Attacked are back... But now blocking IP dosen't help. I was redirected from Eligius, then from BTCguild and then from GHesh(oder might be different for different locations) and end up idling on all but 2 miners that have Bitparking still in... But I didn't mine for the priate
CK has updated cgminer to fix the redirect issue and Kano has release a patch for the S1... that might at least help prevent your antminers from redirecting.

I seem to have an invalid payment, can be viewed on blockchain.info but viewing it on blockexplorer.com gives an error
this is where the invalid payment shows up on blockchain.info: https://blockchain.info/tx/09de770e06f38ea035ab497450d9ab726ac7c16cf2725a83969c13601da13931
this is the block: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/blockinfo.php/00000000000000001f620c64e6c9a56bcbac52bcca074a9d8b291028ee4f0c03, notice there's no payouts?

BTW didn't show up in my wallet but payment after did.

Can someone explain to me how the number of blocks my payout is delayed is INCREASING, instead of DECREASING??

I started out with a payout on a ~360GH/s address yesterday that was 16 blocks back... then it was 17... now it's 18...  wtf?

I'm an itty bitty miner. I don't need the Bitcoin. Yet even I'm starting to lose my patience with the (many) issues the pool seems to be dealing with lately.

Just makes me wonder... where is the NMC, anyway?

[ADD] In the meantime, since I entered the queue about 20 hours ago, according to my ability to count, the pool has found 15 blocks... yet I'm now 18 back.

That probably means that several large miners ahead of you in the queue....also waiting for their payout, have mined enough BTC while waiting, and have therefore consumed more blocks, so your block delay has gone up. Three days ago I was at 32 blocks delay, then that went up to 36, now its down to a measly 18 block delay. So could be any time now before I see a payout - probably in 2 days for me.

Expect a delay of between 1 and 7 days with payouts on Eligius.

Example: if you have this chap ahead of you in the queue:
http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/18aBb4GfX3QCN64xaJ3W3EuNzHL92v2UU1
Then its going to be a while before you see any BTC because as you can see they have a 3 day delay in payout, and are pulling 32 BTC a day, so for every day they are in the queue ahead of you, you are gaining a block and a bit.

Eligius has been very transparent about how their system works. If you don't like it (or very likely didn't read about it to fully understand it), go elsewhere and quit bitching on here. Pretty simple.

I've always been paid for my shares, and the 0% pool fee makes up for the delay on NMC in my book (though I'm donating as I value the service Eligius is providing). A little patience has gone a long way. Thanks Wiz & Luke.

Just takes a bit of adjusting to is all, especially if you have come here from another pool. Most other pools payout at least within a 24 hour period, with this pool you pretty much need to plan ahead. I try to work mine so that I have one payout a week, that seems to work fine. So I set the the custom payout to what I will mine in about 2 days, and it sits in the queue for between 1 and 7 days, sometimes shorter sometimes longer. Thats life.

With all due respect, boner, I've been on this pool for longer than you've probably been mining--total--so can your condescending attitude. I've been here since the days when Luke-JR was running it and, if you'd care enough to check my posts on the forum, which you seem to have just joined, you'd see that I am almost always speaking out in favor Eligius, the payout structure, and Wizkid and Luke.  So thanks for your "input"...

That said, I do understand the structure and I'm not happy about it. Am I just bitching? Sure. Is it therapeutic? Yup.

I have the right, as does everyone else that's wondering what's up.

By the way... you donating anything, or just another self-righteous free loader?

[EDITED since I see you said you're donating -- same here -- always have, so lay off. That changes tonight, though... time to go for free, since it doesn't seem to be helping solve any problems.]

NMC, wizkid?  Or can I suggest that you, at the very least, change the header on the page when you get 2 minutes.

My measly five little S1s and I have had the heart to donate 1%, for a looong time -- long before the recent problems. And I'm getting lectured about how the pool works

Other than allowing a custom manual payout function, which I am sure the ol' 560 TH/s Megafarm there would find very handy, there isn't really another way around this that I can see without starting again on the payment system. We will get paid, any day soon now, could be tomorrow even....

And who do you think has been dealing with all the DDOS attacks? NMC is probably one of the lowest priorities when the stats site keeps getting taken down, etc. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt Wiz has been idle.

Though I do agree it is fair to remove the 105% NMC from the thread - at this point it is just misleading to new people joining.

EDIT: I just read through your comments as you suggested, should have done that sooner - I see you have been advocating for donations regularly. Hope you reconsider your stance to remove your donation - your previous arguments were compelling.  Wink

I didn't change my donations after all... still 1%. I still wish those monsters in the front of the queue would donate, but I'm sure that's hopeless. As compelling as I've tried to be for keeping it on the honor system, those whales are making me seriously want to rethink that. Greed always wins, apparently. I'm sure 1% of their cut might help WK happier to deal with the pool's headaches(?).

This helped me, as I forgot about the the back-and-forth that took place back then. Thanks for bumping it, AbiTxGroup.

In setting your payout threshold, you have to weigh the benefits of making it long or short, relative to your hashrate.  If you set it to be paid more frequently, your payouts will be very inconsistent as there will constantly be people jumping the queue ahead of you as they hit their thresholds.  It can be quite discouraging to be close to the front of the payout queue, and then for some whale to hit their threshold and their payments will be 150BTC or something, consuming the next 6 blocks and putting you 6 blocks further back in the queue.  On the other hand, if your threshold is set high, so that you are paid out (say) once a week, you will generally be at or near the very front of the queue every time you hit your threshold.  It seems that the typical choice is to set it to pay out approximately once every day, or 24 hours.

^^ This was the most relevant part. I never thought about this because I haven't customized my payouts--I come up whenever I hit the default amount. I'm going to tune this a little so see if it'll help my anxiety.

Agreed, don't be so quick to judge.  Some of the big guys donate through direct BTC payments, some of them donate hardware, some donate in other ways.  Most of these guys are long-time members of the Bitcoin community and have the ability to communicate behind the scenes (i.e., not in public on this forum).

Not to mention, I'm pretty sure wizkid and Luke-Jr have mining operations of their own.  (Yes, I know Luke isn't technically an Eligius pool operator.  Still, it is clear that he remains at least minimally involved with certain aspects of the pool.) Maybe they have many TH/s on Eligius... or maybe they do not.  There is no way of any of us knowing (although maybe they've discussed it publicly before; I don't know).  The fact of the matter is that they have decided to run Eligius on a donations-only basis.  They are the ones who have made this decision, not you.  If you don't like this decision, or any other aspect of the way the pool is run, you are free to leave.

Well that didn't work...lol

I switched to Eligius about 5 days ago. Brought about 1.2Ths over and as of right now I still have exactly zero BTC to show for it.  I just today got a payment of .25 that is now in 'immature' status and assuming nothing goes wrong will clear.  I just don't get the long drawn out payment system and I think the numbers on the site are a little misleading.  Pulled all my hash and I have five more S1's going online today but I just don't feel comfortable enough to point them here.

I only have a signature because I'm allowed.
