Not only is the budget a tax... if you do not own a MN, you have "taxation without representation"
it 100% voluntary. you can sell for btc or fiat at any time however both those have pretty serious governance issue many of which are fixed/mitigated by dash.

if you do not own a MN, you have "taxation without representation"
Who's being "taxed" without being represented? Dash holders? Simply holding Dash comes neither with a "tax" nor any income to be "taxed", hence no right to be "represented". Miners? They vote and are represented by their hashing power and the client-implementations they use. If they don't like a proposal they can let the network die (and relinquish any income ofc) which is an even greater force than Masternode owners. It's like saying "Australians don't get to vote on how New Zealand tax money is spent, unfair!" Other than that I agree that the waiting period as well as the participation rate should both be raised. Yes and no... creating an extra 10% of a currency devalues what a person is holding by 10%... so essentially everyone is being taxed through devaluation of currency, otherwise known as inflation Not to mention, if these are legitimate expenses, you can expect the recipient to liquidate the Dash to cover the cost... Last I checked, no airlines accept $500 worth of Dash... they want USD... if the 10% did not go to governance it would still be going to miners and masternode holders. just like miners some of the 10% will dump some will not. so i guess btc and other pow coins have a 100% mining tax?

Last I checked, no airlines accept $500 worth of Dash... they want USD... Just on the point of currency creation: The reward before the voting system was introduced was split between the miners and the masternode owners. The only difference now is that 10% of that pie (which is being created anyway) is ringfenced for allocation to budgets. If none of the budgets get approved then the coins aren't created - so if anything it could be argued that it's deflationary versus the old reward structure assuming the full amount of Dash doesn't get allocated due to lack of good proposals. Remember - the size of the reward pie up for grabs between MN owners, miners and budget proposals is the same as it was when there were just miners and masternode owners. This is a really important point to make when words like 'creating currency', 'inflationary' and 'devaluation of currency' are used to describe the reward structure of Dash currently as it's simply not true... I would like to see Dash succeed, but if you turn it into an oligarchy, it will go the route of PayCoin... I do not want to see that happen
You could look at it the other way round in that Cryptos are already an oligarchy of miners taxing 100% of new supply, and they spend the funds purely in their own self interest. Reallocation of upto 10% of new supply to the network to spend as it wants means those funds are spent on the shared interest of the network to increase value - if you had e.g. a distribution business and 100% of revenue was going to warehouse workers, with nothing going to pay drivers / accountants / sales / marketing / management / rent & rates, that business would fail. Crypto is a bit different as it's born out of volunteerism, but miners are benefiting from all the value added out of pocket by community volunteers spending time / expenses to grow the currency without sharing any of the revenue meaning it's being held back. If a crypto wanted to compete with e.g. PayPal, how far will it get with miners ring-fencing 100% of the revenue versus large corporations allocating (e.g.) 23% to shareholders and spending the rest on capex / opex to compete / provide a good service as needed. Another thing is it's quite hard to do, you kinda need a collateralized second tier to handle reallocation / decision making / fund allocation. If it was easily doable with a homogenous / sybil vulnerable network like Bitcoin's maybe Satoshi or whoever would have done this already, that's pure speculation of course, but it seems like a logical extension of the existing incentives model made possible by Dash's architectural improvement.

Another night of Asian stock implosions in progress.
Europe opening's going to be interesting. Looks like every quarter turn of the globe skewers a few hundred billion of equities at the moment.
I'm watching the oil ticker just plummet in front of my eyes - the only think I remember seeing dump that fast was mooncoin.

Guys, I hate to side with our resident monero troll icebreaker, but the design of the dash and drink front of the vending machine looks a bit undesireable - the cans really do look like cigarette butts.. makes it look off putting.. anyone else agree?

Last night I presented for Dash to about 100 peopleSo my 2016 has started in a great way, last night I presented in an entrepreneurship event and explained Dash to people. Crypto was not the only topic on the night, so my presentation was part Dash part traditional business, which made it even better as the audience was not a crypto audience, instead it was all people interested in entrepreneurship and technology start-ups which is a great audience for us. After the presentation several people came by to learn more and I will probably do a webinar for some to learn more specifically how to get involved with DASH and get their first coins. I encourage all Dash supporters to get out there this year and just talk about Dash. We are already a movement that goes beyond online forums and this is how we will continue to grow.

Impressive! Maybe you could add some props for the next one, like a little PI terminal with a screen. Than you can really get people jazzed up with something tangible.

I thought of bitcoin when I saw this. The record is bitcoin with 10 minute block times. The laser no touch system is lightning. Of course, the Dash comparison is a smartphone that can play music too, but also sends email and calls people. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Last night I presented for Dash to about 100 people
In November, I was asked to make a presentation to group that focuses on Decentralized Governance and Crypto. I ended up speaking about DASH for over 2 hours. Amazingly smart crowd with excellent questions.

You guys sure are proving to be a powerhouse on the promotional front as well as in development ! you think moving beyond online ensures growth or success? LEOcoin by far outpaces you in terms of "going beyond online" by doing MLM ...but their coin is crashing why? it is a scam coin like yours ..oh it is not a coin but a "digital scam cash" (digital cash) DUHHSSHH! LOL!
