a Darksend transaction. The masternodes play a role in the anonymity and they get pay for that service, the collateral coins are very unlikely to be stolen.

But wait a minute. My wallet has to be on a publicly accessible server with static ip. Visible to all.
My wallet must be on the same machine.

No wallet, no working masternode. Am I right?

So a hacker gets a free list of juicy static ips with each having a wallet of 1000 DRK, and we should just sleep tightly?

The best setup is to have 2 machines:

Machine A: Holds 1000DRK, runs as masternode. Use configuration option -masternodeaddr=machineB
Machine B: Holds 0DRK, runs as masternode.

There's no target.

Anyone setup like this on amazon (or other vps)?
Seems like a smart idea not broadcasting the 1000drk machines ip

Unfortunately yes Sad

They should be given one chance to check out the excellent FAQ thread/wiki

Second chance, send them over to gangbangers thread where they can get investment advice from each other https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=560138.0

When the ring signatures have appeared ? What are the advantages ring signatures have over darksend and what disadvantages ? I can hear only trolls with posts like "Darkcoin sux buy monero" and "Evan is lying , buy monero" .

Monero is interesting until you realize it's only a half-measure. I'm not knocking it. Many altcoins get part of the equation correct.

DogeCoin proved that mass mining even with mass inflation can still result in a functional cryptocoin because anyone can spend it due to anyone having it. No exchange needed, you can mine a truckloack, there is no diff.  It was considered a guaranteed failure, but where is it's market cap? Even with no exchange for most of it's lifetime. It shows us that deflationary isn't really a requirement. Being untethered is actually more important. Having a limit is nice, and a good thing. But it's not mandatory. Even if your coin gets the max coin limit all wrong, the decimal points will find their place.

It is these that feed DRK's total solution. Without the valid halfway-there solutions seen in other failed projects, it would be impossible to piece the puzzle together. It's evolutionary, but real because there are intelligent minds at work.

BTC started the experminet, and DRK is as close to a finalized solution that the crypto community has thus far spawned. With a dev that keeps moving along with the moving target, DRK has, by far, the best chance to become the final product that the BTC experiment was meant to catalyze.

ShitCoin daytraders and fanboys can't examine one leaf while also keeping the entire forest in focus. That's why I win and they lose.

Do what you want with that info...
