Regarding who knows huntercoin exists, there was a brief surge of heavy media when the coin was first issued, then it dropped back, now it is resurging. Below the 12 month chart from Google trends.
And the resurge (in terms of x times googled per day) was on the day when an almost 100% price spike happened, with 24h volume higher than market cap. Everything would be easier if google trends had predictive power

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Thinking about http://forum.huntercoin.org/index.php/topic,24079.msg30692.html#msg30692... it would mean that gamefund has steady income once again (imo if not at least 2 or 3 coins per block, the proposed rule change would have not much effect) This could be used to make Huntercoin like a DAO (coin holders being the owner) with an universal bounty- and voting system. Easiest to do all in gamestate (but only if spectators can be spawned with arbitrary amount of coins, can live forever but must pay upkeep for spam protection, and get rewarded if they're good citizens and vote) It would require some new Json fields and gamestate variables so that every hunter can propose granting a bounty, and to vote about any one issue (and state the reasons), and offer to pay an amount of HUC as fee (for spam protection). Every e.g. 10000 blocks, the network chooses the proposal with the highest fee, its data is moved from the hunter's playerstate to "global" gamestate (kept there for 10000 more blocks), and the fee is paid (amount transferred from hunter to gamefund) Then the spectators can vote (thats why they need to be spawned with arbitrary amount of coins, these coins == weight of the vote), and after 10000 more blocks result is final and the network would transfer the bounty (if any, amount transferred from gamefund to hunter) This system is very flexible, for example HUC owners could collectively and officially promise to pay coins after something is done, or (if proposals can be canceled only after some time) the pledged amount (i.e. as fee) is basically frozen coins that can be unfrozen through vote by HUC holders, perhaps useful in case a single person is tasked to handle a larger amount on behalf of the holders. It doesn't need an executive branch, just " sharecoin holders" and "workers".

Hey guys, so poloniex finally allowed me to withdraw my coins from my suspended account (state restriction from polo) but there are no there exchanges I can use to trade. There's only one, as far as I know and it has disabled deposits. Anyone know what I can do?

Quick heads up: I just pushed new code to the repository (Huntercoin Core) that includes a recent upstream performance optimisation from Bitcoin. (The UTXO database is keyed on tx output instead of tx hash.)
This will require an update of your UTXO set database when run the first time, but it should be done automatically - for me it took few minutes and seems to have worked fine.
If you encounter any problems, let me know. Doing a -reindex will probably solve them, although I'm aware that this takes a looooong time to complete.

Everything looks good but Cryptobloodbath has hammered all coins, including huc. New website http://huntercoin.org/ is about ~30,000,000 times better than old website. - Here is an idea that has been raised in the past but never followed through on yet. 1) Snailbrain or Wiggi open a bounty specifically for this project, with a huc address that is public, anybody can donate or watch address. 2) Either one of huc devs or another person working for bounty open ad accounts e.g. with Google ads etc. 3) Place cheap per mil ads on various sites, e.g. Earn Money With Altcoins Huntercoin is a blockchain based currency. You can make a small amount of money playing.clickable address e.g. http://huntercoin.org/landingpage1.html4) If the ad account is opened under a corporate name like "Huntercoin Promotion Account" and the metrics of the account are public, it will be possible for people to make suggestions regarding ads. 5) If you post a huc address to start this project I'll donate a small amount to start it. I can also give some advice privately regarding how to make the ads most effective. 6) Once the project is started, you can spend maybe 1/10th of the balance in the account on ads per week. So, for example, if there are 1,000 huc in that account you convert 100 to fiat and deposit it to the Google ad account to run ads until exhausted. The next week likewise 90 huc, or whatever. 7) Care has to be taken to monitor various test landing pages to see which is most effective i.e., which gets the most follow through interest after the initial click. Also very important is that the cost to play for people landing on the ad is zero. Somebody should be able to see the ad, click on it, download the client and play, and be able to make something without having spent any money. Ideas pop up in threads and often are not developed, who knows if anybody will follow through on this idea, but I will try to donate at least a 1,000 huc, probably a little more, if a public person like one of the devs or somebody they trust starts a project wallet for that.

