Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

What this means: I promised ring signatures to hype my coin and get tech-clueless people buying, I knew this couldn't be done anyway so now I retract from it. This whole thing is walking on thin air. It's innevitable the money will naturally shift towards a coin that has actually a solid base to deliver anonimity, and Bitcoin technology based coins aren't as they are fundamentally flawed for this goal.

What this means: I missed out on this coin due to my ignorance and lack of intellect and now will come here and talk rubbish to vent my frustration

RC3 Progress Report

I've had some substantial progress on DarkSend and have figured out how to make our existing system as secure as ring signatures. Vastly improved security, no bloat (from the ring signatures) and without actually having to trust new cryptography (it hasn't been extensively tested like what DarkSend uses) . So I think it'll give us a HUGE advantage in the coming months. More to come soon, I'm going to start implementing this tomorrow.  Grin

What giveBTCpls means: I didn't buy DRK a few weeks ago, so I recently bought MRO, which is going nowhere fast. I am in denial about ring signatures causing horrible and unscaleable blockchain bloat, and am terrified that Darkcoin will shortly have an even better solution, so instead of behaving rationally I have come to this thread because the success of others fills me with peurile rage.

The coin is being developed for the past 5 months, with a great and steady progress.

Developer - real person - has delivered all the promised code so far. That's a good track record in my book.

Have you ever missed any good price waves? Here is a tool and it will keep you update:

http://v-coin.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=156

You will not worry about missing good waves any more.

PS: Try Google translation if you want to understand what people talking there.

Of course it sounds true, to a little fucknugget posting FUD like this.

i heard darkcoin has just forked. prepare for the dump, get out now. you heard it here first.

I'm sure it makes plenty of sense.

Hmm. Maybe when a fork is announced their should be a link to the fork part of the faq, which should have explicit clarification so noobs don't confuse it with the bad type of fork.

http://wiki.darkcoin.eu/wiki/FAQ#I_read_something_about_a_hard_fork._What_is_that.3F

This thread is way too long and active as to follow it if you are not really committed. Darkcoin is too big to be contained in just one thread. People who want structured information and discussion should come to https://darkcointalk.org. We are less there right now, but information is much more clear and there is less trolling. I love bitcointalk, but this thread is not manageable anymore and it's more similar to an IRC channel than to a forum.

SPOT ON MISTER!
Remember Litecoins run up to 48? You are about to withness the same thing. You have to look in marketcaps not in $'s.
We are going up to 50$
Because its simple. IT doesnt matter new coins come out with anonymity. I dont get why people dont get that.

DARKCOIN WAS The FIRST. And oldest. Thats all that matters. Monero will never get as much press write ups as Darkcoin has and is getting lol.
Bitcoin = Myspace.
Darkcoin = Facebook

Litecoin is kept alive because of BTC-e trollbox all supporting ltc. It has no innovation. No progress. No development. ITs a dead cat bounce.

I know Warren Buffett isn't a friend of Alts - but he did give some good advice that is applicable here - he taught to buy the market leader in each niche. For anonymous crypto that is currently DARK. The others like Monero are far behind, and even if they have good ideas, either other competitors will beat them, or Dark will simply steal their ideas and implement them as well or better (I have a high opinion of the Dark dev). Either way it's foolish to invest in the distant also-rans rather than Dark, IMHO.

I missed the train for DRK but that hasn't stopped me from trying to get on now. I have all my miners mining DRK now and am selling off my other coins to buy DRK. Yeah it's a risk, but isn't all crypto but I think this one has a long way to go.

This time last year LTC was not far off where DRK is today.
