Maybe DRK should abandon masternodes entirely? Masternodes have ruined the price.

Yeah it only went up from 0.0012 to 0.02 since their introduction...

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Maybe DRK should abandon masternodes entirely? Masternodes have ruined the price.

If you want to just daytrade this around major events, you should just go. If you think a business should be driven primarily by the day-to-day price of it's "stock" then you end up with a really shitty company being reactive and accomplishing nothing.

This is a "product" still in BETA, it's never claimed to be anything since. The long-term trend is still up, with a lot more room to grow.

I've said it before here and i'll say it again. As BTC gets more and more mainstream, there will be a void/niche to be filled for the people who don't want whatever transaction is scrutinized. Right now, I think DRK is still the frontrunner, it's my opinion. Based on Evan's actions, the media attention and just general perception outside of this stupid forum.

How many shitcoins (hell i've mined them) have had "developers" abandon them at the first sign of an issue. How many shitcoins have actual development? There are some, but not many. If you want to go to something else, go ahead. I don't know, maybe XC will be "the one". My personal opinion is that POS coins (with no long-term mining available) will not be the answer.

In b4 Evan makes epic RC4 details announcement post and price goes to 0.1. I have the feeling he has a special surprise for us up his sleeve.

I suspect he's been hammer'n on his keyboard, probably almost finished with RC4, LOL.  Seriously, though, I know he's a workaholic with this so I'm hoping we'll begin testing really soon again ;P  Not that I want to push him!  Just having fun watching the process.

What are you doing here?! Aren't you supposed to be feeding chicken of something ? Cheesy

Ugh, gosh I just got back.  Was gone all day!  So, um, what happened?

a litecoin is worth more than a darkcoin atm Huh

Litecoin is dying a very very slow death. As soon as DRK gets consistantly above .017/btc, LTC will die faster.

The only problem I hate to say, is the name. Darkcoin sounds mischievous to outsiders.

CryptCoin is going on BTCe, could be a big deal.
Hmm. The only news is that the coin dev said that the rumours that it may be being added to BTC-E soon are true. Grin i.e. yes, it may be added, because they have applied to btc-e, and gives a suggestively worded description of the application process. That's it. And all the usual fontas-esqe shills, pumpers and con artists are tweeting it like crazy as if it's being added for sure while everyone sells into their inflated walls.

[Edit: and if CryptCoin pumpers come here again tonight, I'm posting the above into their thread  Tongue]
lol told ya! CryptCoin pump already over, back from .0021 high down to .0016 again in 20 minutes. The con artists have made their money, onto the next pump-and-dump crapscam. I hope none of you sold DRK for that shillfest.

What happens to BTC when all the coins are mined? Does it not have to switch to POS? Thats what I heard, but what do I know.

Ugh, gosh I just got back.  Was gone all day!  So, um, what happened?

The hard fork update went in today and ran into a hickup.  They had to put in a quick update and disable masternode payments again.  The DRK prices that were rising over the last 24 hours or so dropped.  You should update your wallet to version x.2.  Notes here: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/reverting-rc3-masternode-payments-fork.1458/

Seriously disappointed in yet another failed fork. But even more disappointed no one was selling on Bter because China is goddamn sleeping (for real) during the folk (lowest it ever got was 0.016). I don't want to go on mintpal because I will only buy dark with fiat and would never hold any BTC.

DarkCoin masternodes fail again, price crashes - http://www.usacryptocoins.com/thecryptocurrencytimes/uncategorized/darkcoin-masternodes-fail-again-price-crashes/

About a month ago DarkCoin attempted to implement masternodes. Masternodes are used to ‘mix’ DarkCoins, making transactions anonymous. If you own a masternode you get paid a portion of the block reward every time your masternode is selected, which would be quite lucrative over time. This generated a lot of interest from the community, and DarkCoin’s price soared to 0.028 BTC/DarkCoin. Unfortunately, the implementation of the masternodes failed and resulted in many forks, destabilizing the entire DarkCoin system. DarkCoin was briefly delisted from exchanges and its price crashed below 0.01 BTC/DarkCoin http://www.usacryptocoins.com/thecryptocurrencytimes/uncategorized/darkcoin-blockchain-forks-resulting-in-price-crash-and-temporary-delisting-from-exchanges/

The DarkCoin development team had been working on a fix for the masternodes, and tried launching masternodes again today. Speculation drove prices up to 0.021 BTC/DarkCoin before the masternode launch. The masternode launch was a failure once again. Forks developed in the DarkCoin blockchain, making it dangerous to send and receive DarkCoin. The developers of DarkCoin were forced to halt masternodes and go back to the original DarkCoin code. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/reverting-rc3-masternode-payments-fork.1458/

The price of DarkCoin crashed 30% after today’s failed masternode launch, ending up around 0.015 BTC/DarkCoin. I expect price to continue declining in the short term, since masternodes were the main reason DarkCoin’s price was rising. It is hard to tell where the bottom will be, and investing in DarkCoin now is a risky decision. DarkCoin is still near the top of a price bubble, and bad news like this may be enough to finally pop the bubble.

Very sensible advice and on the mark.
I feel sorry for those that paid $16 each for them at their all time high!

Anyway, its very risky, and if Evan ever gets it to work, well, the competition will have already caught up...
In fact, i could say that it already has, at least a couple of competitors have a solution that is already working...

Yes, totally different solutions...that don't do anonymity, just do something that sounds like it.
I've reviewed them all, and so have most of us.

All of the others are actually significantly behind.

Kinda annoying that that article above acts like masternodes don't work...since they have for a long while. Just the payments don't work yet....it's not even close to the same thing.

But keep spreading FUD and nonsense. It's what you'll do.

Thank you, I'm working on updating.  Still wondered what happened though (rhetorical question, obviously nobody knows.)  I understand it forked and the fork did not get rejected by the other nodes?  I find it so hard to believe, I really thought we tested everything we could think of!  Amazing, but there is one thing, Evan won't give up so easily!  We'll figure this one out as well, and it'll work by god!  LOL.

Sorry for anyone losing money with this though Sad  If you can hold, this will work eventually.  You won't lose then, however some people would rather move on to other possible coin makers, so I understand.

Any update on when the quote " easy fix " might hit?

About the amount of time it takes it to bottom and those in the know to load back up?

Wonder how many times the same thing can happen and expect to keep  the communities trust?  Already almost every conversation is how this was the last straw for many.  moving on to the competition.

Not me, I am sticking around... but curious how things work out.  Would have been very profitable if you were almost guaranteed a little quick fixable hiccup was going to happen.

Looking forward to a fix.

P.S. When I argue a quick fix is coming and to have confidence people already saying they will never return.

Good luck to us.. Think we need it till things get a little more professional.
