Is 600 kilo hash (750tix2) good enough for the 512 difficulty?
Would it be better if I allocated 800? (2gridseed)
1khs is good enough for 512. Difficulty doesn't matter. PW, you are wrong about that. I know you would say now that all it matters is a statistics and even 1khs gets eventually an accepted share. Yes, statistically speaking it does not matter if diff is 64, 128, 256 or 512. But in real world, a hash machine might get a reset (so it was hashing for about a minute and nothing was accepted from pools side), might get hung or might start hashing at secondary pool. And then all that hash time, when nothing was accepted from pools side - is lost. The best option would be - the machine hashes, the pool accepts - AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. So, diff DOES MATTER IN REALITY. This is not correct. The probability of any given hash meeting the difficulty (accepted) is exactly the same no matter what happened before. There is no "memory" of previous actions. See also "gambler's fallacy".

Getting a new work request (these happen every few seconds on a multipool) doesn't reset anything, your next hash on the new work has the exact same chance of being over X difficulty as the next hash on the old work.

I believe WafflePool's profitability switcher takes into account orphan/reject rate when choosing a coin. As PoolWaffle has previously indicated that if a coin with 10% orphan rate is 15% more profitable then the next option, we mine it.
Periods of high rejects just mean we are currently mining a fast or low-diff coin.

This is correct. Really need to hire phzi (or find a bot?) to just copy/paste what I've previously posted

Or update the first post of the thread and the pool's FAQ page with the info. Heh, that FAQ would end up at least 10 pages long I think.

Really do need to add it there though, maybe I'll go through today and make that a bit longer. I'm sure it helps, but there's about 4-5 emails per day that my entire reply is "Please read the FAQ"

Reminds me of Eligius pool with only address to join. Good job.

I don't seem to ever get a particularly high reject rate with WP overall except for one or two times when there were issues in the past. If you mine on it for several days straight it averages out to low rejects for me.

I just bounced back to another pool because i was getting about 30% stales / rejects on US east, now i'm getting barely any so there's definitely something going on.

What is "going on" is called mining a very low-diff coin. If the reject/stale rate spikes occasionally, but is on average somewhere around 3-5% (average over several days), then everything is working fine.

Reject rate over a short time isn't useful, and overall the pool averages ~3%. Varies a huge amount though, some 1-5min periods are 0%, some are 20%, the difference is, when you're mining a coin at 20% stale rate, we expect a huge profit from those coins (making the 20% worth it). This is expected, and accounted for in the switcher.

Must be on your end, I'm mining on useast (stratum+tcp://useast.wafflepool.com:3333) and uswest (stratum+tcp://uswest.wafflepool.com:3333) servers right now.

I am talking on average over the day in the last 11 hrs 15 mins it's been 3.48 % or or 417 of 11985 which is good compared to the likes of clevermining
