is it possible to mine solo against the qt? or do you have to set up a pool locally..
I set up my conf file as server, but sgminer says the pool is dead.
Three solo method. 1) qt 2) qt + miner 3) qt + stratum + miner for 2), use -o http://127.0.0.1:9998 -u rpcuser -p rpcusrpassword. You can use https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin-stratum for 3) efficiency : 3 >>>> 2 >> 1 thxs for input.. I am trying #2. miner reporting [11:35:02] Pool 0 slow/down or URL or credentials invalid I have the proper stuff in the config (or so I think) I guess just wanted to know that it is still possible. If you use correct rpcuser and rpcpassword used in darkcoin.conf, solo mining is possible. Check rpcuser and rpcusrpassword. I have rpcpassword, not rpcusrpassword trying rpcusrpassword i get an error that I have to set password.. so the qt is starting in server mode.... frustrating.. maybe sgminer assumes stratum and you cant do getwork anymore..

I am not trolling here but want to share a very important fact - Never get attached to a currency, it can prove to be disaster. All this is pure business, keep the emotions away
Some of us aren't in it for profit. Sure it's nice, but to me the technology is more important. For me it's not "pure business".

Sellers are drying up. Price rising fast. Someone just wanted to cause a panic so they could get more cheap.
[edit]: the sellers are back

"I am not trolling here." First sign of trolling. It is not about emotional attachment, people fixate too much on the market part, fundamentals are more important. The way I see it Darkcoin is a crowd sourced startup company, if you think the business model, Development team, community, etc. Are something worth investing in then do, and by investing you are taking a calculated risk based on all the information available. There will always be people day trading. Their goal is to lock on daily profits, everybody needs to decide whether they are a daytrader or a long-term investor.

Folks. Don't get too excited. This will take another day or two to correct (which means it may dip as far as 7 or 8 on low volume before completing its correction cycle back to about 11). The rise was massive and it needs to be consolidated. Also, it occurred over a period of days (basically a week). So don't expect any fireworks for several days and even at that all it might do is stabilise and set a new base before proceeding. Be patient and stick with your preference - either you're day trading, in which case take profits now, or investing in which case read the project roadmap to see if there's anything on it. That's all there is to it !

Sorry, I'm a a bit lost in technicalities...
My main wallet is Mac 0.9.3.3, and have 4 VM ubuntu on 0.7.4. Is it safe to send fro 0.9.3.3 to 10.7.4, or do I have to backup wallet, updated to 0.9.4/ 10.7.4, and copy my main wallet over to them?

2. DGW is another correction of something that already exists. It's just a rebalance of something that was not fast enough at what it was doing. I can't be sure on this point because I haven't bothered to read the code yet, but I suspect this is true.
Then I stand corrected. My main point on my last post however (which I forgot to make) is that I bought in on drk because despite these 3 things not being the most amazing things, drk has a good balance and remains good steady ground with all 3. However, the achilles heel of this is that they all came from 1 person, and not a development team.

Keep deluding yourself... this is just a bull trap.- ymer. Why didn't you just buy when you said it was too expensive? Eduff is a great dev. I know you like to troll ,as you admitted to getting off on it.

It's safe. Both wallets are on the right fork, although you might want to update the Mac wallet to 0.9.3.4
