It was not the day for Portugal and Netherlands. I predicted that both of them should win but they did not.
In the first match, when the red card was shown to Netherlands, they become short of one player and then they never recovered from there.

Portugal tried hard to level the score but unfortunately could not do so. I was very sad from the result from both the matches,

After Wales had to go home due to a big defeat against Denmark, then the Netherland and Portugal also unexpectedly also lost their respective match. I feel Portugal and Holland are favorite to qualify for the quarter-finals, but unfortunately they were not able to score in 90 minute of regular time so the quarter-finals were not for them. Congratulation to all the teams that made it to the quarter-finals. I saw so much disappointment from Ronaldo fans after Portugal lost and failed in the last 16.

Many wrong prediction about Netherland and Portugal because almost people will choose both country easy to next stage, but last night Netherland and Portugal have loss and go home early. I think Netherland is very bad performance tonight although success get three winning time on phase group they not power full when faced with Cech last night.

Netherlands was on top in their match, until Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt got the red card for trying to prevent the Czech counter-attack (he was initially given a yellow card, but after VAR it was upgraded to red). That triggered a chain reaction and Czech Republic took advantage of their numerical superiority. If Netherlands had 11 players on field, then in all probability they would have won yesterday's match. It was a very costly mistake which ultimately resulted in their exit from the Euro Cup.

Tactically a very good game yesterday by the Czech Republic and deserved to win even if unexpected. The Dutch had a very very weak game and after the red card no chance.

Things might have been inverse if Matthijs de Ligt hadn't not slipped up. However, it's true that Czech Republic players played like a team. Terrible for the dutch however an important day for Czech fans. I lost my bet, got my lesson here is respect each and every team that's in this tournament. Euro 2020 is not for the defending champions. Sad thing this is Cristiano's last match in Euros we have witnessed.

2 my favorite team isn't qualified, the Netherland playing badly, they can't continue to the next round same as Portugal did. Belgium is still playing compact but they sacrificed their 2 pillar players (De bruyne and Hazard) I hope their injuries are not serious for the next to continue match versus Italy.

One of my favorite teams (Portugal) got kicked out yesterday. I guess now I will have to support Italy. Among the remaining teams I don't like anyone except Italy, Croatia and Czechia (and Croatia are unlikely to qualify for the QF, as their PQF match is against Spain which is scheduled for today). Italy will be facing the no.1 ranked team in the world, so fingers crossed at the moment. And at the same time Czech Republic have relatively easier opponents in Denmark (not discounting the fact that they thrashed Wales 4-0).

Never really a fan of Portugal but looking at highlights you have to say they probably deserved to get at least a goal if not even win based on the number of chances, Belgium had one wonder shot but that's the quality that wins the games for people at this level I guess! They were lucky Lukaku seemed off form but then again, losing 1-0 is as bad as losing 3-0 when it's KO.

My bet is still alive on Spain but it's a tough match ahead of them here!

Surprise surprise, that was unexpected even by most Czechia fans lol! Wonder know how many lucky people multiplied their bets by 6 today!
Belgium - Portugal match started, BTTS seems attractive @2.05, placed a tiny bet since I am not very confident about how the game will finish here.

I actually took it very close to 7/1, something like 6.96 anyway, just about 15 mins before the match. Am sure there were thousands of Czechs who took the bet, small money maybe but what a night, all the winnings probably thrown away on their finest pilsner haha!

Belgium well worth betting on for scoring. Sweet goal from Hazard-not-Eden, but Patricio will feel let down. There goes 2 of 5 of my outrights haha...

Well done to Belgium yesterday but I am really sorry for Portugal as in the second half they created a lot,dominated the game and even hit the post.It was just the bad luck that they were not able to score yesterday.Now it will be an interesting game Italy vs Belgium and any result can happen here,however based on Italy much more experience than Belgium in such competitions I think Italy will probably pass through this game.

With surprise from Austria (even they failed) and Czech, I would like to see Croatia win over Spain. Honestly Spain have problems with Morata and they struggle to score goals.

If Croatia can make a draw in the first half, they will have more space to make dangerous counter attacks in second half when Spain will become more hurry.

France can win but I wait to see better performance and connection between Mbappe and his teammates. He should have better attitude towards his teammates.

In such uncertain matches between top teams, usually one situation or a small detail decides.
Belgium managed to score a goal out of nowhere in a difficult and boring match without a real chance and that decided the winner.
The Netherlands did not take their chance and the punishment arrived very quickly and brutally.
As for the matches today, although Spain may be the favorite in the match against Croatia, it will be a very difficult match for them, and I think everything will be open until the end.
In the last 2 European Championships, Croatia and Spain played two very even and uncertain matches, and it will be the same today.

Our views are strikingly similar. Portugal were short of lucky and could have the chance entered in the last eight if they had not hit the goalpost but scored. Belgium will face Italy in the next round, who have arguably the best form of any team, and Belgium are likely to be halted the final eight.

One negative about Belgium that I have noticed so far is that Lukaku is not very keen on passing the ball to others. In the last match also, Belgium wasted a couple of good chances because he didn't passed the ball to others who had better chance of scoring a goal. Belgium has some of the best players in this tournament, but the team coordination is a bit on the lower side. On the other hand, in the Italian camp it was rumored that they were having some differences between the coach and the players. But they seems to have overcome it.

That is football for you the day you expected your favorite team to win will lose, it is a  pity Portugal the defending champion couldn't make it to the next stage it obvious they tried their best to win the match Belgium on the hand continue with the pursuit of winning their first major trophy, they will face tougher oppositions in their subsequent matches especially playing against italy with a likely injured Kelvin De Bruyne out this will be big huddle to cross and a challenge for the Martinez side going by the Italian performances so far in the championship.
