I was routing for Leon in the end, obviously he did make quite a few fouls in the fight, but I think that's natural. I don't think he was looking to fence grab, I think it was just out of desperation, but having a point deducted was probably the right choice. However, I saw it pretty much the same way as the judges, I thought Leon comfortably won that fight. It's odd to see Usman struggle against someone so much, considering he dominated the first two fights.

Got to hand it to Leon though, takedown defense was on point, and his circling away from danger was brilliant too. I don't think they'll make the 4th fight for a while, and hopefully we get to see someone else have a shot at the title.

The leg kicks really gave him the upper hand on the scorecards. Almost 100 percent accuracy but I still don't like the way Leon Edwards is attacking just 1 at a time. No combos are happening, or let's just say it's too rare for him.
What I like is the higher confidence after taking the title, he is different now unlike when he was the challenger. I guess the stats are true about those who receive the title being 30 percent stronger than they were without it.
Got to hand it to Leon though, takedown defense was on point, and his circling away from danger was brilliant too. I don't think they'll make the 4th fight for a while, and hopefully we get to see someone else have a shot at the title.
I don't think so too. It lacks action when they are the ones fighting. Too many idle moments. Dana White must find another fighter that would bring the energy up.

Lost my bet as I went for a parlay Nelson-Fiziev-Edwards. Fiziev lost to Gaethje. Damn, I should've stayed with the singles and taken that x3 for Leon.

Leon Edwards won that fight even though it was a close fight and with the point taken for grabbing the fence, for a moment i thought the judges might decide as a draw depending on how they scored the second round and i posted earlier regarding the health issues of Usman and his struggling knees and i knew he wont be taking many chances to blast a take down. Credits goes to Leon and his coaching staff to come out with a perfect fight plan, attacking the weak knees of Usman from the start and it paid dividends.

Got to hand it to Leon though, takedown defense was on point, and his circling away from danger was brilliant too. I don't think they'll make the 4th fight for a while, and hopefully we get to see someone else have a shot at the title.
The next challenger would be Colby Covington as he was the back up fighter and there is a lot of fight to be made, Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal are fighting and that winner could be the next challenger and then there is Belal Muhammad and Shavkat Rakhmonov discussion is ongoing and the yet is not yet finalized and that winner could be the next challenger.

Leon Edwards is a great fighter! He looked like a champion yesterday and I think he has a good chance when he fights Colby Covington. Colby has more pressure then Usman and will probably take him down a lot more but Leon Edwards showed he has the take down defense to stop Usman who in a lot of his fights takes every one down. Leon Edwards might not have the stamina for Colby and I think it will be the important statistic when they do fight if Leon Edwards can keep his stamina against Colby he could defend his belt again.

Leon did a good job with his defense, he really prepared well for this fight and won. I may be one who can't believe Usman lost again. I couldn't help thinking about what could have happened if Leon didn't grab the fence and will it turn the tide.

Here are the result of my prediction

Leon Edwards VS Kamaru Usman ROUND 5 DECISION - LOST

This is 1 weird fight in my opinion, and right now Kamaru Usman is so much respecting Leon Edwards here there is not much action going on, and definitely, that takedown defense of Leon Edwards was perfect and that body kicks, but the thing that I am not OK with the fight was all of Leon Edwards cheating and foul it was a real cheat day for Edwards but I am not saying that he wins because he is cheating this fight but there are many tendencies that he is, and it was taking all of Kamaru Usman's momentum, this is why I have gone in betting for both fighters and the profit is kind of OK and I never really had lost result about it, but definitely, Leon Edwards has committed low blows 5 if my count is correct, holding Usman's glove, and holding the fence

Justin Gaethje VS Rafael Fiziev ROUND 3 DECISION - LOST

Well it was a banger of a fight and I think Rafael Fiziev also looks great and really is technical and throwing counter to Gaethje, but it was not really enough Justin Gaethje looks bigger than Fiziev even though Rafael Fiziev is bulkier, and I was really shocked when Gaethje shot some takedowns, really using his wrestling capabilities, and yes Rafael Fiziev was gas out he can not handle Garthje in 3 rounds fight although he looks so good with Rafael dos Anjos fight, his cardio is his problem,

