What problems, really? From all that I have seen most of the problems were caused by (inexperienced ?) users, like not mastering basic wallet.dat/private keys knowledge, or even by previously existing computer failures, and were solved by simply re-downloading blockchain for example. Such problems happed daily in each and every other cryptocoin, BTC included. Have I missed something? Congratulations to the community for the support given to the less experienced users, and to the Dev team for such hard work. It's a work being done live and we are all participating, it requires hard work and the results will not simply rain down for us.

No, this is only for DS+ users.

****** PLEASE UPDATE TO v9.12.28 (Stable) OR 10.12.28 (RC) *******
The unconfirming issue was caused by DS going too fast once and awhile and the view not being able to keep up with what inputs were spent. This caused double spends in about 2% of cases. To fix this I've introduced a limit where darksend will only denominate once a block.
If you have a long standing unconfirmed transaction, simply right click the transaction, copy the txid. Then execute the command "erasetransaction txid" in the console. After that reopen the client with the command -salvagewallet, and the money should be back.
It will still be possible to mix with clients that haven't updated, so avoid activating darksend for a day or so while the network updates. This update is backwards compatible, so masternodes need not update.
...
****** PLEASE UPDATE TO v9.12.29 (Stable) OR 10.12.29 (RC) *******
Fixed the reading/writing of the DisableDarksend option in the config and disabled darksend by default. If users want to enable it they can go into the configuration to turn it on.

Is it mandatory for MN owners to update? Don't think so, sounds like just some client fixes.

There have been small problems (see here), but the core tech is solid and exciting. Anyone calling it a failure is just trolling to cause dumping into their bids.

Consider innmlist is not a 100% sign of RC4. If a pool has several stratum pools(mixed RC3 and RC4), status can be changed. So check using http://drk.poolhash.org/masternode.html?srch&nmstr=poolnametocheck(change poolnametocheck to poolname) http://drk.poolhash.org/mnode.html(has link to http://drk.poolhash.org/masternode.html?srch&nmstr=poolname)
