The fact is you cannot lock down the country for a very long period of time, the initial lock down was not prepared in India, they announced that in a short period which was really stupid and now the number of positive cases are reaching around one hundred thousand and now the central government wants the states to take decision on what to do when people are protesting against them and not allowing them to move to their homeland because they are not having any work for the past couple of months, how convenient.
The lockdown was essential though it was implemented in a poor manner as you mentioned. What else can you expect from an Indian leader who messed up GST, demonetization etc in a royal manner in the past. Nothing surprising at all to be honest. However, if the lockdown wasn't implemented, the COVID figures in India would probably surpass USA too due to the size of the population. Washington media glorifies that Modi is bringing India into 1970s again. If lockdown is mandatory then they should follow strict rules but what is happening out there, they just relaxing everything when the number of cases spikes up to huge level so now they care about the taxes not about the people. Unofficial news that there will be no more entertainment events in 2020, even if the number of cases are under control.

I did not expect anything different, i knew this was going to happen as Modi is found of theatrics and i knew he would take decisions without thinking and when i hear about reports that malls are shutting down, i stocked everything for the long term and just as expected the lock down was announced like a hammer. Lock down was necessarily after informing everyone about the situation and people who are stuck elsewhere will get the opportunity to get back home after proper testing rather than leaving them on the road and then planning to do arrangements after two months. This happens when stupid people are elected through popularity contest (elections) and they have the ultimate power to rule scientist, engineers, doctors while these politicians are hardly educated. ~snip Washington media glorifies that Modi is bringing India into 1970s again. If lockdown is mandatory then they should follow strict rules but what is happening out there, they just relaxing everything when the number of cases spikes up to huge level so now they care about the taxes not about the people. Bringing India to 1970 does not mean glorifying the deeds of Modi, instead it is the other way around, mocking the foolish and backward policies of the government taking India backward . Unofficial news that there will be no more entertainment events in 2020, even if the number of cases are under control. We already had two major entertainment, banging vessels and lighting the candle and shouting go corona . I was expecting more entertainment further but sadly that did not happen . As for cricket all the players are making live videos and streaming it online and one of the blunders i heard today was from Dale Steyn claiming that he dismissed Sachin at 190 but the umpire refused to raise the finger because he was fearful of the reaction from the crowd . The reality is far from the encounter mentioned by Steyne as Sachin faced three balls and there was never an appeal for LBW. There is drama going on everywhere and it looks like everyone is loosing their mind.

There is nothing glorious about someone like Modi to be honest. The problem right now is that rules are way too strict(Not the reverse) during the lockdown which is causing a lot of issues(Cannot order food online, cannot travel too far etc) which is making this COVID situation worse. Lock down was necessarily after informing everyone about the situation and people who are stuck elsewhere will get the opportunity to get back home after proper testing rather than leaving them on the road and then planning to do arrangements after two months.
Well said. Based on what I observed, the migrants are the worst affected thanks to the poor implementation of the lockdown. He could have given them a headstart like the Bangladesh PM.

That would have been the worst idea. If the lockdown is announced after a headstart, then close to 150 million migrants would have rushed to the railway stations and bus terminals, resulting in thousands of deaths. By announcing the lockdown without a warning, the government avoided that. According to the experts, a 7 week complete lockdown (49 days) would have stopped the pandemic completely in India. However, poor implementation by 4-5 states (such as Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, MP and WB), and the super-spreader event at Nizamuddin disrupted this plan.

I disagree. Your assumption about thousands dying by rushing is baseless and doesn't make any sense in my opinion. They are in a far worse state now. Some lucky ones were able to travel back thanks to special trains, but the rest are experiencing hell by walking all the way. Also, no one is an expert when it comes to COVID-19. I find it hilarious that these so called experts think that they could contain a pandemic like Corona in a country like India(2nd highest population). The central government implemented their plan in a poor manner as usual. Bangladesh did a much better job in comparison based on my research.

