OK, just to be clear for the hundredth time, GUNCOIN is a decentralized coin. We supply a technologically solid and stable coin and the infrastructure that surrounds it with very little to no community support. The community expects the Guncoin team to be at every gun show in the country and pay for listing on every exchange and have the coin anywhere and everywhere - so they can make money.  For a decentralized coin as Guncoin must be for long term use, THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

The community asked for an upgraded coin and we did that. The community did nothing.  The community asked for masternodes and we gave them master nodes with V2 at a significant cost to us.  The community did nothing.  The community asked for more exchanges and we paid our way on to the Bololex exchange.  The community dumped some coins and has done nothing since.  Are you seeing a pattern here?

Any one reading this could have knocked on the Gunbroker.com door and introduced them to Guncoin.  Or contacted us and asked for support in doing so. Or ANYWHERE else for that matter.  The Guncoin team did NOT drop the ball here, the community did.  I do not even see you folks pumping us on forums - which is FREE for you guys to do.  The Guncoin Team will continue to do all we can to provide a great coin for you and always willing to listen to ideas.  But folks, this is team/community effort. Without your support and efforts, GUNCOIN will have difficulty gaining traction.

So last month, comments were made about some of our "donation" funds going to 2nd Amendment groups?  Who dropped the ball on that?  All your help and support is greatly appreciated.

It's true you should never listened to this community.
Masternodes are down right useless, they only make mining harder for new comers.

Miners and Masternode operators are usually different. When people mine, they still get their mined coins. Masternodes allow a separate group (who could be miners) to also run a full node and earn the rewards for masternodes.

I really do appreciate the sharing of the information regarding Gunbroker and Freedomcoin.
I had no idea that had happened and was now a thing.
It really brings to light, the need for the community to help as much as they may to promote and use Guncoin.
The Devs here have always let us know that Guncoin is a truly decentralized currency, and that it is up to us to make things happen.
We have seen a lot from them, such as masternodes, website, web wallet, regular posts, answers to questions, etc...
So the Guncoin team didn't let us down, we all let ourselves down.
That said though, it looks as if when one uses the Gunbroker pay system and Bit Rail, there will be fees involved.
When one uses Guncoin, there is none, other than the minimal transaction fee, and there is nothing stopping Gunbroker users as far as I know from using Guncoin.
Here is a pic of my "Guncoin Glock" purchased on Gunbroker form a supporter of Guncoin, using Guncoin.
It has been a while though.
Hopefully we can see more of this someday :-)

Anyone in this community work in Marketing/Advertising/PR/Project Management/Copy Writers/Graphic Designers? Time to step up to the plate! Its actually the perfect time in the Crypto market for this.

Lets form a small team and start a Marketing/Adv/PR push for this. Who's in?

I think the 1 million GUN account for charity is still a good thing to start with here. If we could get 1 Pro 2A organization to agree to accept GUN for donations/membership and advertise that they do this, they get the 1 million GUN. Potentially worth millions to them.

Well, don't every one jump up at once.  Yes, 5% of each block goes to pay development costs or a donation to a worthy and legitimate 2A cause.  The value of course of that donation depends on the price of GUN.  So it seems, like this might be secondary, but needs someone or some group to push this forward. 

Next, have no interest in changing websites, logos etc. at this time.  That all cost money - have spent many dollars/BTC on both over the years and seen little in return.  That being said. If there is a talented and technically current web designer out there that can work with WP and will work for GUN, we are open to hear a proposal from them.

We have received an offer for listing on a much bigger exchange, that would make 3.  They have not given us a $$$ amount yet and that may kill the deal.  The bottom line on exchanges is that unless there is volume on any and all of them, no others are going to add us and it will be more expensive.  I am not talking dumping, but daily buying and selling.  Additionally, we need an active blockchain.  There are many transactions going on every day, so that is good, that is what they all look for. 

I would think the #1 priority for you folks to figure out is how to get GUN back on CoinMarketCap.  That should not be a difficult task for you and then you can address the marketing that AR15usr mentioned. Am hoping these posts reach some ears and generate some more activity and not just  hoping the other guy will do something.

I'm glad to see GUN is one of the coins that haven't died in the last 7 years. Is there any mean to edit the first / orginal post in this thread? I see it has been posted by another user. I tried a couple of URLs; all of them are dead. That doesn't help bringing this coin to a next level. If that's not possible, you might consider create a new thread about this coin.

Good to see that is now listed (again) on an exchange though! That's a good step in order to bring the coin to next level.

GUN is absolute garbage!    I wasted so much of my time exchanging to get enough coin to create a masternode, and the f****N network will not even list my node.  I tried VPS/remote, wallet on public IP/No firewall... nothing... this is a scam on 2nd Amendment supporters!  I'm going to dump all that I have for cheap.

Yeah, I went by that document... didn't help. 

It is really frustrating to get excited and behind the idea of GUNCOIN, go through the effort to  fully support the network, just to have it not work.

Yea, I've been there. Are you running the wallet latest release? Also, the network doesn't immediately accept your MN. Takes a while. If the home node ' masternode status' says ' masternode succesfully started', should be fine.

So I set up a pool to mine GUN, and found out that there are 3 major miners solving blocks... those miners are listed in the block explorer.  A little digging will tell you where they are located.... NOT DECENTRALIZED!!!!!!!!!

My rigs are solving blocks... however they are 100% rejected... some cli digging on submitted blocks/blockinfo details that the folks that took over the GUN project are 2 of the major block finders.

Anything but king daddy (Bitcoin) is considered a shitcoin, or even anything not in the top 100 by market cap might be considered a shitcoin.

So appreciate all the attempted support for this guy.  But we have dozens and dozens of Masternodes running out there with no issue using the exact directions specified.  We have several running now ourselves.  While I cannot see anything wrong with what you are doing, there is obviously some flaw in your setup, firewall, configuration, etc. that has gone overlooked since every one else used the same document and seem to have their MN running fine and we can see many active out there.

With Cardano continuing to rise and announcing that their smart contracts are active now in mid-September, they are a very good option for a Wrapped Guncoin.  Still looking for suggestions on potential smart contract opportunities from our users - but hearing crickets.....

Over the next week or two, we will be moving the primary Guncoin website to a new, improved and more secure server.  The one we are on now has been in use for many years and it is time for us to retire it.  So while we do not plan on any significant interruptions, please be patient if the site is temporarily offline for a few hours.
