I love how the entire content of the sky article is lifted from the recent wired article, almost word for word. Journalism at its finest.

Thanks Rupert Murdoch!

And Forex Minute

http://www.forexminute.com/bitcoin/why-darkcoin-value-is-surging-constantly-32634

"With its impeccable performance in the cryptocurrency market, we are sure that Darkcoin is not another pump-and-dump scheme created to fool users. Instead, this coin is really true in terms of its features. We are sure that in near future, it will gain more acceptance in mainstream markets. Although, it can be misused as well by the black markets – a thing which ‘unethically’ will help it to rise further."

What does version ...-dirty mean on http://drk.poolhash.org/ ?

Is a version control thing.  Indicates the git-controlled working directory has untracked (unsaved) changes.

It's the output of this git command: http://git-scm.com/docs/git-describe

As its Pizza day, can we get a bounty together to send Evan and Ape some Pizza?

There are plenty here that could do that on their own.

It would be better to have lots of people send small amounts of DRK to someone in the USA who can put an order in and pay for it. Tante is based in the US, I think, and might be ok to put the orders through. Anyone else able to?

It usually means something was modified in the cloned git folder (for p2pool could be the static web content or the start-up script to indicate the parameters). I try to keep it "un-dirty" for darkcoin.fr:7903.

RC3 Progress Report

I've had some substantial progress on DarkSend and have figured out how to make our existing system as secure as ring signatures. Vastly improved security, no bloat (from the ring signatures) and without actually having to trust new cryptography (it hasn't been extensively tested like what DarkSend uses) . So I think it'll give us a HUGE advantage in the coming months. More to come soon, I'm going to start implementing this tomorrow.  Grin

Is this in any way related to this:

I don't think the Evan has posted the info yet, but he has an idea how it could make Darkcoin impossible to trace!! We are not giving out the complete details on it yet, but "I" wanted to give everyone a heads up about a new feature that will be a very big improvement!!! I'm sure there will be people, trolls, that will say this is not possible, but when you get the details even the trolls will have to agree.

Look for the details coming out soon!

Anyway, I'm exctited. Grin Hopefully it's not just exaggerated promises. Smiley

10:59:49          wumpus | so, darkcoin is basically bitcoin core on an altchain with a coinjoin implementation slapped on top, but it seems they don't release the source of the coinjoin part (at least I wasn't able to find it in their repository...).. that tactic smells a bit fishy to me, although they're probably afraid of the ease with which it could be backported to bitcoin :-)
11:00:25         wumpus | but everyone gets to copy our stuff

11:04:07         wumpus | so instead of collaboration, development gets perverted into *add some feature, hype it up as a new coin*... it's one dev business model I suppose

There is nothing fishy about it. DarkSend will be opensourced once it's finalized.

Is this true?

Yeah, its true. Its FUD.

I read that the price skyrocket when the main feature will being implemented.

1. What is the main feature?

2. When will it be implemented?

There will be many features implemented, a Masternode payment fork is coming out on May 28th(7 days from now)

Along with the end of Version one and open source of darkcoin, then comes the implementation of Ring Signatures and I2P, practically making Darkcoin 100% anonymous in every way.

Masternode payment : May 25th
Timer : http://drk.poolhash.org/graph.html

Grin

Old schedule...

- RC2 (magic numbers changed to darkcoin, DGW3) : May 14th
- RC2 (masternode payments) : May 25th
- RC3 (10 DRK limit and denominated change) : June 14th
- After this, I'll find someone to vet the code and open source.
- RC4 (Bugs, security issues)
- Testing, then opensource

The masternode issues and the 3rd fork for the 25th actually messed up the schedule. I've been rewriting much of the code masternode technology (released yesterday, if you haven't updated please do!)

There's still some oddities with the election voting system that I'm going to tackle this next week. This I'll start working again on RC3 .
