just test it, removed the old drivers with DDU uninstaller in safe mode, it seems that the statements are true, the speeds are increased!
got to test it in older cards like 69xx 79xx, and also check the hashrate at the pools.
Excellent! What card you got? How are temps? Got a Kill-a-watt meter? Please do report back (better on the miner original thread though) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=658975.new#newi do not have a watt meter, on my 6950,7950,7970 it gave me 1mh/s more in total, same temps like before. edit:pool reports correct hash rates. Excellent jobthis is my setup: 6970,2x7970,2x7950,280x toxic, 7970 club 3d 24.5mh/s in total. it was 19 mh/s before. can you pls post the exact before/after numbers for 6950/7950/7970? thanks mate

Anybody worried that MN will make this coin extremely scarse? I know that scarcity doesn't matter with cryptocurrencies, since we have many decimals. My only worry is that due to the scarcity, every time 1 master node holder decides to sell his coins (or someone decides to purchase a new masternode), the price will change dramatically. This could possibly result in a very unstable price. Thoughts?
No. Didn't the developer say that the max number of MN is 2000 or something? So that would be only 2M coins. If every DRK in existence right now was tied up in a masternode, there would be 4399 masternodes. At lowest reward (safe to assume) currently that would be ~0.131 DRK/MN/day ~ 48 DRK/year At 2000 MNs (a bit more realistic) it's 0.288 DRK/MN/day ~ 105 DRK/year At 1000 MNs it's 0.576 DRK/MN/day ~ 210 DRK/year At 500 MNs its 1.152 DRK/MN/day ~ 420 DRK/year Going with 1000 MNs as what IMO will be a good rough guess, each of my MNs will bring me in about £1500/year at current prices of 0.02DRK/BTC(@£350) 1000DRK currently costs ~£7000 so that's a 21% return per year. *At current prices, which are unlikely to remain this low if all goes well!* Plus with so many DRK/fiat exchanges popping up, the price of BTC will become increasingly less relevant to DRK holders. DRK is not an alt, it's a financial apex predator... That was approx. my evaluation as well

will drk go to the $100?i want to buy some now Update your client, HARD FORK! Friday, June 20th we will begin paying MasterNodes!Latest Client Stable: 9.10.1 and RC3 with Darksend is 10.10.1 - See downloads!Release date: 11PM EST, 18th January 2014 / No premine Specifications- Super secure hashing algorithm: 11 rounds of scientific hashing functions (blake, bmw, groestl, jh, keccak, skein, luffa, cubehash, shavite, simd, echo)
- Block reward is controlled by: 2222222/(((Difficulty+2600)/9)^2)
- CPU/GPU mining
- Block generation: 2.5 minutes
- Difficulty Retargets using Dark Gravity Wave
- 7% decrease in the number of coins generated per year
- Est. ~22M Max Coins
- Decentralized MasterNode Network
- Superior Transaction Anonymity using DarkSend: Release Candidate 1 on MainNet
Coin InformationDarkcoin is the first privacy-centric cryptographic currency with anonymous block transactions powered by DarkSend. We currently have a fully functional public Release Candidate for DarkSend, see Downloads below. Darkcoin now has a new kind of hybrid reward system similar to POW with POS. Those who run masternodes being rewarded via 10% of the mining rewards. Masternodes must put up collateral to run, and yet are paid for the work they perform. Darkcoin uses a new chained hashing algorithm approach, with many new scientific hashing algorithms for the proof-of-work. This is so that the processing distribution is fair and coins will be distributed in much the same way Bitcoins were originally. ASICs will be much more difficult to make for these algorithms and should take years. Darkcoin is the coin that introduced Dark Gravity Wave (DGW) to adjust the difficulty and protect the network from large fluctuations in the difficulty. With chained hashing, high end CPUs give an average return similar to that of GPUs. Another side effect of the algorithm is GPUs run at about 30% less wattage than scrypt and 30-50% cooler.Whitepaperhttp://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkcoinWhitepaper.pdfZerocoin vs DarkcoinWhat is the difference? Darkcoin Masternode Consulting services now OPEN!
(Disclaimer, I am user "yidakee" over at Darkcointalk.org/IRC)
I've done it before 100% success, surely can do it again.
I've set-up at least 1 Masternode from start to finish over IRC. Getting flooded in IRC with help requests, troubleshooting etc - I've done it for free up to now, but unfortunately cannot spend that much time anymore with so many people.
Minimal tech requisites necessary, just the willingness to actually do it. Darkcoin-back if you're not happy with my services.
Soon I'll add a reputation thread link
PM me with any doubts, or find me (yidakee) on IRC #Darkcoin
Price is 2 DRK/24h ... be it 1 hour be it 8 hours be it 16h - 1 day is more than enough unless something is terribly wrong your end, but happy to break 24h across multiple days.

I don't think there will ever be 1000 MN ... A good portion of the coins are fragmented investments <1k or people that don't want the hassle of managing something as "complex" + all the necessary liquid part used by exchanges and people actually buying stuff with a crypto currency - yes they must exist My wild guess is between 500 and 800 MN will exist at apex this year. I know there are 800 wallets with at least 1k DRK - even if I do understand there could be tens/hundreds of thousands of DRK inside the richest ones, I expect 800 to be the upper bound for total MN count nevertheless.

lol yidakee ... Hit donho up. I set him up start to finish over IRC. He posted on this very thread when I offered the service for free. I am NOT a linux guru though. That's where you come in Scriptiee Cheap service for cheap solutions. Setting up a Masternode is NOT rocket science. But can be quite confusing at first. That is my thing here. Pro prices for real Pro's. This is intended for the general user that is confident with a keyboard, but is overwhelmed with concept / time constraints etc. Think of this like a 24H Masternode Helpdesk!

Just for anyone wondering, Yidakee has been super active on the forums for a long time regarding masternodes. It would have taken me a lot longer to set up my masternode if I didn't have his posts/questions to reference.

The idea here is to be a Helpdesk sort of thing. Yeah, better change the name to "helpdesk" in my sig. Since I dont come from a linux background, I myself found it offensively intimidating. Now its peanuts. This is for people following the tutorials! Heck, just today someone on IRC could not get past the SSH keypair generation on Amazon. I would not touch anything, just be there on the sidelines helping out, 100% of the time - just like I've been doing for the past 2 months. I may not be a linux guru, but I can explain every single step of the way, its importance and meaning. Is 2 DRK too much for having someone on the sidelines paving your way through your 1000 DRK investment ? Same percentual price as any given tx fee.

I don't believe you will see much movement leading up to the fork, at least not on heavy volume. Those who can really move DRK aren't going to be the kind to buy it up just prior to a hard fork that has been known about for awhile. They are the kind who are going to have adjusted their positions days or weeks prior based upon their risk-analysis.
Get your popcorn ready for after the fork as that is when the fun will really begin. Until then, give your eyes a rest.
*facepalm*