The ads would be cheap but the hunters for zero cost playing expensive. It would be sustainable if coins for free hunters come from the game itself. And/or if there are very few free hunters per day and clicking one of the ads is like a free lottery, not a guaranteed hunter.

That is a brilliant idea. If one tenth or hundredth of the mining reward went to letting a brand new person play for free, and if there were a way to make sure no robots etc took those coins, it would be a massive draw.

The "alternative gameplay" from http://forum.huntercoin.org/index.php/topic,24077.0.htmlis now online as a second testnet. It goes into "testnet2" subfolder and thus doesn't step on the toes of mainnet or official testnet. The "make Huntercoin like a DAO" idea https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=435170.msg19602642#msg19602642is also included. everything that is not like in old-school Huntercoin is decribed in github.com/wiggi/huntercoin-testnet2/blob/master/Gamerules_testnet2.txt Source: https://github.com/wiggi/huntercoin-testnet2unlike official testnet, it uses port 18396 and the daemon must be started with ./huntercoind -daemon -server -port=18396 Windows build: https://mega.nz/#!bV0yQZiI!Jc4AY-v4RpkkrdBXREwbpfvGsJlGRz5LD_DFHEHlLfE (this is only for testnet2, don't overwrite other executables with it) in huntercoin.conf (ok when it's just in testnet2\huntercoin.conf) Btw, even with this player friendly system people won't play every day with their immortal hunters, so you can park them for free. And because it not only makes casual players and pro farmers equal but also stops tx spam, it would scale very well, imo about 200k active players plus much more "parked" characters that wait for their players to return and play again is possible using only low-tech. Mostly needs regular checkpoints for the gamestate, at which gamestate data can be fetched from peers or loaded from file. And a larger map plus a better map viewer. Then to play would cost only a coin or so.

The idea of attracting more developers is important. Huntercoin was the first game coin and is still the leader in a field that will grow vastly, using human input for mining. Boggles the mind that coins that have nothing but financial investors have lots of people working on them, but this real innovation in crypto keeps chugging along with only a few people developing. Sorry to say, much as I hate marketing, it might be a good idea to have a new person dedicated only to social stuff like twitter, reddit etc. Very important to avoid the pumpiness most coins have but at least have a person keeping social media links up. When bitcoin coop was sort of trying to promote interest he was also focused on a lot of other projects but still managed to get some diverse people interested long term. Wiggi, if you want to make a donation address to 'tip' social media I'll donate at least a thousand huc probably. Other bigger players might donate too. You could pay 10% of whatever is in the fund each week toward tipping people, subsidizing new players, etc. Previously donation funds have not really done much visibly. This would be an easy way to get more people involved and maybe some feedback on why huc has been so ignored by the masses. To show the abysmal state Huntercoin is at\ here are some links https://twitter.com/huntercoin?lang=enhttps://twitter.com/hucgameshttps://www.reddit.com/r/Huntercoin/

Smart idea to reduce spam on the Huntercoin forum by preventing all new registrations, but doesn't that also prevent non spam?

next couple of days there will be an udpdate. Smart idea to reduce spam on the Huntercoin forum by preventing all new registrations, but doesn't that also prevent non spam?
there was some major spamming of the forum so i made one of the questions impossible to answer - almost. what was the question? I will change it later. Yes, i'm not sure who owns them - they were created around release when there were much more players. This is the official Huntercoin twitter https://twitter.com/chimaera_tech which used to be @chronokings (has never been called Huntercoin) - We need to continue to improve huntercoin gameplay - any suggestions for the next hard fork will be considered if not too complex.

The state of Huc is like a chicken and egg problem. Single new players coming in and play, or trying to, wouldn't help at the moment. Perhaps organizing an event with some (>5, and can't be mostly noobs) people play together and take the map by surprise. The fancy after action report would be good PR for Huc.

If you managed to dominate the map like a couple of people are around $1000 USD a day although huc has lost a lot of value recently (as with other cryptos) - it's been a lot higher
