+1. It is a viable economic model in which transaction fees, taxes and many other costs associated with buying/selling of video cards. I think this coin is going to do well.

I took micryons suggestion and wish to put the wallet out Saturday to allow the network to ramp instead of hitting a wall of traffic.  This should alleviate all prior issues and provide the proper launch.  I will be updating the OP with block countdowns to inform everyone when the 20,000 GPUC blocks will start.

If you translate the OP and post it in the two forums I can give you a 100,000 GPUC bounty.  If the threads hit a total of 15 pages (total not each individually) before launch (March 2nd) I will give you an additional 100,000 GPUC.  Thank you for your support.

I received my GPU coin as well. Yes i will be holding on this coin to support it rather than dumping it.

Received my IPO. I may or may not buy a GPU(s), I have not decided yet. I hold coins for the long (in crypto terms) like I hold stocks and silver, but do trade one crypto for another from time to time. I do hope the miners keep selling and bailing, I'd like to buy more as my IPO was not that big and I don't think we're likely to see difficulties this low again.

Thanks, youre a rockstar, I was even gonna send 2 with the tip for helping. Ok now that I've got it figured out, there's only one big problem with making these. Trust. So far only the latest Bitcoin uses two-key address creation, so the vanitygen makes an address and the one privkey that you import with the wallet in the Console. Anyone would just have to trust me that I wouldn't later try to import the privkey and use your coins. You can always transfer them right away to another address if you're paranoid.

So I don't expect any takers. That's cool. But if anyone is interested, it looks like I can make custom addresses. I made a ton of other coin addresses for people so far in IRC with no problems. Believe me I don't want your coins, I like to mine hard and earn my own. Now for the difficulty, as you might imagine if you know computers, it gets much more difficult to impossible to make bigger customizations.

Making an address that starts with just "GPUC" took about 1 minute for the generator, and has a difficulty (diff) of 78505 (yes you're reading that right 78k diff). GPUC1 or something took about 10 minutes and has a difficulty of 4553521. See how it's getting harder? Now GPUCS1 has a difficulty of 264104224 and will take an hour to many hours to generate. My 1Anthro BTC address took all night to generate, just for reference.

So if you want a custom address and trust I won't take your coins, it'll be 5 GPUC coins for a "GPUC" or "GPU1" type address, 10 GPUC coins for a "GPUCS" type 5 digit address, and 15 coins for a "GPUCS1" type 6 digit address.
Not all prefixes work, like Guuud won't work, but the ones I listed do and I made them.

Let me know, or not, idc Smiley

My new GPUcoin address: GPUCSCSmRo8qXodRyNroMBfdDBeYpnbSJw beautiful lol

What's really going on here is the CEO has raised venture capital for a business startup. This business can be traded now by means of coins/shares. It should become volatile just like a stock on the NYSE. I prefer to buy shares/coins in a business that I believe will succeed than a pump and dump coin gimmick, -actually i like both and am enjoying everything about the cryptocoin community.

Is anyone able to email ipo@gpucoin.net or ceo@gpucoin.net without getting error messages?

I'm not able to sent email, but I know why!

The email server of gpucoin.net is misconfigured.

mail.gpucoin.net must point to an IP address. Instead it point to gpucoin.net

You can check it here:

http://www.kloth.net/services/nslookup.php

 Non-authoritative answer:
 mail.gpucoin.net    canonical name = gpucoin.net

According to http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc2181.txt it's prohibited to do this:

"To resolve the CNAME, the sender's DNS server will have to perform a second query.

Not only is that inefficient, it is in fact explicitly prohibited by RFC 2181."

Most email providers ignore this error, do the second query and sent the email.

But some adhere 100% to the specification and will not sent your email to ipo@gpucoin.net, but give the "domain has no mail exchangers" error until the author fixed the problem.

The two largest German mail providers gmx.de/gmx.net and web.de adhere 100% to the rules, and you (and I) will not able to sent email to ipo@gpucoin.net until GPUCoin configures their domain properly.
