The following has been added to our original ANN post (under Press & Articles):
------------------------------------
Poloniex Giveaway! - We can do it but we need YOUR help!!

YOU the community have asked for it - We have provided it. As a result of your demand for change, and your support, EMC2 is now under NEW leadership. We have a great team, but we need YOUR support. To publicise EMC2 further, we are looking at the inclusion of EMC2 in the regular Poloniex exchange giveaway. To qualify, we must raise a minimum 150,000 EMC2. We are therefore looking for members of the EMC2 community to make a donation of EMC2, your time, tweets, or reposts in other forums about this cause, to help us raise these funds. Please refer to recent posts for more info & a formal donation address or send to our trust fund! - EKnqTC9XEuucZEhD3miDGnbJxBptcxhByA

WOW...this is knockout!  Shocked

Thank you so much Saso, on behalf of the new team. It's things such as this that inspire us to move ahead with our plans for EMC2 when the going is tough. I couldnt believe it when I got a PM from Armis this morning with a subject line of '50,000 donation'...just awe-inspiring...

For those people not aware, www.titanbit.net will be offering a way to buy EMC2 with fiat (check their website for more info), and as such will be one of (if not the only way) to do so.

Saso, I will add your exchange details to our ANN post together with your logo. Check back soon, and thanks again for being a partner in the new EMC2 venture Smiley

You are welcome Wink And thank you for the add!

Keep doing great job!
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Hi all

We require the following services for EMC2:

- Faucet (if anyone knows of one that's working, please post the link so we can add to our ANN post)

- Games (lots of them if possible!)

- Block explorer (we had 3 listed on our ANN post but only 1 site is still up & it seems has ceased recording EMC2 blocks as of a month ago)

We will be providing bounties for the above, which we will add to our ANN post. In the meantime, if any of you would like to make any of the above available (out of the kindness of your heart) we would really appreciate it!

Assistance required with multisig wallet

Ok, I have been working on setting up a multisig wallet address to hold EMC2 trust funds, which will require a private key from at least 2 (or all 3) of the new EMC2 board members.

I can create multiple multisig addresses from within the EMC2 wallet, and verify via http://www.coinb.in/multisig/#verify (by entering the redeem script code that is generated with the multisig address) that 2 or 3 private keys are required to approve a withdrawal. All public keys shown in the output are correct as I entered them during wallet creation.

The problem I have (following this guide http://uscyberlabs.com/blog/2014/06/14/how-to-bitcoin-multi-signature-address-wallet/) is when I get to the section that covers verifying the balance of the wallet ie command: getreceivedbyaddress multisigwalletaddress , which returns a balance of 0.000 even though coins sent to this address over the network show as confirmed. We dont have a working block explorer atm to confirm 100% the coins have been received, however I am confident they have been received due to the number of confirms. I have used the 'addmultisigaddress' command to enter the addresses manually in my test wallet. I have read somewhere that I shouldnt be able to see this balance anyway, as "technically I do not own the wallet, and dont hold all the private keys", though I'm not convinced this is correct. I believe I should be able to see the balance (just as I would be able to using a working block explorer for any other address on the network) but be unable to send from it w/o a sendrawtransaction being signed off with all required private keys.

Assuming I can get around the above (and that this is not simply a limitation of the current EMC2 wallet), it appears I then need to be able to see the balance of this and all other addresses in my wallet by using the 'listunspent' command. From there I believe I should be able to retrieve the necessary codes from the multisig wallet to create the raw transaction (if I am following this correctly).

So, this is where we are at with our multisig wallet. Unfortunately I am not a coder. I will press on to see if I can find a solution to the above, but any assistance anyone can offer would be most appreciated. If this problem is due to a limitation with the wallet I would appreciate someone letting me know, as my time can be spent on other projects we currently have on our 'to do' list for EMC2.

thanks

Armis/djnocide,

I have tested again using the new wallet & am close to getting multisig working.

