Back to the topic of BTC GUild pool. What's the time limit of calling the API? I don't want to run afoul of Cloudfare or any other DDoS protection you may have. I do not recommend polling the API more than once per minute. It will allow a little faster, but there is really no need to slam it. No more than every 5 minutes is preferred if you're making an app that others will use as well. When I first wrote my app, I got my hand slapped if I tried more than once every 60 seconds. Then it changed to 30. Now it's 15. But my app won't auto poll any less than 1 min. M

10% of last night's sales have been tested and packed! It's been a slow day mostly due to getting a rhythm down, and starting from scratch. I'm slowly getting everything streamlined so I'm unpacking 50 units, then swapping them with the units being tested, then shipping the 50 tested units, and then back to stage 1, so that there are always 50 erupters in testing and 50 being packed or unpacked. Hoping to get another 50-70 done tonight, and if all goes well, at least 300-400 per day. It will mostly depend on order sizes. Some sizes are quick to ship (1-3), some are a pain to ship (4-9), and then easy to ship again (multiples of 10). With 50 units being tested at once, and a minimum test time of 1 hour, the theoretical maximum is about 500-600/day until I have enough hubs to run more units at once [which are already ordered ].

Don't forget to get at least 30 minutes sleep! Getting ready for that right now. Just swapped out 50 units that were testing for 50 fresh ones before I throw in the towel for the night. So for a quick status update: 9 orders [97 units] were packaged today, with 5 of them actually shipped out. Most of the delay was simply the startup time for setting up a spare laptop for the shipping (thermal label printer + stamps.com software + windows 8, bleh), and also setting up a spare room with enough cleared space to run 5x Anker 10-port USB hubs and a desk fan, with room for additional hubs next week. The linux computer I wanted to use didn't work with bfgminer/cgminer's recent releases (Ubuntu 9.10 was missing some dependencies), so I substituted it with a Chromebook to get the ball rolling faster. Waking up tomorrow morning I will have 100 tested units ready to pack for shipping immediately, and after timing myself it's approximately 50 units/hour from start to finish at the moment. With a 10 hour push, that should mean 500 units are packed and ready to ship Monday. I can also probably squeeze in 4-5 hours Monday before they need to be picked up. Given these estimates, I expect the following orders to ship on Monday (Please note that queue positions were updated tonight to reflect the orders that were shipped today): Queue Positions 1 through 30 are almost certainly going to ship on Monday. Queue Positions 31 through 40 are highly likely to ship on Monday. Queue Positions 41-60 will possibly ship on Monday. Queue Positions 71+ will likely not ship until Tuesday. Queue Position 92+ are backordered, as stated on your Order Status, so they will not likely ship out until Friday at the earliest (depending on when the next batch arrives). The above are not guarantees, but barring uncontrollable circumstances, this is the current roadmap for shipping out orders.

Sunday Night Update: 39 total orders were packed and shipped so far, total units was 503. Hoping to squeeze out at least 150-200 more before USPS pick up tomorrow, and the remaining 300-350 by the Tuesday pickup. The whole process of unpacking, testing, and repacking was drastically faster by the end of the day after continuous optimizations to the workspace and workflow. If nothing goes wrong, all orders marked as 'In Stock - In Queue To Ship' will be in the hands of USPS by Tuesday. Already hit the magic number of 2000 sold sticks?
1738 so far...I've got a PM out to friedcat trying to get extra units on top of the thousand already in shipment. Hopefully the amount he said are on reserve for resellers can handle it. I really want to open up international orders but I don't want to do it with exclusively backordered / unknown delivery date units.

https://i.imgur.com/YLpdnUH.jpg - A productive day so far. I'm still hopeful that all remaining orders marked as In Stock/In Queue to Ship will be packaged and out the door tomorrow. Most the mailers in the picture are 12" x 10", for reference.

Unfortunately, the post office didn't do their job properly and the pick up for today's packages never happened. I will be taking all package in myself tomorrow for the entire 1st batch. I am sorry for the extra day delay for those orders which have already received tracking numbers, but the timing is quite terrible (the time the carrier arrives and is supposed to pick up is 15 minutes after the post office closes, so a missed pickup means I'm screwed until the next day).

I think you'll find that most USPS service is typical of government run organizations: you get bare minimum at best. M

I think you'll find that most USPS service is typical of government run organizations: you get bare minimum at best. M It's all about the person. My old mail carrier (person that picked up Saturday) was very reliable, and she even came to check for pickups if she didn't have a notice requesting pickup when I used to ship 1-20 packages a day. Unfortunately, the routes got screwed up and my neighborhood is now at the very end of the mail route. The normal mail carrier doesn't hit this neighborhood because she doesn't work overtime. The guy who takes over is probably only concerned with getting done before dinner. Very unfortunate . Aside from that human element, I've never had issues with USPS. Hell, of the 9 packages that shipped out Saturday at 3 PM, 3 of them have already been delivered, next business day.

There was a brief outage at the datacenter for US Stratum servers. As of this post everything is back to normal.
On the ASIC side: All 1,000 units from Batch 1 have been tested as of this post. The final orders will be packed/boxed tomorrow morning and I will be taking them to the post office myself. Any order marked as "In Stock - In Queue to Ship" should be mailed out tomorrow unless something went wrong on my cutoff for which orders are marked as in stock and which are backordered. Ideally, a few of the backordered units will also ship, since only 2 chips were dead out of the tested units, leaving me with 15 extras. (The other 3 were mailed in bulk private orders that did not care if their units were tested beforehand).

Talk to the Postmaster or branch manager when you take your packages in. Remind them of how many packages you just shipped. They should take immediate steps to make certain that it doesn't happen again. Also, mention that you will complain to someone at the OIG if it continues to happen. And if it does continue to happen, let me know. I know some folks that work in the Audit Division and Office of Inspector General (OIG) offices that can send down official inquiries from a level so high that it will make the carrier that missed your pickup develop a nosebleed.
