regarding grading cards ..

I just got off the phone with Brian at S G C  ..

their old pricing model on volume of 7-8.00 a card is being drastically increased
wouldn't give me a number but 12-20 would not surprise me based on how strongly he set my expectations for it.

The reason I contacted SGC was because of a large lot of vintage NBA and NFL ( 70-74 ) collection I have..

Also I have some modern cards I need graded ..

PSA only offering entry level membership .. BGS has contacted me but they are such tough graders compared
to psa ...

so not sure what I'm going do .. between my vintage lot, hundreds of series garbage pail kids and some of my modern stuff
which I knew would be expensive but now its more expensive and there are other factors such as my bias that PSA
grades improve based on familiarity with the submitter .. I have never submitted to them before.

Yes. exposure on multiple platforms should help.  At some point, the price alone will get attention.  it is funny how once something gets pricey, we value it more.  that seems to be happening.  A lot of new people buying at listed price instead of making offers. that is a good sign.  New money coming into the segment.

This is most likely the truth.  Pretty shocked to see the prices of those base cards right now.  If we see BTC at $100K I can easily see those graded PSA 10 base cards going out the door for $1k+

was paying 4.00-17.00 .. then 20.00 now its costing 30-40 per even in a 3 card lot but I am close to my goal
for base cards so I'm gonna overpay a bit longer to get to my goal .. I had a dozen or so I bought at 4.00 so
I had room to dollar cost average up

Yes. The all-black ones are an x box Exclusive.   The one being auctioned now is an example.   There is also the #d/5 red and the unseen #d/1 silver.

Until the silver is found,  unopened x boxes will sell for a premium.

Good way to stack base cards. Buy as you find them.   Also look for sellers not getting the memo (on crypto card appreciation) that sell cards as a complete set, lots, or pick your card auctions.

Some people will also buy psa 9s and crack them open to send them to bgs in hopes of getting a 9.5.  That half grade might be huge in the future
