Yea I think the article by Fernando is a great barebones introduction to Darkcoin. It would be good to link anyone who's curious about DRK to it because it explains in simple terms how things work. Then if they want to know more, especially how it works on a technical level they could come here.

Tante's brief is pretty in depth, actually might be a good expansion on what Fernando was talking about. Very detailed and well fleshed-out, full of juicy nuggets.

These two articles together are a good introduction for newbies on where DRK is and where it wants to go.

x11 Mining Discussion

I'm sure I'm not the only one here mining x11.  Thought I'd share something and hopefully compare notes.

After discovering x11 I returned all my GPU's to factory bios, undervolting was fairly important with Scrypt, not so much with x11 as the power saving was so good.  So I chose farm stability which did wonders for my general sanity levels.

However I'm finding now, with new miners such as "sgminer_x11x13mod_01_07_2014" combined with ATI Catalyst 14.6 Beta, x11 speeds are increasing and with that, power consumption.

My 6 x 270x rigs are pushing 750 watts these days, which is starting to climb back up to Scrypt levels, suddenly undervolting is back on the table again.

I noticed something really interesting last night.

After undervolting my cards and taking the rig power draw down to 615 watts, speeds increased!

I immediately face palmed and wondered why I didn't do this sooner, has anyone else experienced this?  My test rig went from 16.5 Mh/s to 17.1 Mh/s after taking the power from 750 watts down to 615 watts!

That's weird... I've been running 1 card mining DRK for about a month and will give this a try... How much DRK are you pulling in with that setup, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm currently running some tests between P2Pool vs WafflePool vs Single Pool DRK mining.

Ballpark for all 3, depending on difficulty of course, has fluctuated between 10-20 DRK per day.

At the moment, WafflePool then buying DRK is just edging out P2Pool which is just edging out Direct Pool mining DRK.

The additional DRK I'm accumulating from going down the WafflePool approach is not sufficient for me to ignore that P2Pool would be the better long term solution for the network, so unless something amazing happens on WafflePool over the next few days, (I'm giving each one 1 week), I will be settling on P2Pool.

Yep that's how I've been mining. Figured what little hash I'm throwing at it might as well help promote a healthy network. Mining p2p is mining in the true spirit of crypto.

Yes, agreed. I thanked you Fernando in a previous post but will say it again here. Have tweeted your article out as it's very good.

And Tante congratulations on yours too. It's also excellent and (as someone that's had a fair bit to do with seeing benefits of the support for diversity within work environments) I'm particularly pleased to see a female in here with such a great level of knowledge, capability and engagement. Thanks and great work!

Yeah you're right... After I've finished undervolting the farm I'm gonna switch back to P2Pool regardless of what multi-pool mining gives me...

If they start putting up an excessive number of posts, report them as spam. Eventually, they'll just get themselves banned if they can't behave.
I'll be the first to say I've fed a few trolls here today. BUT, we can keep putting these persistent trollers on ignore, no problem.
I just ask the DRK community not to troll the other threads.  The merits of this coin and community stand on their own. Stay classy, Darkcoiners.

I agree whole heartedly.  I have never stooped to such low levels...and we as a community don't need to as well.   You'll never read a posting of mine elsewhere in any other crypto trashing their coin.  I respect the peoples choice to invest it what they wish, right or wrong...

To sum up my findings on Cloacacoin, I'm not putting serious money on anything that bleeds for 7 days and doesn't die. You just can't hand out the whole coin distribution to the miners in 7 days and call it 'fair distribution'. It's a 7 day total instamine.  For people who like this model, I recommend they look at NXT. NXT already has full coin distribution without the inflation problem. They may not have a serious anon road map yet, but they'll get something cooked up before long.
Carry on, fellow Darkcoiners.

So basically what he's saying is: "I am in fact so materialistic, selfish, and insecure that I must list all my possessions to bolster my vain ego."

Nice. What a classy guy.

It gets better, not only is bob a troll who pumps whatever is new, but is most likely a con artist and criminal. I think we should remind him of this.

You dont get it. I sat down with the RCMP before opening this company as I needed to know how to funnel the complaints properly. I can tell you I live in the scam telemarketing capitol of the world so when I opened a company to help the victims of B2B scams it was a sure thing that the owners and employees would have an issue with that, and try to discredit me as soon as possible.

in other words, you dont think people are competent enough to choose what they want to choose,
How many people sodl their DRKs when they should have hodl?

How many people leave their money in a bank because they know they can't even trust themselves to handle their own money?

He's actually got a point, he's just pointing it the wrong direction....
