Basically these two teams have never met in all the existing tournaments, so whatever the result can still happen and not entirely Manchester City will win easily. At least if Atletico can qualify then this will be good history because if that happens, then Atletico managed to get rid of Manchester United and Manchester City in succession in the last 16 and quarter-finals in the UCL this season. Right now the record on paper still doesn't guarantee a definite result, if Manchester City has a winning mentality then Atletico also has it.

Atletico Madrid style of a play looks aggressive and even tends to be rough since Simeone became a coach, no wonder Atletico players are very often rewarded with yellow cards or red cards by the referee. Rough play and using physical strength is Atletico way to win matches, it must be admitted that each team has a different playing character. Atletico will try to does something that can damage the mentality of the Manchester City players to go to the next round, so Pep Guardiola must find a way to ignite the spirit of his players to suppress Atletico defense by scoring the winning a goal. It is not easy to penetrate the Atletico defense, Man City players must take an advantage of free kicks or a corner kicks to change the score.

Interesting performance from these two teams, especially for Atletico Madrid. They managed to get rid of the English representative Manchester United in the round of 16, although they had a little trouble. Now I say their opponent is above the team they knocked out a while ago. So I think it will add to the difficulty for Atletico Madrid. I myself sided with Manchester City in this match.

Atletico Madrid's performance in the Champions League may not be bad. But I wouldn’t say they’re too strong. Atletico Madrid was expected to win against Manchester United. The condition of the Manchester United team is very bad. But the Manchester City team is not weak. They are in the form now, as well as their squad and coaches are both very experienced. Real Madrid vs Chelsea, I hope both can be with this match.Real Madrid always surprising in UCL. This UCL What a come back Real Madrid against PSG. True they have a chance against chelsea since i think chelsea performance is not as strong as it was last season and in the begining of this season but i think they have no chance to win the ucl especially if they face man city since their play stlyle is similar to barcelona and we all know how the last classico ended.

Both teams seem to have a balanced power and it is difficult to predict who will win in that match, I think whoever the team that managed to score the first goal in the match will probably come out victorious, because if us look at the defense of both teams and their performance so far in the league it looks like the match will end with a thin or draw score, the first leg match will likely be a difficult match for both teams and I really hope both teams can field their best squad in the match, so as to make the match more interesting for us to watch.

Atlético Madrid is a team that appears to be incredibly difficult to beat, not only because of their defensive prowess and ability to block goals, but also because any team facing them is constantly afraid. However, Manchester City are in excellent form this season and have a strong team capable of defeating practically any team in Europe or the world, so I am confident that they will qualify, though it will not be easy.

They are usually playing a hardcore defensive system where the whole defense and midfield try to do whatever it takes to not let the other team have easy positions. This could result with the players resulting to hard fouls just to make sure that the other team knows they can't have an easy chance.

This is not only good in a tactic way, but it is good in psychological way where they would be able to put the other team in a fear where the other team would feel like they can't just go out and playmake, they have to be quick to get rid of the ball if they do not want to get kicked. This could result with a good result for ATM, or it could result with a red card and switch the balance of the game.

I support Real Madrid but I don't expect (at least with great confidence) such a result in the first game. Real is a rational team (like Chelsea, by the way), so the first game will not necessarily be very productive. Both a goalless draw and a victory of one of the teams with a minimum score are possible. No one will go to allinn no matter how events develop because the second game is ahead.

We know that many times what decides a game are the match-ups, the circumstances surrounding the game and luck, without a doubt I think Manchester City is the favorite to move forward in the tournament, however we cannot discard the possibility of Atletico Madrid pulling an upset here, after all if they can play the game in a way that matches their playing style then they could get the win, so if they were to score first and force Manchester City to attack them then they will play to their strength which is their defensive play, but if Manchester City can get one or two goals of an advantage early on then most likely Atletico Madrid is not going to be able to pull a comeback under those circumstances.

It is already a great achievement for Benfica and Villarreal both to reach this round in the Champions League by eliminating very tough opponents. Even they wouldn't have thought that they would advance to the quarter finals here. But I think that the end of the road is seen now. Liverpool and Bayern Munich are way out of their league for certain. Maybe Villarreal would keep Bayern Munich at the level they'd like in the first leg. Chelsea versus Real Madrid fixture is definitely a 50-50 chance but I am going to lean towards the side of Chelsea mainly because they are seems to have inculcate the winning mentality in the team even at the face of adversity, they have been playing well and winning games as if the club is not under pressure from the government and football organizations. The team that can release all their key players and has no problem with injury, should be the favorite to win.

thou the both teams haven't met in all existing tournament, but I think Manchester city is the favorite team to win the game. Their winning mentality is incomparable, they play without losing focus and they also take hold of their chances. I think with their recent performance they are a good contenders for the title and they will be hardly stopped. If I personally see Real Madrid as a better seed than Chelsea, why is that? because in their own league Chelsea are left in 3rd place in the temporary standings, while Real Madrid is the temporary leader of the standings in the Santander League. So this reflects that Real Madrid will look superior in the Champions League against Chelsea, although it is always not easy to win the game.

Man City is surely a stronger team, they are in 1st place in EPL and they have more quality players. While Atletico is only in 4th place in La Liga and their performance isn't at its best during this season. Many Atletico Madrid players performed rather badly this season, a bit far from our expectations. Based on the stats of these teams, Man City is more favored.

All the above you said are very much correct, City are favorites to beat Athletico Madrid, i mean, there are only a few teams (one or two maybe) currently in the world that City wouldn't be favorites against; but this is the CL and Athletico Madrid are a tough opponent to contend with, i personally do not admire their pattern of play (park the bus, and counter), but who knows, they could use it to frustrate City and pick up a surprise victory, that doesn't mean i am not expecting City to win, of course i am, my prediction is that City wins this game home and away, but my point is this: never rule out the possibility of an upset.

Talking about mentality actually Real Madrid is better than Chelsea because last round when Real Madrid defeated PSG we know about how mentality of Real Madrid player there. Chelsea still not get heavy against team on Champion league except with Juventus on group stage, but on 16 round is getting easy team for defeating as Lille not competitive on champion league after bad performance on Ligue 1 or domestic league. I think have good chance and looks Real Madrid as potential team will trough to semifinal and become moment to see Real Madrid back to play on final champion league in this season.
