There's huge possibility that the windice team will increase the waging volume because they usually care about what their users want and affections. However, the previous contest prize pool was huge than this one.
You mean that windice will increase the price pool because users want bigger prizes? I dont think its working this way *g* What they will definitly do is monitoring the amount of btc wagered compared to the winnings. Lets say if someone has to wager 100 BTC to win the first price they will definitly adjust it or they wont have any participants anymore.

Contest much more competetive this time around And yet you won this time again! Congrats, yoloer808! So, what's your real profit from this event, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks, looking forward to the next race. My overall winnings are quite volatile. The last contest cost me a quite a bit of money, this one was slightly profitable. The prizes are a nice cherry on top of winning from rolling.

while I can't say the same about the guy who took the 50th place, and, actually, about anyone not belonging to the top 3. Starting from the 4th place, the prize is less than 1% of the wagered amount, so it's possible that those guys lost more in the process than the prize they received. But let's hear from them though. Contest participants, users form the top 50, was your participation profitable overall?

I expected the first contest to be more profitable than the second one for you. Because you won the first one with wagering 5 bitcoins and 0.05 expected loss and won the second one with wagering 10 bitcoins and 0.1 expected loss.

That is definitly true, users from 4th to 50th place won't have made any money this time (statistically of course). Would be very nice if someone eg. from the top 10 could post statistics about what he spent and what he earned (price and winnings)

There are also some players who did not even focusing on the wagering contest but those players did play as normal gambler only without looking at the wagering contest but at they might be on top 50 at the end of the contest. Anyway, I doubt that we will hear it from the top 10 players as they are usually keep it as a private thing.

I very much agree with Bitinity, these players are hard core players and probably the wagered amount is something they don't even look at carefully, especially if they're in just for the game/fun of it. And, of course, they'd keep this info private at this may be used against them in future races/contest, or perhaps, these are details they no longer concern themselves with - who knows

Yoloer with the win once more! Dude has been rocking these competitions like crazy, this is his second win that I got to see, I don't know if he had any more wins in any other place. And to be honest with you guys I have never seen a winner come on bitcointalk topic and claim his win live neither, that seems a bit rare, usually you just see the name of the winner and nothing else, this time we actually have a chance to respond to him or even PM him as well.
Windice is looking good with the wagered amounts going up as well, this time around it looks even bigger than last time if I am not wrong, the higher ups at the top 5 really gambled a lot more than the last time. I feel like windice will keep doing this wagered contest a lot more frequently now that the wagered amounts increased.

Yeah, the prize was small for them but that's it. The competition was for the most with the highest so if you're a whale and you love taking risk and winning some decent amount, it should worth to take the risk. But for the small wins, still congrats to them there's a pride that they've made it to the top 50.

He is the winner of the last contest of Wolf.bet and also the leader of their current contest. There are probably some others too. There are many gamblers hide their profile. But Yoloer not only doesn't do this but talk about his bets publicly. I wish him good luck.

Here are the top 3 for the latest contest: But I understand why you are confused. It is written above the table of the latest contest: "FROM: 26 Sep 2019 03:00 GMT+03:00 TO: 29 Sep 2019 03:00 GMT+03:00". I think this is a mistake.
~but I don't know or understand how the team does the winning prize pools calculation but the winning prize pool are not stable and it also eye catching either.
I think they just divide 0.3 BTC among the top 50 contestants in descending order. No complicated algorithms are applied.

I think the dates shown in the website are correct. The lastest contest held from October 2 to October 5. Here is the post made by windice on October 6 just after the contest was over. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5116500.msg52666583#msg52666583

You are calculating the overall expected loss but people do not gamble automatically like a robot and get exactly 1% loss on their bets, that is for house to make a profit with thousands of people on millions of bets, not one guy betting to become most wagered. Yoloer could have bet 10 btc all at once and lost it all at once as well (or won double) and that wouldn't be 1%, he definitely didn't do something like that but he could have done something like that and 1% wouldn't matter. Hence, when you are calculating expected loss of one person you are definitely doing it wrong if you calculate just 1%, it all depends on how they wagered. However, if he says he lost a bit on first one and made some on the second one than it means dude plays smartly without putting too much risk.

I never said anyone who gambles will finally lose exactly 1% of the amount he wagers. There are some people make profit and there are some lose more than 1%. But as the house edge is 1%, losing 1% of the wagered amount is likely to happen in long term and also users will loss 1% on average.

@betwrong, it seems that you are the one wrong, the latest one had top three that had 10.02, 6.34 and 5.08. Just go to windice.io , tap on the "contest" on the upside of the screen, it is right near the "stats" page, when it opens click the "2", that means it is the second contest, you are talking about the first contest. First contests top 3 was like you mentioned, the latest was the 10 btc top 1 one. There is a ton of money involved this time around and it shows for sure this contest is a great idea.
I don't know how long yoloer will be capable of continuing this because it is gambling and eventually he may lose a ton of money while trying to win and he may get cold feet after that, but until then we are going to just have bunch of people trying to overthrow yoloer from the top spot.

It's enough fair to being paying 1% as fee of administrator of system who's working behind. We assuming that as do bet vs investor or may player-to-player through table of casino then we pay of cashier.
