As I said before, although we obviously disagreed about the conduct of that auction, I don't think it should have permanently marked your account given your otherwise extensive positive trading history.
Exactly. And I will too. If my understanding is right, although I'm not trusted by anyone, simply by virtue of having earned enough merits, my inclusion will count?
Yes. You must have at least 10 people directly trusting you each with an earned merit of at least 10, not including merit you yourself sent.
-snip- I'm going to have to ask you to stop using that gif because every time I see it makes me feel funny in my pants. Are you blaming me for being gorgeous? That's sexist! Meow.

I just deleted my all trust list personalizations and going to start again. Why, I'm not sure, but my brain just melted a bit and I want to think about it. In view of the small number of members who actually set their own list, then I guess the vast majority will be seeing red and green trust by default left by these DT1 and DT2 members https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trustIs that right? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;dt is the DT view regardless of your own settings.

I am afraid this new update will fail big time as some DT members will be afraid to tag other DT members or "potentially" coming DT members just to save themselves from being removed from DT.
Yep. It was easy to trust Theymos, but now we have to trust random people that come and go off of DT1. I think I'll stop tagging for a while until I see how this plays out.

2nd Case: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=234771 (My own view) - MikeMike, Timelord2067, Vod, cryptodevil, philipma1957, peonminer, CanaryInTheMine feedback as trusted. In the 2nd case I see MikeMike and peonminer are added member whos feedbacks are showing Trusted feedback from me. Thing is, I never added these two in my trust list (No disrespect guys, I don't know you two.). So, I am a bit confuse how these two are trusted for me? People who you add to your list are DT1 for you. The people that they have added to their lists are DT2 for you. Feedbacks from both layers are visible by default. CanaryInTheMine includes MikeMike. Not sure about peonminer. If I understand it correct then it's zazarb -> d4rkwizard -> peonminer And krogothmanhattan -> CanaryInTheMine -> MikeMike zazarb and krogothmanhattan are on my DT1 among all other I trust.
;dt attribute works to see the profile rating too. Example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=30747;dt
~
Now I understand the entire trust system better than ever.
I'm going to have to ask you to stop using that gif because every time I see it makes me feel funny in my pants. There's a fix for your pants: Firefox > about:config > image.animation_mode > once Now it's just a dumb looking picture.I'll delete this post in 15 minutes. You can but I had it quoted

Interesting changes. Looks like more people are going to have to learn to get along now Doubtful Lauda has always been hard to get along with , and Theymos directly sanctions her actions, why would she change anything she does. Actually talking like human to human always work. I were also tagged by Lauda but after starting normal conversation about solving the issue Lauda actually were looking after for second chance. We all do deserve second chance, not only to receive but give. Believe me no matter how bad you think Lauda is, in matter of fact, even he/she is normal and good person like everyone else who give second chance. Just make normal conversation and don't be ignorant.

-snip- Consider my pants fixed. Yes. There are thousands of users whose custom lists will start to matter a lot. But probably far less who will actually update their lists. Having said that, 10 people with 10 merits (and 1 with 100) trusting you is not a particularly high bar to be set. I would worry about potential scammers either buying or trading merits their way on to DT.

The old system was better. As a result, we have a member in the DT1 list which is far to be someone to trust Abuse the forum and get included as a trusted person happy new year resolution

Yeah thanks, that's what I thought. As some amount of previously left "untrusted" feedback will now be lighting up green or red lights, maybe it would be a good idea to have the "Show untrusted feedback by default" box in profile settings ticked by default. The older hands here will be able to appreciate the subtleties of Theymos' action on this, but it's important to remember the children newbies and look at things from their POV if poss.

The new implement of trust network will help more to keep forum scam free. It's time to reconsider your custom trust list. I believe negative feedback will be reconsider each other between DT member. I am encourage with it if someone not obvious scammer. But who have tagged for obvious scam with proof but if he on DT2 list, his feedback should not be reconsider.

But probably far less who will actually update their lists. Having said that, 10 people with 10 merits (and 1 with 100) trusting you is not a particularly high bar to be set. I would worry about potential scammers either buying or trading merits their way on to DT. If I'm not mistaken, 200 sMerit is enough to create 10 DT1 members: Send 20 Merit to 10 accounts, send 10 times 10 Merit to the last account, and give all of them this Custom trust list: myfirstDT1 mysecondDT1 mythirdDT1 myfourthDT1 myfifthDT1 mysixthDT1 myseventhDT1 myeightDT1 myninethDT1 mytenthDT1 myeleventhDT1 That puts all accounts with 20 Merit on DT1, only the account with 100 Merit isn't trusted by someone with 100 Merit. A bored Newbie with a hacked Legendary account could pull this off. Then exclude all other DT1 accounts, and the hostile takeover of the trust network is complete (until manual intervention). It can even work with less sMerit too, if you use the remaining sMerit in each account. Suggestion: Shouldn't there at least also be an Activity requirement?Update: this won't work with Newbies, they must have at least Member rank.

Now it is even more dangerous to add inactive accounts to any kind of list!

- If rank was determined solely using earned merit, then you must be of at least Member rank.
I really think they need to of earn't 250 merit, but thats just my thought on it

Changes are good, although I am amazed at how merits can be used in selecting DT1 members "marketplace trust". Will there be any modifications to the algorithm to be a trust member "DT1 or DT2" for each local board?

I really think they need to of earn't 250 merit, but thats just my thought on it You are right, Loyce and I missed that. Each new account would need at least 60 merit. na mate, you missunderstood - I think the bar is far too low, 250 merit should be the minimum earn't to be considered for DT1
Ah, I got it. I don't think that kicks anyone out from the current list, does it?