Both the England and the WI board and government are agreed on this schedule ? If this happens and the tournament is played successfully then we can see other boards take similar steps too to resume the cricket. However, it will be difficult to take this initiative and they will face a lot criticism for that too. Yes they are moving ahead with the tournament, the curve is coming down and you cannot shut everything for a very long time, the economy is going down the drains and people are stuck at home for a very long time without any entertainment and if the cricket boards are able to resume with proper precautions and testing they can continue without a crowd gathering at the stadium.

I have my own way of interpreting, and you have yours. For the past two weeks, the government is transporting migrants to their hometowns and villages using special trains. So far 2 million people have reached home. This is being done in a well organized manner and the migrants are happy to be home, without having to pay for food or travel. And comparing Bangladesh with India may not be a good idea. Because India is having a population of 1,400 million which is 10 times that of Bangladesh. And the last time I checked, India had 75 COVID cases per million while Bangladesh had 153 per million. Just for comparison, in Pakistan it was 200 per m, and in Nepal it was 14 per m.

I do hope that we are able to see some sort of cricket matches this year and I am very hopeful to see this series between England and West Indies. If this series is delayed or cancelled, then I am sure we will not be able to watch any live cricket in 2020.

The Indian tour of Australia is going to be the most important bilateral series this year. Because that tour alone is worth somewhere between $200 million and $250 million. So if any of the bilateral series get going, this will be the first one. That said, the IPL and the T20 World Cup will be having higher priority for both the ICC and the BCCI. The England-West Indies series may be having a lower importance, unfortunately.

The first test is going to start on July 8. If this tournament take place successfully then we have some hope of other tournaments to be played as planned. West Indies CEO 'increasingly confident' England tour will happen

Other than that i am not sensing any sort of efforts from the other cricket boards, or may be i missed it something. Okay, that's one.

Right now, a month-long series in England is just unthinkable. The last time I checked the stats, there were 36,793 deaths from COVID 19 in the United Kingdom (second highest in the world, after the United States) and the total number of infections stood at 259,559. There were 2,405 new cases and 118 deaths just yesterday. Under these circumstances, I don't see any sporting activity resuming in the UK for the next 2-3 months. On the other hand, Australia is doing relatively well. Just 3 new cases were reported from there yesterday and the last death was two days ago. I just hope that both the Indian tour and the T20 World Cup would go ahead as planned.

How are we doing all? Any major update of cricket to be in the ground soon in anywhere? There are some football already back in Europe and some are on the way.
Sorry lately I am not much into cricket discussion since for me there are not much to discuss until we have some real cricket. Life without cricket is boring to be honest.

Rightly said that without cricket I feel that I am missing something. And also, the major thing is that currently it is the time of the IPL and all teams fighting to reach top 4 positions and we see some extraordinary cricket. All this is missing and much more as well.

Furthermore Ian Chappell believe that we will see IPL instead of the T20 World Cup because ICC won’t risk upsetting BCCI, and I too agree with his opinion but what about you’ll what do you think of his opinion?. ^^ Not frustrated and its bit old news except Ian Chappell name is new addition, i did share this in T-20 thread. Not sure if anyone has any say in it, Although both cricket board seems to have same objectives which is related to revenue. The thing is Covid19 spreading in India so i am not sure how BCCI is going to tackle this problem. Well in this case just for IPL to happen the World Cup May get postponed and their may be some objections raised by some of the boards I think considering which is the bigger of the two . One is run by BCCI and other by ICC . Hopefully their are no major retaliation and fans are able to see the cricket whichever it may be . I guess CA and BCCI are on same page and their interest aligns with eachothers. - If T-20 WC gets cancels then BCCI is winner, in case IPL takes place in OCT-NOV. BCCI might earn heavy amount approx $400-$500 Millions from the IPL in comparison of $80 Millions from the T-20 WC. - In return BCCI will play Bilateral series with the CA which is schedule in Dec this year. Winner is CA Rest of the cricketing nations should raise their voice if that happens.

Australia is in a very difficult position right now, and that's the reason why they are trying to cut a deal with the BCCI. If the Indian tour doesn't go ahead, then CA would be looking at around $200 million in loss, which would simply destroy them. So they would agree to whatever the BCCI demands from them. Even if that means the cancellation of the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled for this year.