Marvin Vettori VS Roman Dolidze ROUND 3 DECISION - WIN

Well some say that Roman Dolidze was winning because he landed more strikes than Vettori but man Marvin Vettori really won this fight and if you would look closely into the match but yes Roman Dolidze has more power but Marvin Vettori is more technical, and either of the two doesn't come up with some grappling and have to to get on with the fight with striking, but yeah Dolidze doesn't have any variety going against Vettori while Marvin Vettori really has a good chin that can withstand your beating,

Leon Edwards VS Kamaru Usman ROUND 5 DECISION - LOST

It was a terrible fight from Usman, I don't understand what he was trying, he didn't try to hit Leon, he didn't try to get points, he was only bitching and trash-talking at the end of each round that was all, I mean, he try a couple of takedowns but he even fain on that. So, I would say it was a terrible fight from Usman. And big claps for Leon, all those kicks were a hard punishment for Usman's legs.

I was honestly surprised that Mokaev did not tap into the knee bar from Filho. It was really deep. Even after the fight, we saw him limping. His name was certainly in a very bad condition after this fight. Of course, he was dominating the fight (Mokaev). But that submission hold was surely going to take away the win from him. But in the end, he was able to get out of that, mainly because probably his opponent, Filho, did not have enough strength to hold on anymore.

Anyway in the end it was a really good Neck Crank from Mokaev. Filho was not getting out of that. I am actually interested to know how many injuries his knee sustained from that submission hold.

Anyone wants to talk about Filho vs Mokaev fight? Whole fight was decent, but knee bar that Filho made on the third round was something. Hard to believe tha Mokaev did not tap, because human knee simply can not bend on such an angle. How can Mokaevs joints survive that - I cant explain. That might be the nasties injury in ufc. Btw, this is 10th victory in a row by Mokaev (4-0 in ufc).

In my opinion, he fought very timidly. Not to be headshot and dead again. This led him to make some pretty inaccurate hits and takedowns. There was one takedown where he dived with one leg, he really timed it well, but he couldn't do any other decent takedowns. Kamaru Usman is a name who has retained the belt for nine years, which I think is more than enough. Now Edward Lion has proven himself by winning two matches in the trilogy. Although it didn't end as epic as fight 2, it was a card that I really enjoyed.

This was great event to watch and crowd in England was happy to see their champion winning again.
I told everyone those high odds on Leon Edwards are crazy good, and maybe now bookmakers and people will take Leon more seriously.
Kamaru Usman put up much better fight than last time, fight was full five rounds and he was not without chances to win.
What do you think who is next in the line for Edwards now?

Just like I have said even though Leon Edwards has many fouls Low blows, eye pokes, holding gloves, and holding the ring cage, he surely outdid what he has shown in their previous fights, I think that is what's important but we can not takeout the fact that Kamaru Usman have known that the fight wasn't in favor of him and let's not forget that within those fouls Leon Edwards has committed Kamaru Usman is very frustrated about it and thought that Herb Dean wasn't doing something about it, that is why his confidence in winning was all gone,

In my opinion, he fought very timidly. Not to be headshot and dead again. This led him to make some pretty inaccurate hits and takedowns. He could have remembered that head kick from Leon Edwards so he played possum this time, and wait for those kicks, so he can withstand those, this could have been a negative thing for Kamaru Usman or maybe it was the many fouls that Leon Edwards have committed that eye poke that Herb Dean doesn't see so Kamaru Usman needs to get back into action because he knows that Leon Edwards was near him and that Low blow that knockdown Usman so Kamaru Usman would need to shrug the pain to get ready for Leon Edwards, I don't know if this was committed intentionally by Edwards or just in the heated of the battle but it is not really looking good for Kamaru Usman,

I doubt we will see the fourth fight because Edwards clearly beat Usman, if he was not get point deduction, Edwards will win by unanimous decision. I already expecting Edwards will win this fight because losing via KO wasn't a fluke.

However we might see a good fight between Edwards vs Chimaev because Edwards is an anti wrestler while Chimaev is pure wrestler. I think if the fight will happen, I will choose Chimaev.

