Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Please read the release notes. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/rc4-launch.2033/

It is a transaction fee paid to the miners to process Darksend transactions(denomination). No different than transaction fees in bitcoin.

That's just a fee for denomination, if that's what you did.
Relax, do some research first.

camosoul for the love of dog run a dumprivkey on whatever you have left...

I believe he got everything back
back-up you

I hope so, all the more reason to backup now to paper, and so should everyone else.

Plus, as we've seen it isn't enough to have backups, you need to verify them each time too if possible - I know it's a pain in the arse but it saves grief down the road.

Nobody takes backups seriously until it's too late and they're screwed.

Camo got his 3.5kDRK back thanks to Prop

BUT he sent out 7+k to MP and it hung
(did that get resolved?)

Back-ups saved my wallet this past eve

back-up your w*.dat's before you ever update folks

Why would a large holder that is in DRK for the long haul be sending 7+k of DRK to an exchange in the first place?  Why are they selling that many DRK? RC4 was just released.  I thought this was what people were waiting for.  Seems rather odd.

He was having serious problems with his system and backups. He was sending them to Mintpal as a temp solution because he was not sure what was happening with the wallets in his computers. He has now recovered everything. It seems he had some corrupt files in his system since long ago and his backups were not good, probably because of some kind of memory failure.

Just looked @ calendar and I`m surprised HOW MANY SHITCOINS are born every single day.

The market is cleaning up and consolidating. I don't say there won't be more launchs, but I think they will be less frequent because people won't participate and the incentives will be lower to create a new coin.
Indeed I was thinking that this is the way it go... time will judge it Smiley

It's some what difficult.

http://drk.poolhash.org/mnode.html has 'no of payment to RC3'(not_detected).
block : [current block height - 582] ~ [current block height - 6]

MN timeout is 30 min as far as i Know.

If a MN is updated and the MN is paid by RC3 pool, MN has innmlist of RC4.

I will think more.

I say give it some time and don't panic.  Only about half of the masternodes have upgraded to RC4 so maybe that is causing some delays.

I'd advise anybody with a query or concern about RC4 to ask on Darkcointalk...thats where most of the expertise hangs out.

I see the markets aren't batting an eyelid over RC4.

Since I'm not going to make any gains on my current holdings by the looks of it I've decided to start quietly accumulating enough DRK for a 2nd masternode.

If you see any orders for a 31.41592600 DRK shot on MP - that's me. Please oblige by relieving yourselves of any un-needed DRKs.

A newbie question - how do you back up to paper? Is the private key stored in plain text? Or is there any app to get it out of wallet.dat?
I have a few digital backups but would not mind the paper as well

This is  Backup.
To make it quick and easy, type 'dumpprivkey <public address that is in your wallet>' in the wallets' console, and write down (copy / paste to a text editor, public and the according private key) both.
Then print it out, twice, and store each in a different physical location.

Fresh paper wallet.
The nice way would be to grab the DRK address generator, go offline, open the file in web browser, generate new wallet (with qr code, and nice layout), print that out and distribute the your coins across these 'new and fresh' paper wallets. So the coins are nowhere online, just on the papers' cold storage address.

http://paper.darkcoin.io/
Grab the source from git, and create paper wallets offline.

I have a question about this.
If i understand correctly, after the coins in your wallet have been made anonymous, those coins are placed in lots of 'change' addresses.
Does the resulting private key from the 'dumpprivkey <public address that is in your wallet>' command still contain _ALL_ your coins? (not literally but after importing it again ofcourse)

No, it wont. First, disable darksend and consolidate all your coins into one address by sending your balance to a new address that you have just created in-wallet. Or pick an existing one, doesn't matter really, as long as everything is in that one pubkey. Then go to the console and type:

walletpassphrase 'your-passphrase' 60 - unlocks wallet for 60 seconds
dumpprivkey 'address you just sent your balance to' - without the quotes

Cut and paste the output (the private key) into a text editor or something, put the address in there too, and then print out 15 copies and hide them under the bed of your fiercest granny and other places. Hide/store them securely (lamination is good for waterproofing) because anyone who gets hold of them can steal your coins by doing what you need to do to import them into another wallet, namely:

importprivkey 'the-private-key' 'label(optional)' - without the quotes at the console in a new wallet somewhere else.

HTH.

ahh. so the trick is to sent all your anonymised coins to a newly made address and THEN dump the private key of that address.
thanks.

Anyone for fulfilling the rest of the order ? (Will put another one up once complete as we wouldn't want to be causing to much of a revaluation would we Smiley )

I don't understand the volume stats. The DRK market is dead when your on the exchange - one transaction every 5 or 10 minutes. BitcoinWisdom also indicates almost no volume and yet the stats on the Mintpal front page report a massive 238 BTC 24 hours volume.

Something doesn't square.

I think the DRK devs are releasing RC4 with as little fanfair as possible to give it a chance to settle - upgrades needed on pools, masternodes etc.

Then when it's rock solid it's get promoted.

Good strategy.

switch to 24 hours and add up the volume spikes on the bottom of the graph. Adds up.
