Darkcoin is trustless, you don't rely on an external wallet for anonymity, as it's Built in.

0. just a reminder: backup your wallet.dat (regularly do this)
1. make sure that your DarkCoin.app resides in your Applications folder and is closed
2. delete peers.dat and remove all addnode= entries from your darkcoin.conf (if you have one)
3. fire up Terminal.app and paste this to reindex the Blockchain:

Does this same proof apply to XC as well?  The short answer: No, this does not apply to XC because XC uses a unique multi-path solution and NOT coinjoin.
