Hey Darkies, X-men, trolls and all the other types who seem to be lurking around this thread.

Some other guy( I don't remember the name) came up with the idea to support Evan financially to create this amazing dev-team we've been talking about. After all it doesn't seem fair that he has so spend his own savings to make savings for us! I know some of you doesn't have alot of darks or btc either but I also see plain loaded users who should be busy munching plankton and setting out whalebait. A little will also do because as we say in Denmark: Mange bække små, gør en stor å (Many small creeks, create a large liver) I advice you guys to get this confirmed first before you throw you darks this way, just to get you use to having a sceptical attitude towards things like this. Just pm Evan and get him to confirm or maybe he could confirm in this thread. Either ways thanks and please help spread the word and let's get this devteam to kick some ass! Cheesy

Message from eduffield:

Hey, thanks for this. I made a software development wallet that I'll use to support all of the developers. It's address is here: XpAy7r5RVdGLnnjWNKuB9EUDiJ5Tje9GZ8

Thanks!

And now a brief PSA:

Please always check the primary source where the donation address was originally posted before donating to this or any other cryptocurrency address.  Why?  Even if an address is accurately quoted at first (I haven't checked), it can always be edited maliciously later down the line, or it can fail to be updated even if Evan abandons the donation address/wallet.

I believe the original can be found here, but doublecheck for yourself:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg6982496#msg6982496

I do not mean to impugn StefanJ's honor or reputation in any way.  He may be the most trustworthy man on the planet.  Just a PSA.

You're totally right. I just asumed it was the correct adress because he wrote it to me in a personal message. But yeah you can't be too careful with this stuff these days! By the way I really fucked up that saying didn't I?  (Many small creeks, create a large liver) WTF I meant river. Haha! Anyways you get it

Sent really tiny amount.

Buy the rumor (they said they fixed the issue), sell the news.

BitStamp, BTCChina, OkCoin and BitFinex might be adding DRK.

That's not a trip to the moon, that's a space programme

BitFenix allowing people to short is going to be hilarious. Now followers of "Rape Yourself! - Daytrading For The Fuller Figure" will be able to shoot themselves in both feet simultaneously, and also return from the future Michael J Fox style to shoot themselves in the head too.

Who's gonna short with all these multi-million whale buyers unless they want to margin-call themselves into bankruptcy?

Say DRK is 0.025 and they feel it can go down and short it to 0.018... then comes a whale and takes it to 0.025. They hit their margin calls and then the whale wins big by forcing the shorter into buying up to 0.03.

DRK is too dangerous for shorting it. Immense backers. "The only coin the government actually wants to buy" Tongue

Agree completely, but will be entertaining to watch numpties do it anyway. And you're right, some big money is on our side. Grin

Sir Richard Branson confirmed in the interview on BBC buyout of half all the Darkcoins.
Kim Dotcom promptly answered on Twitter that he's not selling him a single coin out of his 2.175.000 stash.
Sir Richard Branson threatened to take over Amazon & Digital Ocean and seize all his masternodes with the coins.

Ok, general question for people wiser than myself about blockchains.  Please note this is NOT about the dark blockchain. Reason for asking here is that here i might actually get an answer.  To continue:

Is it normal for a block explorer to occationally show that a block higher in the chain was actually created before one lower due to some kind of lag or... something?

To clarify what i mean:

example: We have the explorer showing block 100 was created at 5:10.  Then shows that block 101 was created at 5:08.

?

Nice job getting on Bitfinex if the rumours are indeed true.

One thing I am very interested to see is how the market will react after this excitement as you have two clashing entities -- the AML/Verification laws for Bitfinex vs. the driving anonymizing concept of Darkcoin.

A coin specifically designed to obscure identity and maintain privacy (Darkcoin) will now be traded on an exchange that requires verification of identity if you wish to enter or exit with USD (Bitfinex).

Many will say that no identity is required for DRK/BTC or DRK/LTC markets, and you can still play DRK/USD, but who will cash out USD? Will the DRK/USD market explode or will it remain relatively quiet on Bitfinex as the "elephant in the room" lingers?

In no way is this post hating on Darkcoin. I just find it extremely fascinating. I objectively believe cognitive dissonance will drive traders and the markets wild on Bitfinex and one side will win out. Will it be Darkcoin?

A very fun (and necessary) clash is about to unfold. Good luck!
I don't understand why people think it's a problem. You wouldn't send your DRK for your hypothetical shady deeds directly from exchange anyway. So what is the problem with doing the following?

1. You trade on exchange (being fully verified)
2. You withdraw DRK to your wallet #1
3. You send DRK to your wallet #2 using Darksend
4. You send DRK wherever you need using Darksend

Where is the connection to real identity?

most of the the explorers display the time it received the message of the creation. not the timestamp of the creation.
due to network-effects it can happen, that the node, the explorer depends on receives the messages in the wrong order.

so, yes, this can happen, and it is not a bug.
