When Ryan made the "major exchange" proposal, he said that this exchange had agree to give InstantSend a look and consider using it. I was taking a look at DASH's volume, and it looks like Poloniex still has 67% marketshare even though Bitfinex added us a week ago. Bitfinex only has a 2.5% share right now. I'm sure this will change in time, but for now it doesn't look like Bitfinex is making much off trading fees.

It occurred to me that the "major exchange" is probably noticing the same thing. Simply being "big" isn't going to be enough to move significant volume to their exchange. They are going to need something to differentiate them from Poloniex, and also from Bitfinex. What could be better than the adoption of InstantSend?

tl;dr The odds of the new "major exchange" actually integrating InstantSend are probably pretty high, assuming they are satisfied that the code is safe.

Bug discovery

His later approach of working to improve the existing codebase arguably worked better than expected though, leading to a “Satoshi-era” bug discovery.

“As I started to break things up, I noticed something odd about Core's bandwidth usage during initial block download,” Fields said.

The problem was that, when a node would download blocks from another node, the speed at which blocks were passed along would be sometimes fast, other times slow – and at unexpected levels.

Digging further, he and other developers determined that nodes would stubbornly refuse to send data and process data at the same time (though this is an oversimplification). The node would just do one process at a time.

Speed fix

The fix the team finally arrived at saw its debut in the recent Bitcoin Core code release, changing how quickly nodes can pass information to one another.

“In particular, the p2p layer gets a huge speedup,” Fields said.

He ran some tests to compare the last bitcoin version (0.13.2) with the new version with the improvements (0.14.0), looking at nodes that were deployed to the cloud on Amazon EC2 instances with two CPUs and 4GB of RAM.

The tests showed a doubling in speed – at least, when comparing the performance of sending data between two v0.13.2 nodes, versus between two v0.14.0 nodes.

Could be usefull for Dash too

I know the Instamine Meme has been very annoying since 2014, but I suggest we should be thankfull now. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many short sellers who keep up the lending rates at Polo way above MN return rates for several weeks now and the price rise would have been much more parabolic and disorderly without the relentless short selling.
Please keep fighting the "Instamine Scam" by short selling into the bull run dear crypto justice warriors!

exactly what i think, too - the shorts are driving us up, and the short sellers are the "this is a scam, that price is not sustainable" folks Smiley i like them :O

Cost averaging is often a good idea, buy a little every day or week over a longer period of time to get in at an average position.

I doubt it.  There is no way to really know where the attacks come from.

iCEBREAKER was testing his pea shooter.

All it took was a single tiny little pea to take down DashNinja and 12% of all DisasterNodes.

Sad!  Embarrassed

If only Masternodes could take advantage of IPv6 instead of being stuck back in 1981 with IPv4.

Isn't it great how the incentive for Masternode owners to attack other Masternodes rises with the price of Dash?  Such a well designed incentive structure (not skewered at all!).

If only Evan hadn't lied about Masternode blinding being enabled in 12.1, 500+ Masternodes wouldn't have gotten BTFO and lost their place in the Ponzi payment queue.

Tante, you have no business buying more Dash at the top of the market.

You should be a responsible parent and start taking profit for the sake of your lower middle class family's future.

You are setting a horrible example of fiscal irresponsibility and gambling addiction by acting as if the good times will last forever and no thought need be given to what happens when the music stops.

You are demonstrating exactly why poor people stay poor.  Rather than doing the right thing by mitigating risk via profit taking, you do the opposite and greedily expose yourself to more.

Oh well, at least you'll have a good story about the time you "Could Of/Would Of/Should Of" banked >$100k for the sake of posterity, but instead decided to act like a feckless grasshopper rather than an industrious ant.

Well said. That's the financial advice you should give to all people trying to make a buck. Some profit should have been taken at this stage.

On the other hand, you make people to buy your beloved tokens (xmr) at the peaks before it crashes, and at the bear market right now.
You are still a scammer. Stop painting yourself as a White Knight. You are fraud. We had one some time ago just like you. It was one of your buddys.

So.  I decided to do a very unscientific test on this.  Brought up both DASH and BTC wallets and timed them to fully sync.

First DASH.  It was 10 weeks behind.  It took 11 minutes from the started time until it was fully synced,  Including master node info and proposals

Then BTC    It was only 8 days behind  It took 4 Hrs 15 minutes.

This doesn't take into account my wallets, which the BTC one could have more address to check, but not a huge amount.  Also I don't know how the number of transactions in a block come into play.

I knew BTC was a dog, but I didn't realize just how much.

*could have/should have/would have.  At least @tantestefana's kids might be able to fucking write.

If tante acts like a financially responsible adult parent rather than a greed-struck immature gambling addict, she might be able to send her kids to a school that teaches them about idiomatic expressions.

That would put her at least one notch above your own parents, who failed to instill in you the gift of literacy.

Here, I'll take pity on you in the form of remedial instruction.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/woulda,_coulda,_shoulda

http://www.wisegeek.org/what-does-woulda-coulda-shoulda-mean.htm

But let's get back to Dash.

Do you think it's responsible for a lower middle class mother to eschew an opportunity to bank enough money for her kids' education in order to keep chasing the top of an obvious bubble?

Before you answer, remember it's entirely possible to cash out half of the money and let the other half stay in the altcoin casino.

In what world it is fiscally responsible to not only refuse to take any profit, but also put in additional money taken out of a lower middle class household's limited budget?

Isn't this kind of recklessly risk-embracing ghetto-rich behavior exactly why poor people stay poor?

Whats with my kids?  LOL  Yah, they're too smart for their own good Tongue

Sorry, I couldn't resist after I saw in someone's quote that iCEBRETARD was trying to claim you were setting your "kids" a bad example whilst demonstrating that he himself is only an example of arrogant stupidity and how important it is not to bunk off class.

To any kids reading, go to school.  Learn.  Don't be a dick.

@jubalix: How do you like that Bitcoin instamine? One million coins all going to the same person...damn!

Yes that person invented the whole damn thing, so probably worth their work.

I feel pretty good about it actually, Satoshi could become the worlds richest person / entity and worth over 1T.

Also not a programing bug...

When btc did have an emission bug, the hard forked or rolled back or whatnot, UNLIKE Dash
