Guys. I want to announce you all that after long periond TODAY at 7:12 for me and for my wife is BORN our first..... 0.7 DRK. LOL!!! so excited Great feeling. Now I can drink with you JD Try it if you didn't yet, 1000drk is worth of it. ROLF! I really thought you were going to announce a child I've already been lucky a couple times and man, that feels good! Couple of times on 1 MN or spread out over more? Still waiting for a payment... not being greedy, I just want to know if my MN setup is working or not Different masternodes, but I have only set up two, so I guess I'm being lucky Be patient, it's still too soon to tell. Have you checked your MN's address in the blockchain? You may not have the payment in your wallet yet because they need a lot of confirmations, but it may be there. yep checked the blockchain. nothing there. I know it's too soon and that I should be patient. I'm just worried that there's no other way (at least that I know of) to check if your MN is working properly besides getting payed...

Can someone clarify this please? Quote from above: 1x Masternode = 576 blocks * 10% of the reward = 1036DRK/day
I thought 24 hours x 60 minutes / 2.5 minute blocks = 576 blocks per day
Block reward = 5 darkcoins per block. Therefore, 576 x 5 = 2,880 darkcoins per day
10% = 288 darkcoins per day
288 / 371 MNs = 0.776 darkcoins per masternode per day
That math sounds right to me. Ok, if the maths is right then, ANNUAL return per MN based on number of MNs: 371 = 28.3% 500 = 21% 750 = 14% 1000 = 10.5% 1500 = 7% 2000 = 5% This is based on the price at the time you buy the MNs and assumes the price does not change. Therefore, in time the system will probably level out at 2,000 MNs for a 5% return. However, this implies 2 Million darks, which is almost 50% of current coin supply. This also implies the price of Darks are likely to skyrocket, if people kept trying to setup MNs. For example, if people tried to setup 1,000 MNs, this would tie up almost 25% of total coins, to generate a 10.5% return on investment over a year + upside on darkcoin price. No doubt about it, darkcoins are the best investment of 2014. Excellent helpful post, thank you! But it actually confirms that you get what the graph says, doesn`t it? So I don`t get what the other guy with the $ 150.000 invested was saying who was worried that you get much less per MN than expected? Or was it already fixed (I`m a IT noob, but I`m reading EVERY post in here since the first, but I still have problems understanding what the code experts post).

My 1st 0.7 drk too That's $10 per day x 365 = $3,650. Even if you bought in at $14, which I doubt it. That's a return of $3,650 / $14,000 = 26% not including darkcoin's future price appreciation. Wow, thats a crazy good ROI, which is also leveraged by DRK/ BTC price appreciation. Huge potential. Yikes. 1) Are there a limit to the number of masternodes? 2) what is the status of the fork at this instant (4:30 AM EST)? Give me the low-tech overview. Has it not gone as smoothly as planned? Was it even supposed to go as/more smoothly than it has? How much is remains to be done; actual and potential problems etc? What does tomorrow/ later this afternoon look like? Thanks. No hard limit on MNs but my calcs indicate it will level out at 2,000 MNs: Ok, if the maths is right then, ANNUAL return per MN based on number of MNs: 371 = 28.3% 500 = 21% 750 = 14% 1000 = 10.5% 1500 = 7% 2000 = 5% Majority of people are on the right fork, AFAICT. I think deployment has gone very well, as in if I was the dev I would be happy. There is some discussion whether the MNs are being paid properly and something to do with the voting system per block. I can't see any major issues. People just need to update their wallets to 9.4.8 and 10.8.8 respectively (without darksend and with darksend). I don't know status of mac wallet. Suggest, people get their MNs up before price skyrockets further.

Yeah that's unexpected, maybe it's misreporting votes then. 74850 has 6. block 1 ---> vote got 6 with address a/pubkey x block 2 block 3 block 4 block 5 block 6 block 7 ---> paid with address a/pubkey x, block 1 votes are removed. So you can find vote result by current paid block. check previous block. https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin/commit/3022c77309e8b87f28af07981ac94db57bf3e1a4Ban bad entry/not updated --> fork issue --> wont ban. I bought in a 125K sats because the coin supply was so low, and was going to stay low. DRK is one of the only coins with a reasonable, non-hyperinflation coin supply. I never thought of 1000DRK as that many until the price went up, which incentiveizes more people to build MN, which dramatically reduces a very limited supply. Genius. Most alts before PoS have absurdly rapid issuance. For example, DOGE people dont realize the primary cause of DOGE's fall: Supply is WAY outstripping demand. The market cap has been stable in the 30-35M range, however the supply has gown 20-40 in just months%.

If the MN shows with 1 next to it everywhere (darkcoin.io, drk.poolhash.org, darcoind masternode list in MN and masternode list in any local wallet) you should be ok. You can also check in .darcoin/debug.log and see if it is engaging with the network (I don't understand everything in there, but if you read a bit you should see it checking in the network and being part of transactions if you search by IP).

I was reffering to this: What needs to happen to get 6 votes in every block? I think I speak for a lot of people when I say there was a lot of disappointment with maternode payments today. We expected 10% of the block rewards, not 10% of the block reward on 10% of the blocks.This needs to be fixed or a lot of people will cash out on their masternodes. Your post sounds to me as if he is wrong.

Ok, if the maths is right then, ANNUAL return per MN based on number of MNs:
371 = 28.3% 500 = 21% 750 = 14% 1000 = 10.5% 1500 = 7% 2000 = 5%
Your 'Math' is correct... but your 'Finance' can be improved... :-) Slight adjustment needed here as follows: Annual return != 12 x monthly return... => Annual Return = (1 + monthly return in %) ^ 12 - 1 The reason for that is that new coins are also put into 'work' and so they too generate a return (assuming they are invested in new masternodes). If you want to do it really accurate, then it is- Annual return = (1 + daily return in %) ^ 365 - 1
