Perfect timing for DASH with Miami and Evolution around the corner... Is Peter Todd secretly on our marketing team :-)
You could be forgiven for thinking so but no. He deletes Tante's posts on Reddit whenever she tries to contribute to his thread. Peter Todd famously referred to Dash as "snake oil" LoL. But he subsequently lost that argument as is now being borne out be recent events on many fronts - monetary fidelity, governance, commercial compatibility and accessibility.

It sounds like his head is all over the place. He realises Bitcoin has many issues, which he constantly highlights, which many see as a bitcoin developer attacking his own creation but he can't bring himself to see the light because he is too far down the Bitcoin rabbit hole, so he fights DASH instead. It's not so much "seeing the light" as what I was talking about on the previous couple of pages - that technical development is a question of establishing design priorities of which there is a choice. The priorities and the science involved in creating money are so far removed and divergent from those of developing information transport networks that you have to have an extraordinarily solid awareness of what your objectives are in order to keep sight of them. For example, Todd sees very little distinction between a 10 second wait and a 5 minute wait for confirmation, and from the standpoint of security alone there is indeed not a lot of difference (i.e. for him, it's just a question of degree, from low/no to high security). On the other hand from a different perspective - say a commercial one - the distinction is stark because as I highlighted earlier in the thread, these are two distinct markets - on the one hand instant transactions (point of sale market) and settlement on the other. Then from a monetary perspective, the distinction is again just as stark because we are talking about the difference between cash and non-cash by definition (and increasingly formalised definitions as that presented by the ECB). Nor do third party services like payment channels adequately address this as he suggests - unless you want to throw out the original objective of an indigenous cash medium. So it's not enough just to look at these priorities intuitively and state that it's a question of degree of confirmation. You have to take all design perspectives into account and if they are in conflict then acknowledge that fact and address them independently - as Dash is doing with its complimentary tiered protocol. He is not interested in doing that (at least not within the scope of the blockchain protocol) which is why he's getting all this flack from the 0-conf lobby.

My specialty. I love to get under their skin... I'm not a nice puppy sometimes. I don't see your tweets in the #bitcoin twitter stream. I usually only stay in the top tweets for a few minutes before getting bumped, but I have plenty of followers from the Bitcoin community. My messages usually get across. More RTs help obviously, but it's early in the morning.

Blockchain conference London being streamed live: http://www.shinestream.tv(They're on a break till 11:25 GMT). A few banker guys have just been speaking about how central banks will be issuing money on blockchains and what the implications will be for the world. I thought it was laughable but they seem to be very serious about it. He was talking about saving 30 quid on a mortgage transfer, saying that was 'not acceptable'. (He didn't mention anything about saving $16 trillion on fake liquidity and misdirected interest).

It's a fair assessment based on doing an on-the-fly-mix and send. Dash mixing does work, it's just hit and miss and can take a few hours depending on the amount and rounds you use. Having said that, a couple of times I've mixed 200 dash over in under 2 hours. This isn't the norm though in my experience... The length of time isn't a problem in many respects as long as you're not in a hurry to send privatized funds. Walter Also, Dash requires more funds. I mean you have to break it down into denominations, and he was using so little Dash. On the other hand, all this will change with Evolution. Still, yes, if you want to mix like that, and don't care about what the coin offers in stability and auditability - and you're fine with taking a chance buying then selling a coin, sure, monero is the way to go, IMO. I wouldn't want to keep my funds in monero. I don't trust it and think that at the first sign of questionable status of how many coins are "out there" people are going to jump off that boat. But then again, we all live in a fiat world, don't we? Coinbase transactions are mixin 0, therefore transparent enough to verify whether someone tampered with the supply. If this is the case, it would also show up at blockexplorers. ZeroCash for instance, obscures all transactions. Therefore, one cannot verify itself whether someone tampered with the supply, which is probably their biggest issue. For instance, someone could exploit a bug that generates additional coins and no one would notice.

..... love at first sight story with dash?
I'm going to get flak for engaging you, but...its been bothering me as to what your issue is with "love at first sight" that was the case with my wife and I...and 11 years later still going strong. I certainly loved the concept of a out in the open developer, his real name, where he worked, his spouse/girlfriend and where he lived. In the what appears to be the seedy crypto world, this stood out, enough so that I actually substantially invested in those first few weeks on merely a gut feeling. And truth be told...I did really REALLY well. Bonus. A man who's willing to put his name to his project and willing to take his lumps that goes with it and doesn't hide under crypto user handles, got and still gets my vote. I don't see your real name out there Mr. Arielbit. its been bothering me as to what your issue is with "love at first sight" Its been bothering me too why there are love at first sight user accounts, some are close to DASH launch date and first post are darkcoin (non newbie-ish). specially that they are DASH "shills" just like you..january 5 signup, first post DASH (non newbie-ish)....DASH foundation member and shill and .. well I have no issues telling my story on how did I find DASH I certainly loved the concept of a out in the open developer, his real name, where he worked, his spouse/girlfriend and where he lived ever heard of Bernie Madoff? .... he is out there in the open I don't see your real name out there Mr. Arielbit. how about asking the same questions to DASH shills "love at first sight btctalk user accounts" that? ...I'm their "Equalizer"

The point was probably that RBF is not going to break 0-conf payments... because, well, they were already broken. And instead of making the point in forums, again and again vs those who were anti-RBF, he just demonstrated it with a bang.

I enjoyed this little bit of fun. Thanks for contributing and posting.
I've been gone and catching up for awhile, cool idea. I would have liked to see some organic options and not the classic big corporation who dumps poisons into their product (or uses fetus material for flavor testing), but that's an ongoing fight in everyday life. Late to the party, but give some of these a try someday and you won't be disappointed. http://www.hansens.com/us/en/products/soda/blue-sky/Orange-Divine/

Because they found something they were looking for, while you are still in a shithole Haha. True. I still don't understand what point this idiot is trying to make. Might as well be saying, "A portion of you created your btctalk account around the time a coin you are interested in launched, you seem really interested in the coin because you post here a lot, and you don't sound newbie-ish (a.k.a., stupid)." Sooooo? Is there a point somewhere to be made?!? I'll take that I don't sound newbie-ish as a complement, but I don't know what the implications of the rest of his posts are supposed to insinuate. Maybe if you try hard enough, a few facts strung together can sound suspicious... let's see: 1) You was born the same year as the Kennedy assassination 2) You have a friend with the first name "Ruby" 3) You wrote a paper on the Kennedy assassination in college, so you seem very interested in what happened that day You caught us arielbit! We assassinated Kennedy and there are hundreds of Dash users all over the globe that are part of a conspiracy to commit fraud on, um, so far ourselves... investors in the project.
