OK, I found the problem. It seems that OS X quarantines files from Mega.

Solution: open a shell and type the following command:
xattr -d -r com.apple.quarantine /Users/bob/Desktop/zeitcoin-qt.app

On a separate topic, I'm disliking the consistently low volume and liquidity for the Zeit Market in general. Less than 300m zeit on the markets, and that's if you're willing to spend the 3 BTC to pump it to 100 litoshis. Now if we had 2-3 community members with only a few million zeit who wants to be a Zeit Knight...

So yea folks, you best start accumulating your zeits now while it's low cuz I think prices will be going north pretty soon, esp if you want in on the Zeit Knights.

Billioncoin was mentioned a while back, but I was thinking more along the lines of using Mibbit as our source too. If you put the widget code into a website, it opens up a mini chat box where all you have to do is type in your desired username and then you're in the room.

I use the widget on a guild page for a tiny game I used to play, and it was probably one of the best tools I ever used to build up my guild for certain events and so on.

http://talkcoin.org/ also seems promising, although what we need is a central chat room that community members can talk in. I'm downloading it now but can't figure out how to use the advertised chat function yet.

While not a coin, https://crypto.cat/ is one I've also heard about that you can use in chrome.

It would seem that after doing some cursory research, the talkcoin community more or less disintegrated due to bad devs and so forth. There was a new group of Devs that tried to rescue the coin, but they were unsuccessful so they pulled out and created their own coin that forked off the talkcoin blockchain.

So, now they have "chatcoin". They've been quiet lately with development, but it looks like they at least have a wallet going now.

As such, we could integrate their protocol, but if we can just have a working chat room now, at least piggybacking off the mibbit system as a temporary measure, I think we can upstage them as a social coin just by virtue of having a community centric chat room.

SHOPx coin had built-in chat in its latest release.