Can either (or both) of you open your EMC2 wallet & go to console>command & enter the following:

signrawtransaction '0100000001729040024947fe9f46b78fc65b5d05c962118287b9fbe3973d0813410289788a00000 00000ffffffff0140420f00000000001976a9148070b263a71a2efabe4d5b31d0ed8e7e1a9c0043 88ac00000000' '[{"txid":"8a7889024113083d97e3fbb987821162c9055d5bc68fb7469ffe474902409072","vout":0,"scriptPubKey":"a9141dab86596f0bb0da3690c469a0596dc54da8fbe687","redeemScript":"52210294fbc3733687f774e5059d059c97cbc35972c63d35161c6eef80f9b389c240dc210230bc6 c53410e9f54726d2c34e3a7cdf8e5073ba3e46f1a3d955adaac4dbffbf321028de9b81443e46507 81cd260165008eef1138e4e8f1ab094ad35fe74def88199353ae"}]' '["yourprivatekey"]'

If entered correctly, it will come back with something like:

{
"hex" : "0100000001729040024947fe9f46b78fc65b5d05c962118287b9fbe3973d0813410289788a00000 00000ffffffff0140420f00000000001976a9148070b263a71a2efabe4d5b31d0ed8e7e1a9c0043 88ac00000000",
"complete" : true
}

This is a test send of 0.01 EMC from the multisig wallet address we created. If this works it should release the funds from our multisig wallet and send 0.01EMC to a wallet I created on another machine.

Please PM me if you have any questions and/or with the results.

I did as you instructed about 30 different ways none of which worked.

After viewing the following videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIbUSaZBJgU
and
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSA1pwlaypc

I got some insight as to what may be the cause of the problems, I will pm you with those.

Ok, thanks for the PM.

I did create several multisig addresses in testing so its possible your right.

I have created a new multig address as per below which shows 2 sigs are required:

{
"isvalid" : true,
"address" : "3PBBYdzFgbQLAa3G7EBceztXBS5LBnuY1U",
"ismine" : true,
"isscript" : true,
"script" : "multisig",
"addresses" : [
"ERft1iSzs1FR3zRudmJMn58BmxoeHshwRh",
"ELLm3P3SAdEMgkQ1k4wgRDyAT8fRLT1kw3",
"EM98cArBr62Fgugk9nFP8mCfTWcPGGBiXW"
],
"sigsrequired" : 2,
"account" : "EMC2 Multisig"
}

I'm going to send another rawtransaction to this address & sign it, & will then PM you to test.

btw, I take it you didnt see the 0.01 transaction appear in your wallet prompting for signoff of the payment?

statement in red is true.

if my understanding of the multisig is correct, the non-creators (djnocide and Armis) don't need rawtransaction info, as secondary authorizers we only need the 'hex' info because that is all we actually sign.

Thats right. I think I know where this is failing. The error occurs at the very beginning when I create the rawtransaction. The problem is the 'listunspent' command doesnt return with the multisig address & balance even though coins have been sent to it & have been confirmed by the network. Again, this is suggesting a possible problem with RPC calls in the wallet. If I run the getreceivedbyaddress on the address I get a 0.00 balance also. According to http://uscyberlabs.com/blog/2014/06/14/how-to-bitcoin-multi-signature-address-wallet/ this means the address isnt registered in the blockchain. I'll need to look into this further.

huh, but your earlier result was 'true' which means you found success.  I thought it only needed the single change from '1' to '2'.

When you said: "have been confirmed" how did that occur?   It's hard to understand that the RPC (Remote Procedure Call) failed if the transaction took place?  Are you able to see it via the Transaction ID on the blockchain?  Are you saying that you have proof of payment but no payment in the destination wallet?

Remember, you are not providing specific details for us to see, and since you are on both sides of the transaction we must assume that when you speak of a specific address, key, wallet, or command that it pertains to the intended and correct address, key, and or wallet.

Hi Armis, I've sent you a further PM. Essentially, sends to the wallet are confirming, which are visible in the 'sent to' transaction list (sent from mine & other wallets). So the money is arriving it seems (though this is not 100% confirmable without a working block explorer).

The problem is I am not getting the required data I need (showing the multisig wallet balance & other info) when I run the 'listunspent' or 'getreceivedbyaddress' commands, which are required before I can create a 'spend' from the address.

I know I have stepped back from the organization, but I have matched the 50,000 donated for the giveaway. It is encouraging to see all the activity of those now managing Einsteinium, and I hope the giveaway goes well.

Report To The EMC2 Community

Progress
2 weeks in, EMC2 is moving solidly in the right direction:

EMC2 Is Getting Promoted
Thanks to the generosity of Praxiscat (administrator emerita) and Sashorx (CTO of TitanBIT.net) the Poloniex Giveaway fundraiser was a success,
the campaign raised a total of 100,000. EMC2.  The 50,000 EMC2 balance necessary to meet the minimum requirement has been contributed from
EMC2 Trust Funds budgeted for that purpose.

