At first half early goal gives Spain the lead but at the second half Switzerland retaliate back into the game and set level the game 1-1 I just say what a come back by Swiss! Switzerland not ready to home yet, another thriller! Shaqiri is a beauty, what a move and classic finish.

Another draw in the knockout stages, again the Swiss team proven to be very tough and hard to beat. As for who will be the winner, I believe that the Swiss deserve to get to the next round. They played a lot better than Spain in the regular time but who knows?
I would love though to see them passing to the semi-finals and continue their great run.

I would still bet on Italy. Belgium is not doing as well as it would seem. The defense of the Italians is excellent. They can play defensively, on counterattacks. Belgium's defense is not very strong.

May luck be on your side today. I think it is difficult to say who will qualify for the next round in this match because it is one of the toughest match compared to the other 3 match. Even though you will be next to Italy, I will still support Belgium.

Spain actually played well throughout the game, but they struggled to score goals. Switzerland had forced Spain into extra time, but unfortunately they were 1 man short due to a red card. I don't think the winner will be decided on penalties, Spain have to win before this extra time runs out.

I laughed a lot when I saw the odds before the game started, it seemed they were underestimating Switzerland a lot and today Switzerland is managing to face Spain even with 10 players, in games where the opponent is pressing a lot and missing many goals, the team that misses many goals and ends up losing the game. I think that for Spain to win this game it will need to work harder

I would love though to see them passing to the semi-finals and continue their great run.

Switzerland vs Spain and Belgium vs Italy for tonight.

These will be a very interesting matches to watch. I predict that Spain and Belgium will advance to the next round. They have a better squad, the starting eleven and the bench. Goal feast might happen in both matches.

With Spain i think you hit a right spot  
And with Belgium i would not be so sure, because coefficient for their win is bigger than for Italy (books think that Italy stronger)

This was never a red card for Freuler. Yeah, it was a tackle with 2 feet but both were on the ground, it was not dangerous at all and there was no malicious intent. I'm really annoyed with the softness in football nowadays.

I really hope the Swiss team gets to penalties and wins it, Spain is one of the most boring teams to watch in the history of football.

I have to admit that the Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer is very good and has saved a few shots from Spain.
Maybe if the Swiss goalkeeper wasn't great, Spain would have won without extra time.
looks like Yann Sommer will be contested by big clubs later.

It was a very interesting match and Switzerland's hopes seemed to want a penalty shootout as only 10 men could only hold out until the end of the match.

No xhaka and they've lost Embolo too, I'm not too sure the odds are going in the Switzerland favour, they'll probably take some more risks in the second half and commit more forward on attacks but I'd expect Spain to be conservative enough to see out the game and perhaps catch them on the break to score one more goal.

There we have it..equaliser and on to extra's. How about withstanding against all those Spanish attacks. Gotta give it to Switzerland for not giving Spain any gap to find the net and rest Sommer is making all those crazy save. They are really working hard.

Guess they don't need Dhaka or Embolo to keep on toes.

Remo Freuler has just received a red card and with the pressure that Switzerland is making, I won't be shocked if Switzerland wins this game. Spain still has greater possession of the ball and has players of good technical quality, but playing with 10 players is very difficult

Switzerland is playing well with 10 players and i am confused with the way Spain is struggling to score a goal and i doubt what happens if it goes to the penalty shootout, i placed a bet on Spain to win and qualify and the only goal they were able to score was a self goal by Switzerland.

I have a feeling that Switzerland would win if it goes to the penalty .

I must admit,  Switzerland really did a good job playing with a man down against Spain and taking the game all the way to penalties **which was the only way** has given them an equal chance to proceed to the next stage.

We all know penalties are 50/50 but I have a feeling the Swiss will carry the day...watch this space

Switzerland after a great game, ended up losing on penalties.
Honestly, Switzerland is better than Spain, and had everything to win the game, unfortunately several players missed the penalties.

On the other hand, Spain proved not to be a great team as expected.

It was a pity for Switzerland, but they are proud of the excellent Euro 2020 they made.

I knew even with the football almost all round difference, between Switzerland and Spain, this match was a very opened one, and consecutive full time draw, and they came back from behind again, but unfortunately history won't repeat itself and make them go through in penalties, because Spain has just eliminated them in the penalties, I think Switzerland will go home with the heads raised high, the have meet the best and prevailed, congratulations to Spain.

And in the end Spain painstakingly made it to the semifinal after winning a penalty. Unexpectedly Switzerland gave such a strong resistance to the Spanish team that they had to determine the winner on penalties. Switzerland is great in defense while Spain is less sharp up front. Good Spain qualify, quite fun.

Belgium vs Italy. Will we see the winner have to be decided on a penalty as well? LOL

What a match! I was very disappointed when Spain could not score a goal even in 90 + 30 minutes. Spain's young players have played great. They controlled the whole match. However, they were not able to score a goal in the extra 30 minutes, there were 9 defenders in Switzerland. By evading 9 defenders, the Spanish players were able to take some goal kicks, but they could not score. Because of Switzerland's goalkeeper Sommer. I have never seen such a great goalkeeper in the whole Euro. Despite Spain winning the match, Sommer won our hearts.
