No seriously, why would anyone need to hide their IP address from their financial transactions?
Because we want to be... anonymous.
Total annonimity.
But if it's so important, why doesn't Litecoin hide IP addresses of people that use Litecoin?
I see what you're doing there...

it would take someone on the network logging this information to get it while it's happening
I'm actively monitored and all packets logged. I've even been actively re-routed through a lousy system in VA. They didn't even make a VPN of it... traceroute exposed it. Not to mention the horrible slow and latency...

It's cute. They think they're going to "someday" break TOR and figure out what I'm doing. And even if.when they do, there is nothing to find out. I use TOR for my myriad of crypto currency clients and all they're going to find is a buttload of blockchains for a half dozen coins I don't even use...

This is how you monkey-wrench the dataminers.

So hiding your IP address is a good idea, when you're sending money around the inter web?
Call it "inter web" again and I'll track you down and punch you in the face!  Angry seriously! It is called the internet

But it seems you have a trolly day anyway.
He's playing Devil's advocate. Calm yourself.

And it is "Internet." Capitalized. If you're going to correct someone and troll on an obvious spoof, at least get it correct...

I have a feeling we won't be seeing .009 for a while after today. Get em cheap while you can.
Well, we passed that already. I mean it doesn't take too much money to move it even to further now, 0.01 maybe.

not very smart people thought they would be smart by leaving Darkcoin and buying in on a rather hyped up coin (the coin that shall not be named here).
Unfortunetely for them they are getting kinda raped right now due to massive dumping.

you can follow it here : https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mintpal/cloakbtc

Thanks to you & sleepyx for that information! My guess is that at the of the summer the price will be there again where it belongs.

There are apparently some timing analysis attack vectors that I2P and Tor are vulnerable to, and because they are used for browsing the web and similar interactive activities, it's not really practical to add any delays for them. But would adding some random delay in every masternode before it passes the message forward make the timing analysis harder? Or would the delay make the operations take too long? Maybe it could be optional, and the option flag encrypted in together in the message layers.
The masternodes' intercommunications are the noise that TOR/I2P lack. In fact, it's overwhelming noise. It's a Signal to Noise ratio of 100:1 at least... Whereas TOR and I2P have none because their non-incentivised volunteer network would collapse (which already barely works) if they added even a tiny amount of noise.

This gives DRK it's own network of essentially identical function which Evan can tinker with and fix/alter at will, instead of relying on some other project to do it. Both of which have no done it...

Manly. It will be a ton more work to replicate that which is already out there, but Evan needs to take these matters into his own hands sine EFF and the I2P people can't seem to make any progress on their flaws.

It's just a bonus that there will be tons of traffic between the masternodes already, thus, creating the delays/noise/obfuscation. In fact. so much noise/obfuscation that delays will be unneeded. There will be no way to know if the message was from masternode to masternode for normal mixing and simply comms between masternodes, or if it was a send, or anything else a masternode might do in the future. Oh, and it's incentivized... People have an actual reason to do it and get paid to make sure it doesn't suck, ahem, TOR...

And now you are starting to figure out the masterplan and why it's called darkcoin...

Jeez... I knew this 4 months ago... How can people be so slow?

all right but there must be some ground to this posa from cloak. If is was something useless it would not create a buzz like this I think, also there was a article on cryptocoinsnews although the writer was paid in cloak.. and there a lot of articles on that cryptonews site, but still I dont find anything that proves it don't work and the dev of cloak seems legit.

So why is darsend+ a better solution than posa that apparently was tested positive in the beta testing already? They say that you don't need mn for anonymity..?
If you say 'gullible' really slowly it sounds exactly like 'oranges.'
So much facepalm leading up to lols.

My prediction is a lot of folk here are getting their salaries processed as we type, and will rush to take advantage of this price to stock up. Price right now is clear reflexion of inter-coin "arbitrage". Early next week, engines will be seriously on.

Seriously, trolls just hurt every coin out there. Scams, yes we need to point them out. Trolling just undermines potentially good projects, especially anon projects and the more of the them with quality devs the better as far as I'm concerned.

I have to wait about 8 hours for bitcoin to come through here in Australia. RC4 coming early August and its August here today, no time to waste.
Think I'll sell my 10,000 viacoin and maybe my 2 cloaks.

Masternode status is broadcasted to peer.
It's like a transaction msg but has a different identifier.

Is it prevented somehow that the attacker can't fake the status message after successfully ddos'ing the node down?

masternodeprivkey is the one.

Code:
Masternodes now sign their 1000DRK vin for the first message to the network, then they specific a second pubkey
that they will sign all further messages with. This second signing key must be specified for
all masternodes in the configuration with the option "masternodeprivkey"

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/new-version-9-4-0-and-10-8-0.690/

I think the attacker can't fake, but can duplicate previous msg, and eventually get banned.

As soon as the dude who bought 60+BTC realizes that this is not cloak, we'll be back at the 800-850k sat range.

That dude or group firstly dumped DRK, then pumped n dumped CLK and back to DRK with increased holdings.
I also did this. CLK is really well orchestrated hype, nothing more.
