Is there an estimated date on DarkSend being out of beta and a "finished" product?

So here's the plan for development:

1.) Beta V4, V5...  - Large changes that require everyone to upgrade to use DarkSend
2.) Beyond this point, DarkSend is ready for real use and will be available in binary form (closed source still)
3.) Release Candidates - RC1, RC2, etc - I'll be taking bug reports, but these are smaller changes and none of them should require everyone to update
4.) First stable release - I think this stage should also be closed source until we're sure everything is perfect
5.) Public audits, where the closed source is shared with someone who people trust to review DarkSend (I'm not sure who that would be yet)
6.) After all audits pass and we have a real product, opensource

Currently we're in Beta V3, I'm working on V4 right now. I'm fighting some bugs then I'll do another release

Very well! Thank you.

Since I can't find a calculator for this, is my calculation somewhat accurate for a single R9 290 doing 2.5MH/s?

{24/(475*2^32/(2.5*10^6)/3600)*20}*(1.5*10^-3) = 0.0032BTC/Day

You can go to http://webchat.freenode.net/ and connect to the #darkcoin channel. Enter !calc 2500 in the chat, it will tell you how many coins you would get per hour at the current difficulty.

Quote
DarkCoin [DRK] estimated income for 2500 KH/s @ current difficulty of 446.4451 = 0.09 DRK per hour (0.00013105 BTC/$0.08 USD), 1 BTC in 317.95 days
2.16 DRK/day is pretty close to my calculation of 2.1175.

Hi there,

Why such complicated calculations?

Use (y/z)(2222222/(((x+2600)/9)^2))

Where
X = the current difficulty
Y = Your hashrate
Z = Total network hashrate

The result is per block. You have 24 block per hour and 24 hours in day Grin

It seems like even more coins are interested in Darkcoin's X11 algo.

Einsteinium is now voting towards switching to it.

I don't understand why maxcoin gets so much attention. The launch, from what I've heard, was beyond all critique, neither can I find any big technical innovations. I believe that most people simply follow the hype, there are too many coins to keep track of right now.

It was very hot but now speculation momentum seems to have become insipid

Hard to support Hircoin, they went about it the wrong way despite the cloner coming here and trying to play smooth douche. They are not even the first clone I think? I know I read a few pages back when the first one was launched. They seem to be all about the marketing for sure but that's not gonna last https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529111.0 Some provocative statements are gone but statements like this "Right now the only other X11 coin is Darkcoin. Darkcoin is also excellent, check out their ANN" makes it retarded.

It seems to be receiving more backing from established/long time members who dont like Darkcoin.

How can people not like Darkcoin?  It's not at all a clone/scam coin, unless you feel that all crypto currency is a scam, and we're such a nice bunch?  I really can't imagine that we're unlikable!

Sorry guys, a good guide to Darksend (what it is, what it does)?

BTW, how do I update my wallet version? I just download the new .exe and open it on my pc?

An explanation?  DarkSend is the technology behind the Darkcoin wallet that mixes up payments so that you can't tell who sent what to whom.  It uses the idea put forth in coinjoin, but adds other layers to hide where the coin came from or went to via single use throw away addresses and converting funds into blocks of denominations that are all the same (100, 10, 1, 0.1, 0.01...) So the sender deposits the same amount as all the other senders in the pool, the funds are organized into payments by the Master Node (a random user's wallet) and when it is all ready to be sent out, The payment, the fees, the return change, everyone has to sign they agree, including a "Slave Node" who would take over if something happened to the Master Node.

So as it stands now, and I'm sure Evan has implemented a lot of refinement, there are 3 levels of obfuscation:

Coinjoin type of system
hiding in numbers (all input amounts the same)
single use addresses

Hope that helped.  On the first page there is a white paper with everything a person could want to know about Darkcoin.

Thank you, that was very helpful
