Please forgive me for question if it's posted somewhere.  Does btcguild support or plan to support GBT?

No plans to support GBT.  It uses significantly more bandwidth for no gains.  GBT has some potential for semi-decentralized mining, but at this time no pool has managed to figure out a way to properly implement a method where users can pick their own transactions for a block, meaning it does nothing that Stratum doesn't do for less bandwidth.

Website is under attack again by somebody trying to break into accounts using usernames/passwords from database leaks from what looks like hundreds of unrelated websites. I'm working on ways to prevent this attack from slowing down the website still.

As of right now, the website is now in 'under attack' mode with Cloudflare, which seems to have eliminated the slowdown.

These attacks are only affecting the website frontend, not the pool servers.

A few false positives may have been banned during this latest round of additions to the site security.  If you're getting a cloudflare error related to a ban, send me a PM with your IP and I will fix it.

As posted previously, the website performance is not tied to the pool performance in any way.  If you can't load the website at all, but your miners still work, you are fine.  The only time to be worried would be:
A) The pool isn't letting you mine
B) The website is showing you inactive while your miners are running

Don't you wish you could spend some 'quality' time alone with the perpetrators of this nonsense? (The attackers that is)

Is there an issue with the GetWork server?  My ASICMiner blade will not connect to btcguild.com:8332 as of about 5 hours ago.  I tried setting up stratum proxy and the blade shows that it is submitting shares but my worker is not showing any activity??

NOTE: Even though my username is bitcoin-rigs.com, I let the domain run out and now it is owned by someone trying to sell it for rip-off prices.  I am not the one selling it and I have no control of it :-(

Yes, the getwork server isn't responding at the moment, trying to fix it.  You absolutely need to upgrade to the Stratum Proxy though, because the getwork server will be shut down within the next few weeks.  How did you start the proxy?  By default it tries to connect to slush's pool.

any idea what I should set for the pool's address for avalon

I've tried stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 but 30mins later, i still don't see any increase in bitcoins.
so i tried http://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 and same thing.

what is the url in numbers? i remember the seller who sold it to me, configured it such that it was stratum+tcp://xx.xx.xx.com:3333 or something.

i completely forgot to copy it down when i switched pools to try.

My Avalon is setup as: stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 and works great.  Are you sure you put in your worker name correctly?  Also put a password like '123', it might not work if you have it blank.

How long have you been mining?  The pool hasn't found a block in about an hour and a half.  And a heads up on PPLNS, your shares takes ~8 hours to be fully paid as blocks come in (which also means if you stop mining, your earnings will still be ticking up for about 8 hours).

oh ok, i thought i made a mistake with the connection/settings.
mining for just about an hour? anyway the webpage for btcguild is still having issues right? no wonder i've been getting a lot of captcha verifications that day and connection issues today.

thanks.

The website has been getting "attacked" on & off all day, yes.  I have to occasionally switch the settings to 'Under Attack' mode which uses those browser verification pages.  The pool itself is unaffected though.

Can you screenshot and PM me what you're seeing?  Honestly, I've never seen a captcha with cloudflare, only a javascript interstitial when attack mode is on.  If you're getting these captchas and errors a lot, it sounds like your IP is on the same subnet as some very bad people.

What's the point?
Say they confirm a username or two, are you gonna sit back and allow account modification?
