stabilization @ 0.018 would be great !  Waiting for my bank for buying more Cheesy

Unfortunately I think that was either a bear trap or some quick profit taking.

If you sold out of fear, you need to read this book.

If you sold, caused a panic sell and bought back, sounds like you have already read it.

Once the governments get involved things will change very quickly. Right now people are having all kinds of pie in the sky ideas about Darkcoin because there is a lot of euphoria around the price rising and all that, but I think the governments will move quickly and make any kind of blockchain obfuscation illegal. It is only a matter of time. Either that or anyone running a masternode or participating in any anon crypto will be branded an enemy of the state. I really hope I am wrong, but I have a nagging feeling that is the way things are going to turn out.

I think Darkcoin is great for anonymity stuff, but wider acceptance by public and businesses will never happen unfortunately.
We already have a wine shop accepting it. With proper marketing and brand positioning, mass adoption ala Bitcoin is not an insurmountable obstacle.

So what if they do?  Once I2P is in it''s not like they can do anything to enforce a ban.  I'm not even sure they can do much to enforce it right now.

Just the same, move your goddamn masternodes off Amazon people.

And US or EU hosts in general, for that matter.

I managed to convince a VPS service provider to start to accept Darkcoins Cheesy

They are running out of Iceland and have servers also in Sweden and Romania.
Also really big on anonymity. This is a quote from theyr front page:

"FlokiNET offers safe, anonymous and stable services. We will protect your project and privacy. Our main goals are freedom of speech and the right to privacy and anonymity. We offer solutions for any kind of secure communication, data transport and anonymous publishing."

They are also running several TOR nodes  Wink

Go cancel your amazon masternode VPS and sign up with FlokiNET and pay with your Darkcoins   Shocked

http://www.flokinet.is/

They also accept BTC, LTC, AUR if you dont want to part with your DRK

There is not yet a Darkcoin logo on theyr frontpage but hopfully you will see it there soon.
If you want to sign up and pay with DRK just send them a email telling them that you want to do so info@flokinet.is and Einar Jóhannsson will take care of you.
If you mention my name in the Email you might get some better deal Wink

Yeah I dont like Amazon ether, thats why I called up a few dozen VPS providers trying to get them to come over to the dark side  Grin

But I still hold part of my DRK... really.

And that's why you are a loser, literally.  You sold too cheap.

Darkcoin is pushing boundaries, for sure. And I like it.
Left 1/3 of my DRK in a wallet.
Sold 2/3 because this instamine it's too risky for me (maybe for others not and its also OK).
For me its too risky because of that:
Block1: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/block.dws?000007d91d1254d60e2dd1ae580383070a4ddffa4c64c2eeb4a2f9ecc0414343.htm
Block3250: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/block.dws?0000000346935d7ac3528f9e3ad169a4ccb08dca01b6fecd32a2421fc107bdb4.htm
1.625.000 DRK mined in one day (2014-01-19)

I think my decision was quite reasonable and my decision is my decision, live your own life ;-)
DRK - too good to ignore, too dangerous to hold 100% of the coins bought very cheap.

Maybe I have sold too cheap. Maybe. And maybe not? Maybe. Smiley

A hard for is just a code change that means that yes, you have to download the latest wallet.

Darkcoin is evolving and improving for the better, unlike most cryptocurrencies. Darkcoin can do this because it has a competent, dynamic developer, unlike most cryptocurrencies.

That one is run by the developers.  Sorry, I think it's a bit much for them to handle due to all the work...However I DO know they will take care of you.  Please PM InternetApe or eduffield.

Yes, and it went without a hitch. But you need to download the latest wallet and use that, if you haven't already.

RC3 Progress Report

I've had some substantial progress on DarkSend and have figured out how to make our existing system as secure as ring signatures. Vastly improved security, no bloat (from the ring signatures) and without actually having to trust new cryptography (it hasn't been extensively tested like what DarkSend uses) . So I think it'll give us a HUGE advantage in the coming months. More to come soon, I'm going to start implementing this tomorrow.  Grin

What this means: I promised ring signatures to hype my coin and get tech-clueless people buying, I knew this couldn't be done anyway so now I retract from it. This whole thing is walking on thin air. It's innevitable the money will naturally shift towards a coin that has actually a solid base to deliver anonimity, and Bitcoin technology based coins aren't as they are fundamentally flawed for this goal.

Hmm. Maybe when a fork is announced their should be a link to the fork part of the faq, which should have explicit clarification so noobs don't confuse it with the bad type of fork.
