If people sell once the price rises after rc4, they'll only be selling to smart people who know the actual price rise is at rc5, coins change hands thats all.
Its always smart people though who are buying and idiots who are selling though isn't it  Just like those idiots who sold at 0.025 and the smart people who bought them off them. I like that we have decided on the next narrative to get people to hold, rc4 was nothing anyways, rc5 is where its at. No smart would be offload XMR, which you are bag holding, to buy DRK ;-) |

after being told that rc4 will bump the price back to where they bought it
What I think will "bump the price up" is the code being open sourced, which enables privacy appreciative merchants to accept it as a form of payment. When that happens, Darkcoin will be the first and only privacy coin that allows full adoption. Other coins still have a lot of work to do to reach that point. Darkcoin has the tech, easy usage, easy adoptability for merchants, and, a big and trusted USD exchange for merchants to convert to fiat, and buyers to buy with fiat - Bitfinex. Darkcoin is just so much ahead of the competition that it might very well just scoop up the whole market. As I said, we are soon moving from the the speculation phase to the adoption phase. |

At some point we need to start educating people on the importance of running their masternodes on somewhere else than Amazon. Perhaps a compiled list of independent operators you can rent a server from could be added to the OP. http://drk.poolhash.org/darksend.htmlA lot of people already know and use amazon ec2. Expect people to keep shouting about the idiots selling them all their drk, and so cheap! Funny a month or so ago it was the same narrative at 0.018, 0.016, 0.014 etc etc. They look like some expensive coins now! Attention spans are short in crypto and a bleeding market for two months mean a lot of people have moved on, marketing and hype only last so long. I remember people here eating orders at .02 , posting screenshots and shouting 'om nom nom cheap drk'. Now all they got is butt hurt. But that's how the market works, in order for the whales to make money some need to become bagholders for life or believe in miracles  |

You wish, check my postings I was mining XMR from the beggining and buying in otc for 0.0003 Its not about XMR anyway, as said I hold DRK as a hedge, I'll be very happy myself if/when it goes up again.

1) really have to know what's coming, or
2) have to know what the slightly dumber than you "investors" think are coming, or what they think that the even more dumber investors think are coming, which will affect their decisions.
1) will lead to smart people holding and accumulating DRK, and
2) will lead to the brainless race after future promises because even if you don't believe in them, you will believe that someone dumber than you will.

I appreciate your unbridled optimism! As much as I would like to think we hit .05 soon I kind of doubt it but surely drk will be much higher than it is now. Seems like market sentiment is skewed against a successful RC4, given the hiccups with two previous releases. If Evan and team can deliver successfully this time, and all the auto-denom feature is working flawlessly and 10DRK limit lifted, I think we will experience a sustained rally from these levels. Transaction volumes on the darkcoin network and exchange volume in DRK/BTC pairing may increase dramatically and rapidly if we get lots of bitcoiners exchanging in and out of dark to clean up their dirty bitcoin (please, let us not judge how darkcoin is used but appreciate its utility). This is very price supportive. Add to that the speculators who will jump back in as prices rise and here we have a very nice path higher. For the time being, there is still some uncertainty about current progress and timing of RC4 release that probably does not help improve sentiment atm. Hopfully eltito can manage expectations properly and give us some kind of update soon. |