This new administration's first official payment - 150,000 EMC2 to Poloniex, will be issued as 3 50,000 EMC2 payments (the Trust fund has a
maximum transaction payment limit).   It should be noted that the functionality of the wallet did not, and does not, permit us to exercise an ideal
level of accountability and responsibility.   We are unable to issue the self auditing payment (all out and back in), and we are unable to create
multi-sig from our side of the transaction.

The Poloniex Giveaway will start this week.

Everyone is encouraged to take part in, by taking part of, the giveaway.

Bits of Good News
1st escrow account - our first escrow account is now in place, we are working on adding others primarily because the Trust Fund account is so
difficult to manage.  This account will likely be used to maintain the .5% part of the 2.5% mining tax.  A different escrow accounts will be used
to hold funds between trading partners for private transactions.

Block Explorer is back - we contacted the site owner about: https://altexplorer.net/chain/Einsteinium, at the time it was not generating updated data,
we are please to report that the app has been updated and is reporting fine.  We are working on having the major typo corrected -- did you notice it?
We are still working on a way to track trust funds as you can see it is not reporting accurately: https://altexplorer.net/address/EKnqTC9XEuucZEhD3miDGnbJxBptcxhByA
the file is too big for normal system searches which is also why it is so difficult to manage.

A New Exchange? - yes it is true, we added a new exchange to the list.  Unlike our major exchanges, Saso Mezgeck, CTO of TitanBIT LTD (www.titanbit.net)
invested in EMC2, and has sponsored our first promotion.  We appreciate his engagement and hope good business could come from this.   We're going to look
into opening an escrow account there, if so we will do a comprehensive analysis and review of the exchange.

Paper Wallet Generator -  according to this video   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eTkiGGzOME  you can go to this site: www.cryptolife.net/upwg to
generate paper wallets.

Investment
We are constantly putting measures in place to facilitate safer investing with EMC2, currently we have:

 - market monitoring,  we are constantly looking for significant indications that can adversely effect the coin or community;
 - the valuation report, tells you specifically what EMC2 management believes about the value of EMC2 that very day, allowing you to make informed choices;
 - the Guardians, a group of EMC2 holders who can be called on to buy EMC2 privately at a moment's notice when large volumes of EMC2 are offered up for sale.
   This serves to blunt the effects of malicious dumps that often result in panic sell-offs.

Valuation
We believe a well informed investor is the best hope for the financial security of the EMC2 community, and the coin itself.
Periodically, and at critical points, we will provide a brief assessment of what we individually feel EMC2 is worth at the time of the report.
Market indicators are pointing to this being a very active week for EMC2 as such we are providing this valuation report.

The question is: "What is EMC2 worth Monday Sept. 15, 2014?":

Oldminer said: "I still consider EMC2 to be highly under-valued & oversold. In that regard, I still expect the
coin's value to increase dramatically in the near future.  My current valuation for EMC2 is 200+ satoshis..."

Djnocide said:  "the value should be around 100 satoshis, the community respond positively to
the actions taken by the board members.  Everything is falling into place to put this coin back on its feet. it hold a greater value
but we need put everything in place for it to reach it."

Armis said:   "in my opinion today EMC2 is worth 125 sat, additionally, because the market is eagerly
anticipating 150 sat I expect relatively high volume, regardless of price, all this week, perhaps the highest seen in over 100 days.
Although I'm encouraged by market indications,  I don't believe the current market can support a value above 175 sat, I think if rates
soar above 175 sat the rebound (aka correction) will hurt some people for a little while."

Volunteers Needed
We need volunteers for social media outreach, and researching.  If you decide to do unsolicited projects of any kind please post what you
have done together with your EMC2 wallet address, we will be randomly selecting individuals for small remunerations.

Armis, what plans do you have for a shopping cart? I talked to OldMiner about this a little earlier in the thread, for the record I'm no PHP programmer in the slightest but I would really like to see an altcoin pick this up.

Lethn, thanks for the question, I presume it is regarding Einsteinium.biz since it is the closest possible project related to shopping.  If so, there are no immediate plans for a shopping cart, the order process will be rudimentary: customer merchandise inquiry via email, biz invoice reply, customer payment for order.

In an ideal situation the EMC2 community recognizes all of its resources and maximizes each to enable the whole community to enjoy greater benefits across the board.  EMC2 is much more than a commodity to buy or sell, it is a currency to use to buy and sell OTHER things, it is also a way to enable EMC2 clubs at schools to reduce education expenses ...

With that said, your idea is brilliant, how can we help you to make your bright idea shine brighter for everyone?
