I have a question please:
How long could it take to transfer and confirm for example 1 ETH?
It is not an important thing, the quantity of the eth. For 1 or 1000000 eth takes the same time to transfer. Only thing matter is gas price. If you willing to pay more gas it can go in seconds if you want to pay the lowest gas it goes in hours maybe days. You are totally true but the gas price should hopefully become better with some updates. Right now crypto isn't much better than banking. In terms of price it isn't at all, but in terms of speed it still is. If we can fix the price per transaction issue we will go to the moon. It was perfect just after the last hard fork. I was sending my transactions with 0.5 gwei, not even 1.0. And it was nearly free. And then we met with kitties. Yes but the kitties were just a warning of what we have to expect in the future if Ethereum doesn't successfully scale. It must scale or it will die. I believe it is that simple. It won't die but icos and tokens may go to another platform so the price of the token can suffer. It really needs to scale. Most important thing. I agree with your comment that it won't die. I just said it in the hard version so to say. But only because it doesn't die doesn't mean it will still be worth a lot. It will never die, but as you said, it could lose severe market shares if others offer better scaling solutions. And the race is already on! |

I'm not sure that I understand what you're saying... If you're saying that 32 GAS is too much for transactions, I don't agree. True, it's way more expensive than it used to be when transactions have gone trough for less than 4 gwei, but 32 gwei is around $1 if I calculated correctly and you can't say that it's too expensive to trade. Well it depends, for someone 1$ can be too expensive. I agree that in cryptoworld it is still acceptable, but together with waiting time prolonged it is unpleasant. |

I hope this year Ethereum will grow several times, and maybe catch up with bitcoin. Definitely this is only the beginning.
catch up bitcoin will certainly be difficult. according to all forecasts, it will grow in the short term. but the growth of the ether will be exactly, I think its price by March will be 3k Bitcoin is hard to catch up with, but 3k for Ethereum is also not bad. I hope it will be soon)) |

So true. And ETH is almost $1000. Seems even the XRP team is shocked by how high XRP is going! The war is not yet over. This is going to be an exciting race. I can see more and more developments on these 2 top companies but I won't count out the other solid crypto killers like ADA and Stratis. Hmm, wondering if XRP is experience a pump and dump at the moment. Nothing should be surprising in this wild wild west of cryptos! In my opinion, privacy coins such as DeepOnion are going to be one of the best investments overall. |

Anyone knows what the reason behind the sudden surge of ETH gas price? Don't tell it's those damn kitties again.
I have read somewhere a rumor that ETH PoS service has been uploaded to the Ethereum network. Maybe they are testing it and if it's true it could be the reason for the congestion. I don't think that will congest the network because even if they are testing PoS they must be doing in on test-net network. |

The other day I watched a lot of transactions with Gas Price 2000 Gwei, which have not been confirmed for more than 20 minutes and this is not the limit. This state of affairs makes me sad, the algorithm for processing transactions needs to be radically changed. Can things change with the move to POS?

I think that pending transactions problem must be resolved ASAP! I see that there are currently over 30k pending transactions. It dropped to 15k for an hour or so, but then it climbed again to 30k pending transactions. Big amount of pending transactions is the biggest problem and not the gas price. If every user increases his gas price in order to finish the transfer sooner, then the gas price would climb even more and pending transactions would remain the same so increasing the price of gas isn't solution for this problem. Only the devs can solve the problem of pending transactions and they really need to do it right now! It's crypto were things are moving rapidly and it can't wait few weeks or months.

I used Ethereum before instead of Bitcoin in transferring funds. Unfortunately, I have been avoiding Ethereum lately because of its very big pending transactions. It now takes a long time to transfer funds. I also hope the devs can fix the problem as soon as possible. It seems the problems of Bitcoin has now come to Ethereum. |

This also makes me sad. Last 2 days ethereum is an incredibly slow and become an expensive blockchain. In the case, Transferring ETH and assets has become painfully slow and fees to the moon. This is due to congestion, lets wait become normal. |

BTC transaction is about $50 and ETH transaction is $0.5-$2). Bigger problem is that they take forever to go trough and that's bigger problem than expensive gas. |