Edwards had a good fight, and although the fight was very close, Usman needed to show a much better fight so that no one was left in doubt who was stronger. I read the opinions of the fighters about this fight, there is no consensus, many were ready to give the victory to Usman, but I repeat my opinion is that the challenger should be much more convincing so that there is no doubt, and here was a very close fight.

However we might see a good fight between Edwards vs Chimaev because Edwards is an anti wrestler while Chimaev is pure wrestler. I think if the fight will happen, I will choose Chimaev.

Dana White has already announced, that Colby Covington, that was to asked to be ready to replace Usman or Edwards in UFC 286, will be Edwards new opponent. Imho that will be an easy fight for Edwards. Despite Covington has endless tank and spam strikes, he is not in prime anymore. He fights once a year. His last wins were against Masvidal (that was on a series of two losses), Woodley (that was on a series of two losses also and about to get kicked out) and Lawler (that was also on a series of two losses lol). Since 2018 Masvidal did not have real tough opponents, and it is 2023 outside already Cheesy

It didn't.  Pretty sure Mokaev has torn ligaments in that knee and could not fight for at least 6 months or more.  But he's still young so I think he'll recover nicely.  If he was near his 30's, that's gonna bother him for the rest of his career.  It could even bother him later down the line.

Anyway, I was avoiding this thread yesterday.  Lol.  I thought I'd win 4 of my lottery tickets until Fiziev sht the pie.  Not that it would make a difference as Usman lost too.  My top two guys...  :/

But Usman was also taking safety precautions and avoiding a possible knockout again. That knee by Leon surely shook him and I thought we will have another knockout to witness again. The problem with Edwards is, he was unable to connect strikes when an opponent wobbles, Usman recovered easily after the hit.
They will surely take him seriously next time. But against a strong opponent, he might be back to being the underdog again. Not on the next one though.
Colby Covington.
Going for a knockout on Edwards's line might be the best choice here as betting for the winning fighter will not give out profits for any gambler unless you will take the underdog and I am sure they will put Colby on a heavy underdog here.

Yes, this fight has been announced. Colby watched from the sidelines. Edwards after posting the belt at the end of the match. No one seems to have taken Colby seriously when he acted like I'd call him and finish you off. Edward Lion will retain the belt in that match. I don't know if there will be a Chiamev match, I feel like Chiamev might lose control and lose against him when he can't do what he wants, but I'm not sure. Because Khamzat Chiamev can grind him down with his wrestling. If this match is announced, we'll talk again.

UFC Fight Night: Vera vs. Sandhagen

Main card (ESPN+)
Bantamweight: Marlon Vera vs. Cory Sandhagen
Women's Bantamweight: Holly Holm vs. Yana Santos
Women's Flyweight: Andrea Lee vs. Maycee Barber

Preliminary card (ESPN / ESPN+)
Women's Bantamweight: Hailey Cowan vs. Tamires Vidal

For me, for this event, I am really looking forward to Marlon Vera becoming the champion, but surely he will be having a hard time against the front door towards the belt and that is Merab "The Machine" Dvalishvili that insane 48 takedowns on Petr Yan was really insane and he has put a lot of cardio to execute it, for sure Merab will not fight Aljamain Sterling because of their friendship, but for sure Marlon "Chito" Vera will win against Cory Sandhagen,

And next was the fighting Kitties that I am interested in, and Holly Holm, Yana Santos, Andrea Lee, Maycee Barber, and Hailey Cowan but for now I think many are not really moving on with the previous fight and this will surely keep on going until the next fight started, we all know how shocking the main event was,

For sure Khamzat Chimaev is an explosive wrestler he will surely shoot a fast takedown against Leon Edwards this fight will be a snap, definitely will go with Chimaev aswell, but for sure even though many know how Khamzat Chimaev will do things they couldn't figure out what is really happening even those takedown defense will be for naught if the wrestling chain reach the cage it will just be more effective, and yes Leon Edwards have already said he is moving on so no more rematch that will take place,

I thought Holly Holm retired I am surprised to see her back fighting she has not fought in a couple of years and she was the main women fighter in her prime. I wonder if she is still good or if it will be 1 of those come backs where she gets finished and never competes again. She was probably 1 of the most exciting women banterweights in the UFC and I think she could have made more of her career if she recovered from that 1 bad loss she had.
